Series Finally?
robertdlar24 May 2022
First off you need to know this has been one of my all time favorite comedies but this last season was definately its weakest and in the old days would have been the end for most comedies to make room for new programing. Most of the jokes are the same old stuff being recycled continously and its getting old fast.

The Smother joke is so old and tired it no longer even gets a smile out of you. Barry's stupidity is stale and boring and he has not changed one iota since day one. This is the same guy that going to become a doctor? Jeff and Erica are the only funny ones left on the shot since their relationship comedy is still fairly fresh.

The reason I gave this episode a 1 was the handling of Jeff Garlin. Now I am not here to condone or endorse his alleged actions on set but for 9 years he has been an intergal part of the show since day one and if this episode was going to be his characters last appearence they could have given him a final word to his graduating son even if it was to to say he was proud of him, instead of the CGI head replacement stuff.

I have no idea where they can go from here but I have very low expectations for next season. Knowing that Garlin was not returning, and the lower and lower ratings for the show, a smart show runner would have decided to end the show with Adam's graduation.

This season should be the last
urbanhobbit22 July 2022
As a loyal viewer of the Goldbergs from the first episode, this season barely resembles what the series once was. A fun story about three kids growing up in the 80s, with an overbearing but ultimately loveable Mother, (a reflection of creator Adam Goldberg's childhood memories.) The series has had several setbacks in recent years. Adam Goldberg leaving the series, the loss of the late George Segal as Mother Beverly's dad 'Pops', and this season's ultimate firing of Jeff Garlin as Beverly's husband Murray. The loss of Garlin seems to have been the final straw. Without either her father or husband there to rein her in, Beverly has become entirely unhinged and thoughtless, bullying and badgering everyone around her until they comply with her selfish desires. Every single episode.

The series natural conclusion would seem to be youngest child Adam's high school graduation. Especially considering the series obviously has no new stories to tell now that the kids have all grown up. Yet, inexplicably ABC has ordered another season. It will be interesting to see just how many viewers come back for more. This reviewer will not be among them.

All about the Money
GoldenGooner043 July 2022
This should be the last season of this show, not only is it stale and past it's sell by date, now we have the best character (who Yes deserved to be booted out) but the show is dead without him. The other actors are average at best and also losing the brilliant George Segal and now Garlin is gone. The foundations have gone and Bev is so fake, Take a Jewish mother and turn it up 300% well it's now very boring I know this show is a good gig for the actors money for nother it's time to say bye bye

I wonder if Mr. Garlin will be in the new season of Larry David's show, if there is another season?
