Kat is a successful lawyer and then she meets a handsome guy at the bar named Richard, who's a shrink and they fall in love and get married. So she puts her ambitions on hold and the newlyweds move away and into a neighborhood with a nosy and pretty neighbor who has her designs on Richard. One night, Kat gets a call from a woman who claims to be 6 months pregnant with his baby but he explains that she's a schizo patient he treated who fantasizes. Kat believes him. But her troubles are only starting as the pretty neighbor and Richard are getting cozy and the pregnant woman commits suicide. The movie drags a bit but Lifetime regular Brianna Cohen does a good job as the suspicious wife who finds out her husband is not who he says he is played nicely by Alex Trumble. Definitely worth a watch with a good plot!

This is quite a nice thriller and its clean and tidy. There isn't gore as such and no weirdo dreams or strange tripping. It follows the point of view of Kat, a newly married woman. When she first met her husband at the bar, he came across as slimy and then it jumped a whole year after, and then they were married. He seemed the sort of dude that women stay away from. He had terrible manners at the bar. Also the two sisters don't seem the type to go bar hopping anyway. Often these tough strong independent women characters in films are always dense, easily led astray and trusting the most flaky people. That neighbour was annoying and even more thick than Kat. This character is supposed to be running for office, okay. The old boyfriend was a bit emo for my liking.

I have never seen so many bad actors in the same movie. These actors are so bad it was annoying to hear them speak. I actually looked forward to the commercials.
The story is ridiculous. The story is about a lying, cheating husband who tries to frame his wife for two murders. In the story, a high school associate accuses Kat (Brianna Cohen) of drugging her at the prom, without any evidence. So that becomes a story in itself that is never completed. In a divorce hearing, Kat's husband Richard, played by Alex Trumble, who is representing himself, accuses her of adultery and murder without presenting any evidence, and the judge tells Kat, in a harsh tone, that she had better not leave town. How can he tell her that in a divorce hearing. She had not been indicted for Richard's accusations against her.
Grace McClanahan, who plays Kat's sister Alex, is the best actor in the cast. She is believable as Kat's concerned sister.
Kat is a city manager and she is suppose to be skilled at reading people. Yet, she lets Richard con her for a year? She took pills from Richard that he alleged to be sleeping pills. She was an intelligent woman so why would she take medication without researching it first. Richard accused her of attacking him after she took the pills. He told her that the pills made her delusional, untrusting and paranoid. Yet, she took them a second time. A very strange movie that left me with more questions than answers.

I stuck with this film (UK title My Husband's Secret Past) for about 45 minutes - including ad breaks for goodness sake! 😂 before giving up.
Pretty blond woman meets/is picked up by handsome stranger in a bar. He's a doctor with a very smooth chat-up line which, in films like this, instantly arouses suspicion in everyone. Except our heroine of course.
They've not been married a year when a mysterious phone call from a strange woman causes Kat to wonder about her husband.
Standard afternoon movie fare but for me the biggest mystery is why, when Mr & Mrs Newlywed move to their new house in a town they and their neighbours all refer to as "just over" (how far would that be, 10, 20 miles maybe?) it's as if they have arrived from Mars?
Does nobody travel to the next town to work or shop, to visit relatives or the theatre?
We then discover Kat actually grew up in this enclave, leaving after the high school prom where Something happened. (Heavy hints are dropped that the incident was traumatic for her - a broken heart? Or maybe a broken fingernail? Suspect her reaction would be the same either way) Why then, other than to stretch the plot beyond credibility, would she move back to the town? And moreover, become the mayor??
Plot holes can be forgiven if the characters and scenery are attractive but not so here.
The husband is so obviously a wrong 'un, he practically twirls his moustache while shouting "Ha Ha".
Man-eating neighbour Vivien welcomes the newcomers but instead of bringing cookies, squeaks like a mouse (Actor's usual tones or as directed? Trigger warning would help Also earplugs) and makes the most obvious pass at the dodgy doc. Stops short of dropping her drawers on the doorstep but you get my drift.
I couldn't stick with this movie but what I did see made me chuckle so there's that.

Worst movie, worst plot, WORST acting. I really enjoy the occasional TV movie that isn't taxing to watch even if it's predictable... but this. Oh dear.
I'll drivel on for a while just to reach the required characters so I can submit this review and others can be warned not to waste their time with it. The actors themselves may be embarrassed to have starred in it but then again, as the acting was so dreadful, perhaps they considered themselves lucky to get a part.
No need to write any spoilers because the outcome is obvious from the get go. Have nearly reached my minimum characters now so I'm done.

"Secrets in the Marriage" featured a strong set of leading and supporting characters. Kat met Richard in a bar, where he was quite the showman with his slick one-liners and skills in observation. Shortly thereafter, they were married. But how much did Kat really know about Richard?
As Kat and Richard are about to celebrate their first anniversary, Kat receives a strange phone call from a woman claiming that she was having an affair with Richard and that she was now pregnant. That phone call sets in motion a series of events that may undermine Kat's chances of running for mayor, and it might even jeopardize her life.
A theme in the conversations of Kat and Richard is the importance of trust in their marriage. It soon becomes apparent that one of the characters has broken the bond of trust through deception.
One of the most interesting characters was Marcos, an old boyfriend of Kat. Marcos is now a detective, and he proves himself useful in uncovering the true story of Richard. There is also the nosy neighbor Vivienne, whose flirtatious behavior will lead to her demise. Miriam is a reporter for the local paper, who has had an axe to grind against Kat since high school.
The film was briskly paced and featured an excellent ensemble cast. One of the best scenes was the arraignment in which Richard dynamically represented himself in court. That scene helped to build dramatic tension in an especially well-crafted thriller.
