I didn't realize it was possible for a woman to be 'unusually' irritable.
lastliberal6 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
What price fidelity? Would you let your spouse die rather than admit that they may have been unfaithful? Is fidelity an unforgivable crime? These questions come up as a woman (Myndy Crist) is diagnosed with African Sleeping sickness. The problem is that neither she nor her husband have been to Africa. So one had to be unfaithful. Which one? House (Hugh Laurie) is again trying different treatments as people lie to him. Someone has to come clean. Then they have to deal with the aftereffects. Can you remain with a spouse that cheated on you? Is love incapable of dealing with a mistake? The story of fidelity raises some very interesting questions.

Who wouldn't have left her ?

Warning: Spoilers
I wouldn't disagree on him leaving her. Would anyone else ?

And even though you didn't hear what she told him, perhaps she told who she was screwing around with. If she said it was her husbands perhaps best friend, I could never have been able to life on with it.

Even from watching the start of the episode and the way his friend was talking, I couldn't see one good thing in the friend compared to the husband.

Well... who wouldn't leave her ? Btw, i vote 9 for this season, cause it did surely touch me that it could turn up "HATE" in me. Anyway, who wouldn't come up with being unfaithful to survive an illness ? I was actually looking for her husband to throw in a few punches on his friend in the last scene.

A Top Episode of House
DKosty12313 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
A woman lies to her husband about fidelity and nearly dies because she does? This might not sound like much but this episode presents it very well. Wait, there's more.

The sub-plot in the clinic has an 82 year old woman and her son seeing House and her complaint is one that many FOX viewers, and then CBS viewers can sympathasize with. Get this one, the 82 year old has the hots for Aston Kucher. As House says after he finds this out - "We have to admit her, she obviously has a personality dis-order." Anyone who watched 2 and one half men after Charlie Sheen left would agree with that one. In fact it turns out her brain is being eaten away by bugs which is kind of the feeling I got when watching Aston tried to replace Sheen. This episode sort of retold this story in a much different way.

I will not reveal the disease of the woman who lies to her husband, but the 82 year old has syphillis, which really explains her behavior. As for Ashton, he needs to go to the cooking channel, where he can be Chopped.

Love is Forgiveness
holy_big_sandwich24 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode of House teaches a valuable lesson on the characteristics of love and relationships.

When the suburban household becomes stale and isolating, people need to find comfort in something else, or someone else.

So what if they catch african sleeping sickness from the person they cheat on their spouse with? So what if that disease can be transmitted to their spouse through sex? So what if they lie to their spouse then eventually confess moments away from death?

Forgiveness is an infinite resource. I only hope most people who would ever find themselves in this situation would look deeply into their lying, cheating, selfish, greedy, egotistical, narcissistic, self-absorbed, smug, psychotic partner's eyes and forgive them.

House Quote: "Yeah.. see, if you're gonna repeat everything I say this conversation is gonna take twice as long."
