Sarah's first day of work at the professor's house. Betty comments on Alan not being drunk for a change. Because Luke danced with Tina, Dolores and Linda both end it with him. Caroline confesses that Kathy lied.
Kathy is still depressed. Eric tells Caroline that he is taking over the pub because Alan is in debt (to him). She offers to look at Alan's books. Alan tells Eric that she is doing the books, and he reacts badly. Tina Dingle starts school.
Tina threatens Jessica. Caroline tells Alan that Eric has stolen all his money, then lent it back to him with the pub being collateral. Zak makes trouble for Angharad. Alan confronts Eric, punches him and ousts him.
Zak and Butch steal a caravan with Betty and Seth in it. Luke approaches Dolores and she rejects him. Chris tries to cheer Kathy up. The police find the caravan abandoned, but Betty cracks the officer on the head with a frying pan.
Jack gets Seth and Betty from the police station. They have to stay at the Sugden's because the caravan is evidence. Alan seeks help from the brewery. Parents night at school. Tina joins the volunteers at school just to cause trouble.
Frank borrows a tow truck so he can steal Eric's car. Scott knocks on his door to tell him his car is back. It's been crushed. Zoe has an accident. Ned gets Linda's job back with Zoe.
Betty gives her statement to police. Zoe makes friends with Emma. Angharad and Bernard tell the kids they have had enough trouble, and they are moving to London.
Kim and Frank are going on holiday and she gives the keys to home farm to David. Betty looks at a permanent home to rent. Jessica and Luke don't want to move to London. Chris gets jealous over Kim owning part of the business.
Bernard informs Vic that they are leaving. Betty is sad that Seth would not move with her. He is living in the caravan. Luke is 18 and he decides he wants to stay in Emmerdale and finish his school year.
Dave takes the boys poaching. Betty says no to going back to work. Jessica has run away and Biff has hidden her in one of the cabins at Tate's holiday camp. Vic and Seth discuss making bootleg spirits while the pub is closed for repairs.
The pub opens. the Dingles win a free family dinner, cooked by Alan. Seth convinces Betty to come to the opening. Chris orders Rachel to go home, and she refuses.
Betty has Seth choosing wallpaper. Chris gets it from Kim for firing staff and making changes. Nick discovers Seth's still. Terry and Britt fight over his wandering eye.
Tina gives Alan a list of what the family will eat for their free dinner. They have invited 13 of their relatives. Frank welcomes Seth back and hires David back. Sarah works late again and the professor is getting a little too close.
The Dingles get outlandishly dressed to go to the Woolpack for their free dinner, but Alan ignored their wishes of fish and chips and cooked French food. Nick is stranded by the tide in Whitby. Kim offers to lend Zoe money.
Frank invites Rachel and Chris to dinner. The moonshiners get drunk sampling the goods. Tina approaches Luke, but her parents can't believe he did not leave with his parents.
Robert is getting anxious about his parents arguing. Seth and Vic are hung over. Jack checks up on Sarah. Vic sells moonshine to David for a party. Sarah celebrates the end of the book and Jack bursts in. Robert goes missing.
The search for Robert brings out the whole village. Jack's anger hits boiling point and he assaults the Professor. Zoe and Emma decide to move in together.
The Dingles join the search only because Sam thinks there is a reward. Terry tells a reporter the whole story only based on gossip, Tina makes a move on Luke. Night falls and still no Robert.
Terry's story hits the paper and people want to know who talked to the press. Scott and Roy go snooping in the shed and steal whiskey. Kim offers to buy Kathy's shares so Chris can't. Press conference goes badly.
Scott and Roy sell the stolen whiskey to Terry. Seth blames Biff or Vic for the missing whiskey. Chris proposes to Rachel. Kathy moves in and Rachel leaves in a huff. Little Robert is sleeping in a barn.
A farmer finds Robert and feeds him. The boys pour tea in the whiskey bottles to trap the thief. The kidnapper demands 5,000 for the return of Robert. Zoe and Emma search for a house to rent. Kathy and David have a drink.
Seth and Vic catch Scott and Roy stealing the tea filled whiskey bottles. Jessica comes back for a visit. Jack gets instructions for a drop. Sam Dingle is arrested for extortion. And all the Dingles spend the night in jail, but no Robert.
Terry Woods get sacked for the tea/whiskey. He goes after Scott, but punches Vic. Still no Robert. Dingles go to the Woolpack and explain that it was Sam and they were sorry. Sam is in custody.
Robert won't tell the man who he is, so he can't take him home. Viv and Betty order the destruction of the still. Nellie visits Sarah. The police visit the farm, but he farmer is too scared to tell them Robert is there. Kathy dates David.
Chris demands David be fired for dating Kathy. Frank says no. Man tells Robert he has to go home, now that he knows where he lives. Jack and Sarah are so worried.
Robert is dropped on the road and walks over the hill and meets Jack. He tells them he was staying in a caravan alone. David tells Kathy that she is using him to anger Chris, and walks out.
Chris tells Frank that Kathy has agreed to a divorce. Dingles steal sheep and Nellie gives them a piece of her mind. Robert tells Donna that he was on a secret mission for the army.
Sarah finds the medal Derek gave Robert. Ned knows who owns it and they rush over there. Britt has lunch with Gerald to try to get Terry's job back, but that's not what he is after. The man Derek Simpson gets arrested.
Sarah tells Robert she will try to get Jack to get his badge back. Police question Derek. Eric returns. Scott and Roy throw a brick through Zoe and Emma's window and Rachel almost gets hit.
Scott and Roy laugh when the girls get the window fixed. They have a house warming party. Eric is shunned. Zak catches Tina with Luke and beats him until Tina says she is pregnant. Every one is stunned.
Lady Weir get Eric to appraise a 800,000. painting telling her that it is worth 1,000. The same stunt he pulled on Frank. Roy discovers that he likes Donna. Men's night charity do is tonight.
Vic and Terry set up a men's only night, with them getting the profits. The Sugden's are off to Spain. Chris sees Kathy and David in the street, and is jealous. Alan tricks Eric into believing he is welcome at the Woolpack.
Lady Weir told Eric the painting he appraised was a copy, but it was the original and he knew it. She switched the paintings in the auction. Eric thought it was real so he bid 20,000. Frank, Alan, Weir and Betty got their revenge on him.
Kim advises Kathy to hold out for more money in the divorce so she can buy her shares from her. Kim is livid when Kathy agrees to the money. Vic wants to have boy's nights (strippers). Tina shows her engagement ring to Butch.
Tina tells Butch that Jessica wants to date him. Butch shows up and Jessica flees for her life. She runs to the pub for help, and Tina denies everything. Betty give the men a lecture on morality.
Luke is so wrapped up in Tina, that he does not believe Jessica and she decides to go back to London. Britt's "dead" father shows up and shocks Terry. Britt is not there, so he will come back and surprise her later.
Dave lets Biff stay at his place. Dingles want to plan a wedding. Biff goes back to the house and attacks Tina. Britt sees her "dead" father. Sugden's are just back from Spain when Annie calls to tell them Joe died in a car crash.
The whole village is devastated by Joe's death. Jack flies to Spain. Kathy tells Rachel and she goes into labour. Eric tries to con Luke out of his parents antiques.Tina tells her family that Luke will pay for the wedding. He objects.
It's a boy. Frank is so proud that the Tate line will continue, he invites Rachel and Chris to live at home farm. Kim is furious that he did not consult her.
Amos, Annie, Jack and Joe's body arrive from Spain. Amos goes to the Woolpack and has negative comments about the look of the place. Everyone reminisces about Joe.
Joe's funeral. Jack puts his back out and cannot go to the funeral. The Tates insist that Rachel not go either in case baby Joseph catches something. The Dingles descend on the funeral for the free food and drinks.
Biff is homeless and Betty lends him her caravan, providing he can move it from Jack's farm. Tina talks Terry into letting Biff use the car park at the pub. When Alan sees it towed there, he loses his temper.
