HE COULD'VE SAVED ASHA

Warning: Spoilers
The most ridiculous death on TV. Layton could've easily reached and grabbed Asha, or taken off the equipment and jumped down since it wasn't dangerous anymore.

Still a chore to watch

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert:

It feels like nothing happens in this show anymore. The story so far could have been told in 3 episodes, there is a lot of filler to try and build characters but it falls flat.

I wasn't attached to Asha in any way as they have barely given her any meaningful screen time, but why kill her off? She brought a lot of intrigue when she was introduced to the show, but they just wasted 8 episodes doing nothing with her then killed her off to a boring filler reason. I feel like they are trying to be like Game of Thrones and shock the viewers with character deaths but these characters were barely meaningful to begin with.

The only character whose death would have been significant is Melanie. But we all knew since the end of season 2 that she's still alive, when they didn't find her body.

Admit it was better

Warning: Spoilers
Despite 3x08 felt like a filler episode, it contained lots of good scenes and cliffhangers like Melanie and the Icebreaker as well as Dr "whatever her name is" secret plan.

We also see Asha's unexpected death which was worth it, since she saved the train and sacrificed herself but I personally believed she should play an important role in the final episodes of season 3 along with season 4.

The plot may lack in content but from what I've seen there are plenty of things to tell in the final two episodes.

Imma give it an 8.25.

Too much depending on a new cliff hanger
imdbJanValk16 March 2022
While this episode was better then previous episode disaster, it still was boring and stretching. They just invented a new dilemma and a way to get through it. Clearly another case of writers have no clue what to do to stretch this series. But what I hated most is trying to hook the viewers by giving a huge cliff hanger at the end. You can only use the cliff hanger card a few times before I ditch the whole series. Season 1 and 2 were good but now it is gets to stretching to get the money in. No tv-series or movie without good story lasts. No matter how much snow and ice you put into it.

The last 2 episodes

The last 2 episodes were so boring. They could have done a 5 minutes episode instead.

I liked this show but now I wish we're getting close to the end.

Post Scriptum to writers: if you want to get rid of someone, please pick up Layton!

Filler that drags on
illya-yanchuk27 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Felt this episode was yet another filler one. Really dragged out for character development, painfully so. The show overall is starting to get too many cliche cheesy "sentimental" moments, like the one in this episode where Layton describes what a fantasized New Eden is going to be like to dying Asha. I mean - how many times has this exact thing been done in Hollywood productions? I don't think that a show needs to avoid ALL such clichés in order to be a good show, but I do think a good show needs to try to not repeat such momenta over and over again.

I'm really not sure why but things appear to have taken a big down turn, for me, in terms of writing in this show. Fingers crossed there will be more interesting, original and truly gripping content in the episodes to come.

No rationale
radagastdk16 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I know the series rationale takes a bit to swallow but here we are after 2+ seasons and it has been mostly ok.

Nevertheless some thought still need to work out and here it doesn't. This episode is the second in a row which do not deliver.

After learning some loose chance that Melanie is alive they gamble with 3000 lives on a whim. Going after Melanie is one thing but throwing caution out of the window is another. Driving the train into a volcanic acid cloud (or whatever it is) is simply so profoundly stupid it breaks the agreement with us viewers - that creative storytelling and action is ok as long as the story holds. Here it doesn't.

There is no checking of the train before going into the acid cloud and it makes no sense at all. Why the rush?

Of course there will be trouble as the equipment is old and some fake action and death happens. Sloppy writing which talks down to my intelligence. Hope it will be better but this was a serious crack.

The parallel "love story" between Bess and Audrey doesn't actually keep high hopes of the authors abilities - It is predictable and boring. No sense of importance or empathy is build into it and the hard pressed magic touch of Audrey is again out of place. Either we strive for science and technology or we strive for magic - can't do both so late in the storytelling.

Warning: Spoilers
Last two epiodes is like writers are changed like GOT last season. And this epiode is worst.

What a nonsense death of Asha. How he didn't cary her out. He could hold his breath.
