You Have Failed This Universe
ThomasDrufke15 January 2020
It's no secret that I've been critical of some of the choices the CW and showrunners have made regarding the "death" of Oliver. Sure, he had the sendoff with some characters from Arrow in the episode prior to Crisis, but to not have Diggle & other close ones in the crossover episode in which he dies? A massive mistake. With that said, this episode did a nice job of fixing those mistakes and presenting an interesting way to send the character off that provided closure & a sense of hope for this universe (even if I won't be one of the people watching the Arrowverse going forward). I would be remiss if I didn't mention the shocking cameo from Ezra Miller as The Flash in the brief scene with our Flash, Grant Gustin. I never in a million years thought that crossover would be possible, even if it's a one-off and more than likely the first and only time we see such a crossover. As I will also say with the second episode of the Crisis finale, overall it was a welcomed return and ending for our favorite emerald archer, though i didn't have much hope for either part 4 or 5 anyway.

REALLY cool.

Just wow. The film style was really impressive. I felt the need to leave a review on this one 'cause... there's just something special. There were specific scenes, little details, that made me, as a writer, get all excited and fanboy-y. This episode was such a throwback, it really made me happy. Amazing.

PART 4

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was pretty good. The episode had the best pacing. The nostalgia, the scenes look of Arrow and flash was nice. The best part was Ezra Miller's and Grant Gustin's meeting. I never thought that would happen and yet it did. Just a great moment. The climax of the episode was also good, the heroes uniting to fight the villains. The fight was a little disappointing if I'm being honest. But a decent all together

Warning: Spoilers
Crisis on Infinite Earths cannot possibly get any better at this point. This episode was just absolutely amazing. The whole plotline with Barry, Oliver, and the speedforce was so intriguing and cool that is kept me hooked the whole time. And tha6 cameo from EZRA MILLER'S FLASH. LIKE WHAT THE HELL!!!!!! Does this mean that the Arrowverse is connected to the DCEU?! Because that would be sick. The Monitor and Anti-Monitor's creation was also really interesting and opens up a lot of questions. The acting is great for the most part. The visuals are better then they have ever been. The cinematography is also really cool, especially the scenes in the speedforce. The action is also really good and the Anti-Monitor looks like a force to reckoned with. The episode ends with Oliver sacrificing himself to rebirth the universe. Can't wait to see where this goes in the finale. Crisis is everything that the Arrowverse could and should be.

Final rating: 9.9/10

This crossover continues with the epicness! First of all talk about the acting and the cinematography. And bunch of cool camera works. How they tied in the DCEU Flash is awesome! And how the all paragons fought, that gave me chills. And that last scene with Ollie... Damn! Everything was just phenomenal, 10/10!

Such a great episode... Everything about it was simply awesome. Best part was Ezra Miller's cameo appearance with Grant Gustin. Oliver becoming the spectre only to die again, all the paragons fighting against the anti monitor and what not. The writing, the acting everything was just amazing... I wish i could rate it a 100 out of 10

An emotional and dramatic send off for the father of the Arrowverse!
RahulM00715 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The fourth part of Crisis on Infinite Earths delivered on all levels and was truly worth the wait. I loved how this episode had numerous references and Easter eggs to previous seasons.

Right off the bat, the episode started on a high note. The opening scene focused on the Monitor's backstory and how he released his adversary the Anti Monitor. I never thought that the Monitor had a wife in his previous life. I always suspected that the Monitor is incapable of feeling any kind of human emotion.

I adored the scene where Oliver has a sort of "Jedi" training to become the Spectre. The Spectre costume looks amazing both on and off screen.

The Ezra Miller cameo appearance took me completely off guard. I never believed that the DCEU's Flash and Arrowverse's Flash would meet. This scene felt incredibly surreal and humorous at the same time.

The countless interactions Barry had with Oliver pulled on my heart strings immensely. It was quite evident that Oliver passed on the baton to Barry. Oliver is no longer the face of the Arrowverse. Barry Allen aka the Flash became the leader and the face of the Arrowverse in this episode.

To conclude, I loved every single moment of this episode. It completely nullifies Oliver's death in part 1 and gives him a proper and satisfying ending. I am quite intrigued to find out how the series finale will play out.

Crossover Fail?
Anonnamus8 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The question mark is because I'm still confused as to what I just watched. This has been the worst episode I've seen this season and it was the crossover. After so much hype about the upcoming Crisis, it ends like this? They stood stoically and stared at the battle happening between the Anti-Monitor and Guru Oliver? Barry went zooming around the Speed Force to find parts of Oliver and the rest of the gang and ran into some random Flash guy at STAR labs. I'm assuming I'm supposed to know who he was, but I don't.

  • Lex Luthor had what purpose, other than to show off his piece of paper and his upgraded light beam hands? He did fight some shadow demons, so that's cool.

  • It was very nice of the shadow demons and Anti-Monitor to wait until the Paragons had their little team meeting before attacking. That was appreciated.

  • I did really like the whole movie quality of part of the episode. That was actually pretty cool.

  • It all ended by Oliver finding his inner Supergirl and somehow defeating the Anti-Monitor with the laser beams he shot out of his eyeholes? I must have missed something. At least his last line uttered was pure Oliver Queen: "You have failed this universe."

  • I realize the ending scene where Oliver was giving his death speech was supposed to have emotional impact, but this was the second one this crossover. Dead Oliver being deader didn't have the effect on me that perhaps it should have.

I understand that I have another crossover to watch, but I honestly think Oliver deserves a better ending to his story than this one. I'm hoping that I will get to see it. Thanks for bringing about this new timeline, Nora West-Allen. Like your mother, you suck up any joy and life around you. This episode was just meh. I'm sure I'm in the minority.

Crisis on infinite EARTHs part 4- review
chetanya-3792015 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Perfect! That is how I would define the episode. Arrowverse really up it's game fo this episode. Although the episode was just an hour long but at point if felt like, this should have been the justice league movie. The CGI and the Cinematography is just amazing in the episode. Again, it felt more like a movie. Especially with the heavy CGI, similar to those that are used in big time superhero movies. Now coming to the story part. It was nicely done, nothing felt like its out of order. The relationships and bond theme really took the plot forward and made it more emotional and captivating. Though at the end it felt a little on the rainbow side, but it is a superhero and comic property so not much to complain there. The Arrow, now becomed the Spectre acted as mentor to the paragons. Also, a great thing that happened in this episode is that unlike the previous crossover episodes each character is given adequate screen time and role in the story. Not the making it an all arrow episode. This is something that fans have complained about CW' crossovers in the past. To conclude, it was great episode. I would even say that it was the best Arrowverse episode till now. Hell, even Ezra Miller Flash showed up. That was a nice touch.

An interesting attempt
rrberthelot6 August 2020
I can understand why this episode may be divisive for fans. It's not a particularly good episode. It's certainly can't stand on its own merits and was never intended to.

It does show how far television has come as a media and thaf there will always be inherent difference in comic books and television as mediume, but business is business. It's fascinating that the DC shows found themselves in the same perdicament as DC did when crisis was published. it was a bold choice for the producers to try and tell a similar story to accomplish the same goal. It was an excellent choice to hire Marv Wolfman to help with the teleplay.

But a television show is not a comic book. And even though photoshop has made it possible for TV producers to attempt the same kind of cosmically large stories comics have always been able to tell- better effects will never make a comic image the same as a TV one.

For my own take, the dialogue was not very good. They tried to hard to fit in to many in jokes and references. It got stilted quickly. Also being a fan of early DC, I couldn't help but feeling the Spectre was the wrong choice. His power seemed wasted, and he's less, IMHO, a cosmic being a more a supernatural one. Though at the moment I can't think of a better entity, as DC most powerful beings tend to be magical: The Wizard Shazam, The Phantom Stranger, and Doctor Fate for example. It might have been a good time to introduce the emotional spectrum to the small screen universe, but I'm sure there were practical and fiscal reasons for Evey decision made.

And that's why, for a change, I'm willing to give an A for effort. This was a bold attempt to recpature the magic of a groundbreaking comic series in a completely different format with many more limitations. The end result was entertaining enough, if needing some polish, and respectful of the source material while playing to a different audience I'm completely different market.

This was dorktastic and not in a good way. They tried too hard and made the story sporadic to the point nothing made sense. What a lame episode.

Amazing!
Zaid_Khoury15 January 2020
It was just an overall experience, the way this was shot was spectacular, they really did increase the budget for this crossover. Loved the extra cameos, this truly was an amazing way to send off the arrowverse, it delivered so many heroes, it really did start with him, but a start must have an ending. It was such a happy but sad ending.

An end... And a beginning
amanollahia15 January 2020
If you want to sum up this episode, it is a roller coaster of emotions, it gives us a lot and i mean to much to talk about, so many amazing spots to enjoy them and unforgettable moments which makes us remember our past and memories with Arrowverse and DC in general or be hopeful for an even more interesting future. when you want to criticize it or compare it with certain things, please keep that in mind how much money and how much heart is invested in it, definitely the amount of love and heart for making this crossover is more than the budget it had. I'm so grateful for the hard work and dedication they had, not just for this crossover but every single DC programs that they made for us which now they got us to here to have such a unique and one of a kind feeling, it literally feels like experience living on another earth even if it is for just 42 minutes. an era ended with this episode but something else begins with its end, something bigger that i hope it become better too. we had so many good memories and some regrets too, but now the future is ahead us and i am so excited for it but just as worry too, what happened is in the past and we can't do anything about it(#snydercut) but the future matters, that's the reason we have to keep going and no matter how scary it looks like i am sure we will have something even better and bigger in the future and i can't wait for that to come. but now i just want one thing and that's to show Arrowverse creators and stars and all of fans how much i loved this journey, every masterpiece episode every filler every episode that we hope we could forget about them, all of them was part of it journey and i lived with it, i've grown with them in past years and i hope they made me a better person, from the bottom of my heart thank you all, thank you so very much, I will never forget it. Thank you, Oliver.

This episode really did me in. It was emotional. Had very high stakes. If it makes a grown ass man tear up then it was gold. Also the cameo from Ezra Miller's flash was a major but pleasant surprise

Oh boy, this episode was an emotional roller coaster!
juniorlusa16 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I just felt in the need to write my first review ever, because this episode was AMAZING! They handle Oliver's sacrifice brilliantly, it was emotional and it felt like we were saying a proper goodbye to CW's oldest hero. Besides, everything else, from Ezra Miller's surprise cameo to the great fight in the Dawn Of Times (that, although it wasn't the most well done fight in CW's history, it had the necessary emotional weight) was MAGNIFICENT!

Pretty underwhelming
Mardolin15 January 2020
To be honest, this episode felt really out of place. The acting was weird, and the bad sound effects ruined it for me.

As a non native speaker I had a really hard time understanding the distorted voices, it was just bad in general.

The story felt rushed, no real explanation on how or why anything in this episode happened. I don't watch arrow, so I didn't get any of the nostalgia people were talking about.

Overall, an average TV episode with some cameos that were super cringe and obviously made with a green-screen. Like so many other shots, it was really noticeable.

A Fitting farewell to CW's flagship character

Amazing on a television budget I enjoyed this immensely and found it more emotional than Endgame. Thanks for the memories, Mr. Amell...it's been a great ride and Flash is good enough to carry the torch as centerpiece to the CW DC universe.

The good, the bad and the ugly.
kbarokut22 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So no budget for Candice Pattison and some other actors/actresses but you somehow have a budget for a freaking Blue Gigantic CGI Teddy Bear named Beebo. Wth.

Crisis cameos were good, story overall was terrible. Weak plot, weak/lazy writing, rushed, no unique motive for the villain Anti Monitor except he wants to rule the AntiMatter universe.....(lame)...no Reverse Flash which really would've been a turning point, cheesy/cringe lines especially from Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. Should I list more? I'd rate it 6/10 or possibly 5.5/10. The major redeeming factors as mentioned before are the cameos and the acting of some casts. That's it.

Seriously. What did I just watch? "crisis" is absolutely ridiculous and the worst of all the crossovers. Everyone raving about it are absolutely nuts. "You've failed this universe"? Haha, what a joke. So dumb.

Pas82515 January 2020
This was the best hour of the crisis so far! We get to see some really nostalgic scenes and they ended teaching something to the characteres. I thought that maybe should have been more fights scenes but I think that the episode was really good and made me want to see what will happen next.
