Sex & Nudity

  • Absolutely no sex or nudity, even though it is clear in this version that Clara and Drosselmeyer's nephew Hans-Peter do fall in love.
  • The Act II Pas de Deux is danced by the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. It is highly classical and not suggestive at all.
  • Clara and Hans-Peter's Pas de Deux in the first act is highly romantic, but not suggestively sensual.

Violence & Gore

  • A very mild battle with the mice.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The dancing dolls seem to enjoy teasing Clara and scaring her a little when the toys come to life at midnight, but there is nothing truly frightening here.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Because the fantasy events are not a dream and actually do take place in this version (Clara believes she was dreaming until almost the very end) the last few minutes strongly imply that Clara and Hans-Peter will eventually end up together in the real world.
