One of the most shocking endings NO SPOILERS
larosat24 March 2017
My jaw dropped to the floor with that ending. Holy hell. It was great how they tied a lot of different myths into the Grimm World. Now that the final protagonist is back in play; it should be a fantastic ending and I think they will deliver, unlike how many other shows have not done. Kudos to everyone involved with this excellent series.

How the staff got there....
inthepages29 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Is explained in the final episode. Nick had to hand over, willingly, his piece. Clearly, the other pieces were handed over and, therefore, Z was able to take them to the Other Place. The remaining piece couldn't go through because it did not belong, unless it was surrendered. Which it hadn't been.

Mistakes?

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILER!!!! Do not read this until AFTER you've watched this episode.

The series is very good and I've followed it from the start. And my rating for the series as a whole is a solid 8. But some episodes get a lower rating due to "mistakes" in the writing (and a few get higher due to acting achievements). But as I mentioned there have been some "mistakes" here and there along the way - things it seems the writers haven't even realised contradicts themselves or simply makes no sense. But this episode takes the cake. If the baddie wants the last part of his staff (Nick's magic stick - no pun intended) i.e. if the staff he has is made of all the other 99 pieces... then HOW is it possible that the stick could not go through to the other place (through the mirror) WITH Nick?? Diana said it's cause it doesn't belong there... but then HOW THE HECK did the baddie get all the other 99 pieces to that place????? Either the writers have made the entire cast out to look like imbeciles for even considering that background story of the staff - or they have completely missed out on creating a logical explanation for the staff conundrum. Trying to use "but it's the last piece" as an excuse would be pathetic, and still does not explain how all the other pieces could go to the place where they don't belong.

Setting that matter aside, I agree that it is a nice attempt to try to link in a number of other myths into the Grimm series.

Ugh! WHY?!?!?! Warning: Spoilers
I have loved this show for the most part up until this particular episode. For some reason, the writers suddenly became very stupid. Maybe they need more sleep or some energy drinks. But Eve/Juliette transformed back into the stupid, selfish, annoying version of herself (like how she was when she lost her memory in season 2), and went rogue, martyred herself, and made poor decisions that jeopardized everyone. Drives me nuts when she acts like that because it's so out of character for her. She's usually smart, logical, calm, and a team player.

Everyone kept calling Nick to "come see this" or that when time was of the essence and they could have just given him the info over the phone multiple times.

The writers never explained why Adalind didn't become the nasty version of herself again now that's she's once more a hexenbiest (after such a dramatic build up over this issue in previous episodes).

Certain characters stupidly charge into mortal combat, despite noticing that bullets couldn't harm the skull guy, and pay for it. And Nick never once thinks to use his stick as a weapon? Hmmm...

And Trubel magically shows up claiming the threat of black claw was completely defeated, despite previously being considered a worldwide issue. HUH???

Way to drop the ball, fellas. This episode was sooooo insulting to the viewers' intelligence that I felt enraged and had to leave this review. It takes a lot to get me to make the effort to write them... either in a positive or negative direction.

Eat some brain food 🥑🍎🍌💪before your next gig, writers. 🤦‍♀️ This was terrible.

Obviously show ran out of time and this happened

The entire show was reasonably well written. Even some of the more annoying plot points were worth it because for the most part the character development helped to support most of the events and shifts. But this, this insultingly stupid- what? Three-part series finale? It was a freaking Trainwreck of clashing weak and hurried writing and dramatism used simply for shock factor.

The only explanation I can come up with is that the show was cancelled before the showrunners were ready, so they had to cram another half season's worth of plot into 2/3 episodes. Rushed, sloppy, and even the acting was sometimes semi believable, as if the actors themselves felt the mediocrity of the writing, which is saying something when working on a fantasy tv show.

ALL characters started behaving OUT of character in this episode which completely led to the ending being predictable and campy. I don't want to write spoilers so I'm not going into specifics. But if you know, you know. There's a reason I don't tend to finish the shows I start. They almost always lose all reason when the finale comes into question. In a word? DISAPPOINTING.

I'll stick to rewatching the rest of the episodes minus these ending ones from now on. Which shows how good the writing always was, until the end, when it kinda really mattered you know?
