O.B.!

Warning: Spoilers
Now THAT'S how you kick off a series!

This was pretty much a perfect episode of Loki but also a win for Marvel. I loved the first season of this series and this episode alone is about as good as some of those. The stakes were actually very high, the tension felt intense, and the unrequited time-traveling concept for Loki was a lot of fun.

And the comedic moments in this actually hit? None of the jokes felt forced? And the actors actually delivered all of their lines like naturals? I felt the tension in this, but I also laughed quite a bit.

And Oroboros was so fun. I loved Ke Huy Quan and I hope he's in the rest of this season.

The production was also super solid. Cinematography, set designs, VFX, that SCORE...

I completely forgot there's a new showrunner now until it was over. The quality didn't feel any different from the previous season. My worries are gone.

In other words, Loki is BACK.

MARVEL FINALLY QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
SlummyT6 October 2023
This episode is a fantastic start to the season, had me fully engaged until the credits rolled.

The whole episode is perfectly constructed from where the last season left off, he who remains may be gone but the rest of the TVA are left picking up the pieces

The chemistry between Tom hiddleston and Owen Wilson alone is enough to enjoy this episode. I'm extremely happy to see Ke Huy Quans, his performance in everything everywhere all at once was incredible, and the introduction of his character.

This episode has everything from increasingly impressive visuals, to emotional dialogue/scenes and a an exceptional story to set up for this season

Owen Wilson's mobius is this episodes comedic relief his scenes with loki and O. B are hilarious and I hope we see more of those three interacting

I'm pumped for this series season it's going to take a lot to top it from the last.

Starting With A Bang!
SHU_Movies6 October 2023
A lot of critic review dropped earlier in the week, and they got me very nervous for how it was going to be. Because of the mixed response from critics, I went in with honestly quite low expectations, but the season premiere absolutely blew me away

It's been over two years since Loki Season 1, and it's so amazing to be able to jump right back in as if there's not been that time difference! It picks-up right where the Season 1 finale left-off, and keeps the momentum going in such a fantastic way!

The writing is fantastic, the visuals are stunning (which is a huge surprise given how they've been in other recent Marvel projects), the chemistry between the actors is great, and it was all-around such an incredible start to what I'm hoping will be a great season!

I'm not crying, you're crying!

I've been waiting for season 2 for two long years, and I'll admit, I was having doubts. New directors, new writers, and the latest movies and shows from marvel haven't been perfect. But this. This was everything I love. I don't think I stopped smiling for a moment. The actors were wonderful, the filming, sets, scripts, and everything that was put into making this have my respect. The twists and the ending was crafted perfectly. And the VFX and CGI? The best we've seen from Marvel in a long time! Thursdays can't come sooner! Two years of waiting, and it was so worth it! This is definitely the Marvel comeback we were hoping and waiting for. For all time. Always.

Great start
nolinger-484396 October 2023
This is a great start for the season. The thing that I think this episode did the best was its portrayal of the absolute chaos that the TVA was in. The whole episode was so chaotic and it was just so fun to watch. It also raises a lot of questions and intrigue for the rest of the season and makes you want to keep watching. Overall, I just love what they did with this episode and think it's an amazing start to hopefully another amazing season of this show. The first season left off on such a great cliffhanger and this season picked up right where it left off in a wildly entertaining fashion. Great episode, and fantastic season premiere.

Great start of the season and Loki is still fun
namob-436736 October 2023
The first season had some issues, and you can find problems or complaints if you want to, but the first season was still fun. Or, perhaps, interesting is a better word.

This started a lot better. Sure it is just the first episode, but this has all the quality that the first season was missing. The first season was fun yea, but I too had a lot of complaints. Here, so far, I have no real complaints.

The best thing about this episode, and the show in general, is the banter and dialogue between Tom and Owen. Those two are amazing actors and they sell all that is going on. If it wasn't for those two this might be too ridiculous. The other actors are also great and help sell the story. Which leads me into:

The story.

The storyline is fantastic. Very weird, very out there, and very thought-provoking. I do no really know why it works, but it does. I thought it was a bit iffy the first season, but now I buy it.

Very much looking forward to the next episode. 8/10.

Ouroboros
lassegalsgaard6 October 2023
It isn't a secret that I was a massive fan of the first season of "Loki," loving the more sci-fi-oriented premise that it had and it's overall storytelling, culminating in a finale that still hasn't been topped by any of the MCU Disney+ shows. A lot of the creative team behind the original opted not to return for the second season, so it was obvious that it was going to feel a little different in its execution. And after a few years off, it's back. And if the premiere tells us anything, it's that this show hasn't missed a beat and is better than ever.

It doesn't take a long time for the season to put us right back into the cliffhanger of the first. However, it's also clear that they're not going to dwell on the mystery of how he ended up in that specific timeline, because it's very quickly back to business for our lead characters. What this episode succeeds so perfectly at is the exact same thing that the first season's premiere did, which is properly setting up the world that the show is set in. They don't need a ton of set-up this time around, but the little that they need to get off the table, they do quickly and effectively. They then have time to focus on world building, including an introduction to a great new character played by Ke Huy Quan, before giving us a sense of what this season is going to actually be about. Granted, this episode is a little light on actual plot progression, but a few well-placed hints and an intriguing post-credits scene, was enough to at least move the bricks a little forward. Hopefully, they'll get right into it in the next episode. Despite the change in creatives, the style seems very much intact, and the direction is actually a little better this time around, with Justin Benson and Aaron Morehead attaining the look of the show, but putting a little more vibrancy in their direction. It also goes into the performances, which are all great, especially Hiddleston and Wilson, who easily rekindle that budding chemistry from season one.

"Ouroboros" is a thrilling return to the MCU's greatest TV show to date, and it's an awaited one that puts you right back into it. The world is as booming as ever and there's a lot to explore, so despite the episode's lack of real plot progression, the world building is definitely good enough here.

Tremendous start
elhamfirmino8 October 2023
Time went fast while enjoying this brand new episode. A fantastic way to kick off the new season. It starts right were it ended two years ago. Tom & Owen chemistry is addictive. My God, I could watch at them for hours and still feel entertained. Finally I have a good feeling and more faith again into marvel studios. I really didn't like the previous series and latest movies ( besides Guardian ). Loki will drive us through the multiverse saga to the upcoming events. Ke Huy Quan deserves flowers man I'm enjoying this guy so much. He's finally getting these kinda roles. He absolutely won all hearts at his debut. I have a feeling that his character will play a big role through the season. Ever since Hawkeye I'm really excited for the next episode.

Man it's so good to see the return of Loki and what a great start in episode one to season two. I want to shoutout the immaculate production design, breath taking score, stunning vfx, and excellent directing. The character interactions are better then ever with Mobius and Loki being an incredible duo. OB is an incredible new character and personally had my favorite scene of the episode with Loki communicating with OB in the past and that affecting him and Mobius in the present. Extremely excited to see how this season shakes out as I feel like they are so many directions that the story could go.

A good start
ayserdj7 October 2023
I'm glad this episode focused more on Loki and Mobius and developed their relationship a little bit more. I hope the show won't do the same mistakes as the first season and stop the selfcest plotline which was so uncomfortable to watch. I didn't have high hopes going into this season but was pleasently surprised. I especially loved O. B as a new addition. Very funny and cute. After all the new information we got in the season finale, I'm glad that we got this episode which is more grounded and character focused rather than jumping straight in with a complicated plot. This episode left me excited for the next episode and I cannot wait.

Pretty Decent Start to the Pilot of Marvel's New Sitcom
MamadNobari976 October 2023
And I'm not saying that in a negative way. As someone who has been cringing for many years now seeing the humor in the MCU movies and how they ruin most of the scenes, this episode's comedy elements were actually funny and didn't ruin anything.

Anyway, this is probably the most interesting Marvel has been for the past two years (excluding GOTG 3 obviously), and I'm glad that something Marvel-related is back that I am actually interested in seeing how it unfolds and want to see more.

Although I gotta say, for a season that's only 8 episodes, not much really happens here plot-wise. Though I guess the first season also was paced like this. But I fear this is gonna be another Disney Plus show where not much happens at the beginning, then they somehow rush the ending and there's not much to the story.

One thing that is really fascinating and at the same time baffling, is how they portray Kang here and show how powerful and destructive he is. Even when he is not in the episode, you can still feel the power he has. But they somehow decided to go with a whiney forgettable villain who lost to a bunch of giant ants for their big blockbuster movie? Like even looking at it financially, wouldn't you want your best stories and character writings to be on the big screen where more people are gonna see, so your movie would sell more and get better hopes for making sequels?

Like even planning the MCU, you'd want your big bad to actually feel menacing, right? Well, he is not in this episode and still you can feel the danger he possesses, yet he was a laughable throwaway "villain of the week" in Ant-Man 3.

Regardless, Kang and all that stuff aside, this episode is just fine and I'm kinda being generous here with my rating, but it's still an enjoyable episode and really funny too. I wouldn't really mind the first episode of the season being like this and having less plot progression or story revelation if the season was over 10 episodes and also all of them were 1 hour long. But this is Disney Plus we're talking about, half of the episodes of their shows are just 30 minutes.

Loki is the best show MCU show since Loki, there's no denying that. There's just so much about it that differentiates it from the rest that even aesthetically makes it more appealing and enjoyable to watch. It also helps that the characters are actually likable. I just love the retro-futurism of everything in the TVA. Just a great choice for the look of the show.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good start to the second season and reintroduction to this universe, but not much happens story-wise other than some hints. I'm just disappointed that Loki happened 2 years ago and we saw zero impact from the finale of the show in the movie universe. I really thought everything was gonna change in the MCU after watching that finale in 2021, but we got all the mid regular Marvel movies we got in these past two phases instead. I wouldn't've really had a problem if they didn't connect this show to the movies, but apart from Ant-Man 3 - which wasn't even related to Loki I think - nothing in the timeline and multiverse of the movies for the past two years changed as a result of Loki's season 1 finale.

Anyway, I hope the season gets better as it goes on, because it's been a minute since I was remotely interested in the MCU.

He's Back !
tristan_196 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What a fantastic premiere ! Loki picks back up right where it left us. The stakes, the tension and everything has more urgency than ever. Our heroes are running against time in more ways than one. When Loki finally gets to the right spot, the main goal is to have a Loki who Remains and stops disappearing.

O. B. Is quite the character and fits right in. There's a particular sequence going between past and present, or present and future, depending, that is so well done and where O. B. progressively remembers certain elements. It was amazingly written.

Owen Wilson is still as likable as ever as Mobius and proves one more time he is ready to do anything to save his friend. What a wholesome friendship. There was so much tension in the Temporal Loom, it was insane.

Sylvie gets to experience life like for the first time ever, and you can't help yourself being emotional when she utters the last line of the episode : "I wanna try everything". Wow. Let's Go for another amazing season I'm sure !

Ouroboros
Prismark108 October 2023
I did think that the finale of season one of Loki dropped the ball. Kang was introduced and unleashed across the multiverse. My thoughts as a casual was, who is this guy.

The second season introduces Ouroboros or OB played by Ke Huy Quan. Fresh from his Oscar win, OB is TVA agent in the repairs department that has to figure why Loki is time slipping.

In order to figure it out. The show adds some Back to the Future mixed with Bill & Ted.

The first episode of the second series continues the bromance between Loki and Morbius. OB is also there for the fun.

The other story arc for the new series involved the TVA itself. One group wanting to save the timeline to stop a threat from taking over the TVA. The other wanting to change it by allowing the threat to succeed.

In all this Loki might revert to being a self obsessed villain again.

When Sylvie changed the multiverse she also replaced the writers from Season 1, and the new ones didn't bother to watch last season.
mellowgeekstudio11 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The previous season clearly setup that Loki was in an alternate universe where Kang was the rules. Now they totally changed that cool premise to the illogical explanation that it was actually the past that no one on TVA remembers, even though Kang wasn´t supposed to exist in the past of that timeline because "he who remains" whole stick was to precisely prevent that from happenning.

This story doesn't make a lick of sense. It feels like the writers were replaced and the new ones never watched season 01.

To top that, the episode filled with dumb jokes. And then the most grating character keeps repeating the same unfunny routine over and over again. Do people like this freaking actor just bacause they liked him as a kid on Temple of Doom? He is awful.

It's back
fashionxfun7 October 2023
Marvel has been going downhill since endgame I used to be one of those fans that would defend marvel whenever someone said this but over and over again I've been proven wrong...the MCU used to be the standard but now it's just regarded as just another bloated franchise that's pumping out projects just to stay relevant.. the reason why I was so ready to fight anyone who said this was because of LOKI and WANDA VISION.. these two tv shows showed that it is possible to make a superhero tv show on a large scale and now with this show coming back and delivering one heck of an episode my hope is partially restored..btw isn't it kind of weird that the man in charge of Loki is the same person who was in charge of MOM?

Great Premiere Episode!
ja-lens8 October 2023
I don't think it could've been better. This was a fantastic opening episode to the season. Hits the ground running immediately picking up where Season 1 left off and does not stop. That's one of the things I loved about this episode. It was intense and stressful and had me on the edge of my seat. The production design, cinematography and music remain some of the best parts of the series as well continuing from season 1. All of the actors including Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Ke Huy Quan, etc all are amazing here in the episode as well. Hiddleston does a really great job here portraying the various emotions Loki experiences here.

Worth the wait!!!
redstripes-808927 October 2023
Oh man. We just returned to the TVA with all guns blazing! When Phase 4 started, we had a pretty solid run up until the end of 2021. WandaVision, Loki, Shang-Chi, and No Way Home we all fantastic while F&WS and Hawkeye were still very enjoyable in their own rights. But since 2022 kicked off, the MCU has been VERY hit or miss with a lot of the emphasis leaning more towards the miss. There have been very few titles to come out of the last two years that have really left us with that same excited feeling that we used to get pre-Endgame. But holy cow, I was LITERALLY on the edge of my seat leaning forward towards the TV throughout the entire season premiere! We got immediately thrown right into the action and for the next 40 minutes, we were on a nonstop heart-racing roller coaster ride! Nothing but stakes through the entire episode! I absolutely cannot to see where the rest of the season takes us.

It also goes without saying, but Ke Huy Quan was absolutely phenomenal! So glad he's joined the MCU family.

Can't wait for E2!
phildonoghue6 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, this was a great first episode. The Loki series has been the best thing to come out of the MCU after Endgame in my opinion, and this episode was no exception. They need to keep their writing team close by because they shouldn't change a thing. During the scene in the elevator. Mobius is explaining to Loki how it looks when he is "time splitting". The line "being born or dying, or both at the same time" is heavily related to this episode's title, 'Ouroborus' which is also very fittingly the name of the character they are on their way to see in order to figure out what is actually happening to Loki. This small detail alone sets the tone of how well written this show really is. Keep it coming.

Intense and high stakes everywhere.
jeremiahjijdesignermin6 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I've been waiting for an MCU Disney+ Series to deliver something like this, and it has. The characters are all well written and had a great place to shine, and the build up for that final intense scene was so well done, so there really is some risk and stakes at play for Mobius and Loki. So excited for the next episode and can't wait to see sylvie!! I like the pacing of the episode and that the First episode didn't feel like boring filler. Season One's made sense, but it just felt like it was missing alot. This episode felt like I was watching like episode Three. Acting and performances are amazing.

One of the things Marvel does well
rseregin8 October 2023
One thing the MCU has never faltered in is casting. I don't think there's been a single notable character that was badly cast or didn't fit the vibe. And Tom Hiddleston proves it on so many levels in this first episode. And the supporting cast measures up on each of those; no scene is boring, and I'm instantly invested in the story all over even though I haven't watched the first season since it came out. I still believe the MCU can make a comeback, if they allow the writers, actors, and directors to create something meaningful instead of just furthering some insanely convoluted story.

Can't wait to see more.

Most censored on IMDb... That's me.
ThunderKing610 October 2023
Here we are again.

The most censored person on IMDb.

I did write that review on October 6th 2023rd in the fall season.

I wrote a neutral review about episode 1 stating it was okay. And guess what. IMDb removed the review.

This is why I rarely spend a dime on streaming services because my reviews get removed.

I wish we could all Do the same and not support these services in sake for our reviews. But sheeple will be sheeple. No discipline.

Anyways.

Loki episode 1 of the seasons 2 was only okay. Nothing bad or major happened. I'm not mad. I don't hate the show.

I'm still excited for episode 2 of season 2.

Warning: Spoilers
Alright, so here we go!

Season 2 starts right off where season 1 left and there begins all the twists and turns. The episode holds you tight right from the beginning and grabs your attention throughout.

As Loki time slips in the TVA between the past and present, chaos reigns from all those branches formed when Sylvie killed He Who Remains.

Loki and Mobius reunite and their chemistry is magnificent as always!

Totally loved the fact that since the first episode itself every detail is paid attention to and the story builds up right from the first scene!

Well obviously a lot of questions, a lot of theories after this episode for could possibly lie ahead but one thing if for certain that we are in for a crazy yet glorious ride and can't wait for the next episodes already!

And yes we do get a mid-cricket scene as well.

Episode 201
bobcobb3011 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
We should count ourselves lucky that Loki got a second season as most of the Marvel shows do not, but you have to wonder if there is enough meat on the bones to really make this worth watching.

It is the same thing over and over again, mumbling about incoherent timelines and concepts that don't make sense and not really moving anything forward.

I think Disney+ was smart to greenlight a show around this character, but we're starting to see that there is just not enough story to tell. The concept of timelines is scary, but we get it, you have to give us something else week to week or I'll get bored.

Someone remind me
roshanfrancke-531766 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Only one problem with this episode and it's that I thought we established in Endgame that whatever you do in the past doesn't effect the future but instead creates a different reality. It seems we have thrown that out the window. Then again this may be a plot line that's followed up or perhaps since the TVA doesn't apparently conform to time passing, that maybe not how it works. The episode also had some messy dialogue which to me didn't seem to make sense for characters. Overall I did like our introduction to OB, he will be a fun addition to the crew. Either way it was an ok episode, very dialogue heavy and might be a bit to much for some viewers but still carrying on the story. It's good to be back with one of our favourite asgardian (adopted) siblings.

Low-energy exposition dump
HeroOfTomorrow11 October 2023
I watched the first season of Loki with some enjoyment, even though I felt like it not only ruined Loki as a character (he's not supposed to be a nice, fun guy, ok?), but also ruined literally all the stakes in the entire MCU (if the infinity stones are paperweights to the TVA, why should I ever care what happens?). I was curious to find out what they'd do in Season 2.

I guess the answer to that is "mumble techno-babble exposition at you for 40 minutes". Wow, this episode was a SLOG. Not only is the dialogue actively calling you an idiot by spelling out literally everything that happens; it's also sound-mixed in a way that makes it come across as muffled and low-energy, especially when layered over the too-soft music and barely-there background foley. Weird. Secondly, Tom Hiddleston is just trying too hard. Every pose, every movement, every sentence comes across so forced and "look at me, mom, I'm acting!", I couldn't get immersed. Owen Wilson doesn't fare much better. The guy from Everything Everywhere is great, but he just kept reminding me that that movie is SO MUCH BETTER than the current MCU's multiverse of stupidity.

And the plot? I dunno. Even though this season only contains 6 episodes, this first episode is SLOOOOOOW and contains very little content. I was actually surprised when the credits came up, because I literally did not know what I was supposed to take away from this.

Not a good start to the continuation of an already shaky foundation.
