Loki: Ouroboros (2023)
Worth the wait!!!
Oh man. We just returned to the TVA with all guns blazing! When Phase 4 started, we had a pretty solid run up until the end of 2021. WandaVision, Loki, Shang-Chi, and No Way Home we all fantastic while F&WS and Hawkeye were still very enjoyable in their own rights. But since 2022 kicked off, the MCU has been VERY hit or miss with a lot of the emphasis leaning more towards the miss. There have been very few titles to come out of the last two years that have really left us with that same excited feeling that we used to get pre-Endgame. But holy cow, I was LITERALLY on the edge of my seat leaning forward towards the TV throughout the entire season premiere! We got immediately thrown right into the action and for the next 40 minutes, we were on a nonstop heart-racing roller coaster ride! Nothing but stakes through the entire episode! I absolutely cannot to see where the rest of the season takes us.
It also goes without saying, but Ke Huy Quan was absolutely phenomenal! So glad he's joined the MCU family.
WandaVision: On a Very Special Episode... (2021)
I REALLY wish.......
....that I hadn't known in advance that Evan Peters would be appearing in the show. Those paying close attention to the behind the scenes likely heard that his casting was announced many, many months ago so I was expecting him to show up eventually. But after finally seeing his debut, I really wish I had no clue he'd be in the show at all because I absolutely would have loved the shock value.
But as far as the way they debuted him in general? Absolutely brilliant writing. Wanda just explained to her kids prior in the episode that you can't cheat death by bringing those you love back to life. While she's talking about the dog in this particular situation, it also reminds her of her brother that she lost. So what does she do? Instead of bringing him back to life, she simply "re-casts" him. That is GENIUS on the part of the writers. It not only follows continuity logic we often see in real sitcoms when cast members get re-cast and thus follows the sitcom setting of WandaVision, but it also works as the perfect way to kick off the multiverse we'll be seeing in future MCU installments. This show is doing EVERYTHING right and is a phenomenal way to kick off Phase 4.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The End (2018)
Great episode, but a little bummed because.......
I just finished binge watching the season on Netflix and while it was a great ending, I had to come on here to mention this because something kinda irked me.
I kept waiting for the "snap". I had been waiting for it as soon as they mentioned in episode 19 that New York had been invaded and the Remorath kept on mentioning Thanos. My assumption was that THAT was how they would defeat General Talbot. He would get snapped out of existence. They also brought up several times throughout the season that Mack was gonna die and how "this was the last time anyone saw Daisy Johnson alive". And again, I assumed it was because they were gonna get snapped as well. But the snap never came.
Upon writing this, I'm now reading here that this was intended to be the series finale and if that's the case, I now understand why they ended it the way they did. They wanted a happier ending rather than a cliffhanger because of the snap. But since that season 6 has been confirmed, the continuity doesn't make sense now. Unless of course they actually start off season 6 with the snap, or at least the aftermath of it.
Inhumans (2017)
I don't understand all the hate
I really didn't think I'd be in the minority, but considering I didn't know what to expect going in, I really liked it! I thought it was a LOT better than Agents of SHIELD which I find myself sometimes struggling to get through. I know it's still early and I can only base this off the first two episodes, but I'd honestly put Inhumans up there with the Arrowverse in terms of how much I enjoyed it. I didn't want it to end when it did.
