With the private investigator hiding in the bushes Cain kisses Charity, giving Sadie the proof she needs. Andy ends his relationship with Debbie to protect Daz.
Sadie shows Jimmy the photos of Charity & Cain but he isn't convinced. Tom's youngest son Max arrives in the village for the wedding. Charity & Tom enjoy their hen and stag nights.
Charity starts to put 2 and 2 together, working out where the staged photos came from and warns Sadie that she'll have revenge. Bob struggles to find a cleaner for the B&B.
McNally convinces Ethan to talk to him about Steph for the newspaper, but Alan isn't interested in doing the same. Debbie skips school and is distraught to discover that she is pregnant.
Alan isn't pleased to read a story about Shelly in the newspaper. Debbie is upset seeing Andy drinking with Libby. Alice tells Sam that she is moving to Norfolk after the auction. Terry recovers Alan's motorcycle but Alan doesn't want it anymore.
Sam tries to stop Alice from leaving by climbing on to the roof of the village hall, but Eric talks him in to kissing her instead. Ethan convinces Alan to give Steph a hearing.
Alan starts to question Steph's guilt and agrees to make an appeal for information on TV show "This Morning". Chas flirts with Denzel after he changes a flat tire.
Alan appears on ITV's "This Morning". Viv starts divorce proceedings against Bob, so he buys himself a motorcycle. Sam reveals to Alice that he ran Edna over. Len helps Jarvis fix his car.
Cain returns and admits to Charity that Sadie payed him to set her up, though he denies it to everyone else. Tom offers to buy Len's house. The police tell Alan that appearing on TV was a bad decision.
Zak throws Charity & Cain out, forcing them both to book in to the B&B. Eric confides in Val that he is close to ruin. Alice & Sam decide to spend the night together.
It's Zak's birthday and he receives gifts of Socks, Underpants, Maggotts and the TV Remote. Charity starts to win round Jimmy to her cause. Zak takes Sam fishing and talks him in to remaining in Emmerdale.
Carl snubs Chloe's romantic night in to go drinking with his brothers. Chas goes on a date with Denzel. Zak misses Sam but is heartened by a phone call from Norfolk.
Chloe secretly washes her contraceptive pills down the sink behind Carl's back before wangling herself an invite to Tom's dinner. Zoe leaves with Jean for a holiday in New York. Charity kisses Jimmy.
Alan is plagued by silent phone calls at the B&B. In prison Steph begins to have flashbacks of the night Shelly went missing. Jimmy agrees to go to France with Sadie. Chloe buys a dog called Fenella.
Chloe tells Carl that she's pregnant. Alan tells Keysell about the silent calls and he traces them to Cornwall. Steph practices being questioned for her trial.
Carl & Chloe agree on an abortion. Andy is disappointed to discover that Libby has a boyfriend. The police narrow down the silent calls to a phone box in Newquay.
Jimmy contacts Sadie's private investigator. Steph confesses to Ethan that she killed Shelly and changes her plea to guilty. Louise persuades Paul to be Terry's partner for the open-mic night.
After meeting with the private investigator, Jimmy learns that Sadie framed Charity. Bob & Viv win the the open-mic comedy night. The police question Steph but she can't remember how she killed Shelly.
Laurel returns from Africa and Ashley asks her to marry him. Alan decides to hold a memorial service for Shelly. Chloe works on winning Tom over at Sunday lunch.
Chloe pretends to fall down the stairs and is taken to hospital where she is told that she is not pregnant, but she lies to Carl, telling him that the baby is ok.
Chas pretends to get arrested to hide her relationship with Denzel from her family. Carl agrees to stand by Chloe after she threatens to go and live with Siobhan.
Chloe pesters Carl for sex to try and get pregnant. The villagers gather for Shelly's memorial service, Afterwards Alan is shocked when Shelly turns up.
Shelly explains to Alan why she hasn't been in contact. Chas tells her family that her boyfriend is Denzel and manages to convince them that having a police officer in the family may be an advantage.
Shelly tells the police that she will not press charges against Steph. DI Keysell tells Steph that they now know she is innocent and will be released. The Woolpack darts team play The Malt Shovel.
Ethan finally manages to convince Steph that Shelly is alive. Charity & Jimmy share an intimate moment on the sofa. Max gives his latest conquest, Tania, the brush off and avoids finding work. Shelly is concerned to learn Steph is due to be released the next day.
Steph returns to the village but receives a hostile reception at home, the B&B and in The Woolpack. Eric is told he faces six months in prison for fraud if his trading standards hearing goes badly.
Tom finds out that Max turned down a part time job with Paddy and offers to pay him to make it a full time position. Step attempts to win round the villagers by buying them cakes.
Max begins work at the Veterinary Practice and gets a date with Libby. Charity video tapes herself having sex with Jimmy in a hotel. Eric is found innocent after Steph takes the blame for the factory fraud.
Terry & Louise return from holiday in Scotland. Ashley & Ethan give Steph a task to keep her busy and out of their way. Charity gives Chas a copy of the sex tape for safe keeping.
It's Valentine's day and Charity gives Jimmy an unwanted gift, a copy of the sex tape, and demands £150,000 to destroy it. Ashley & Laurel decide on a date for their wedding.
Jimmy ransacks Charity's room and destroys her videos but Charity has backups and raises the price to £200,000. Eric discovers some antiques. Ethan tells Laurel that he doesn't believe the Bishop will allow Ashley to remarry.
Ashley goes to see Bishop George to seek his approval to marry Laurel. Jimmy gives Charity all his savings. Val worries about the extent of Eric's relationship with Glynis. Diane gives Jack's cloths to the jumble sale.
Ashley goes to Bishop George to apologise but ends up telling him that he has decided to resign. Lisa isn't pleased with Zak getting her a roasting tin for her birthday.
Ashley gets Ethan to cover the Sunday service but finds it difficult not being part of things. Viv & Paddy moan about their sex lives to Emily & Marlon.
Paddy tries to romance Emily but is interrupted by Viv determined to show everyone how lonely she is. Chas tries to convince Debbie that Charity was set up by Cain and Sadie.
Ashley realises that he was wrong to resign from the church. Viv manages to secure a date with Johnny, the Super-Fresh Foods sales rep. Charity tells her family that she'll soon be leaving the village.
Ashley tells Laurel that he has decided to retract his resignation and return to the Church, meaning their wedding must be canceled. Jimmy steals some of Sadie's jewelery to try and raise more of the money that he owes Charity.
The village tea dance goes well despite some reservations as tho whether Steph has poisoned the food or not. Debbie makes up with Charity after talking with Ethan.
As Charity prepares to leave the village, The Kings gather to celebrate Jimmy's 40th birthday but when Charity arrives and exposes Jimmy and Sadie all hell breaks loose.
