Not what I expected
peterkowalski27 June 2021
A show that nobody asked for, nobody knows about, and a lot will love.

"L'agence" truly is a refreshing departure from American top class listing shows, where the looks and the facade is what counts. The Parisian Agency focuses on what's more down to earth (well, almost. 18 million euros for an apartment, anyone?). No spoilers: you get a family run business, gorgeous locations aplenty, some small cliffhangers and one very cool grandma. Some successes, some failures, some chateaux, a sale here, a rent there. It's a variety entertainment show, and it never really stops.

I will be on the lookout for the next season. As far as reality tv goes, this one's a keeper.

Great surprise!
hayleywolfgramm3 July 2021
I never saw the trailer and started watching this by accident. Finished watching the entire season in a day. I enjoyed watching this family, their culture, how they interact with one another and the homes they sell. Witty grandma Majo is a plus.

Nice change from the same old million dollar listing NYC & LA. Where people are just about the sale/money and because of this, it starts becoming boring to watch as I can guess the narrative of each episode, they seem to lose their authenticity as individuals. This is 100% not scripted and a refreshing change.

geraldineaizenberg7811 March 2022
Love it, is real...is well filmed, is interesting. Clients seems real also, as the locations and houses. It got better now their going out of paris, you get to feel that you know the familly and learn about the real state and how they manage to run a family busnisses and enterprise managment.

This is not actually a review. I just felt the need to say that Majo is LIFE GOALS!

I hope she lives to be 190!

LOVE IT
dwelfusius4 March 2022
Yes, there are less properties than in other shows. Yes there is more focus on the family. But they are real, they act like a normal French family and I'm loving it. I'm not certain but it might help that I speak french and I'm watching it in the non-dubbed version. But I love the fact that there's no fake drama (like selling sunset, omg) no botox fake blonde jetset sellers. Just a breath of fresh air. More please!

This show kind of impressed me. It is so classy, cultural and nice, and as the most important part - is has a natural vibe. I like all membrers of Kretz family very much. This is a very different, relaxing reality show. Thumbs up :-)

Music sooooo bizarre
lcervantes1-146-52683511 March 2022
Love the show but hate the choices of music... very off putting and inappropriate for this show. Offensive lyrics when there's so much great hip hop that could be featured instead. New music supervisor please!

Beautiful in almost every way
redcrow518 March 2022
The only reason I give a 9 out of 10 is for the absolutely horrid and offensive "music" in the show. I don't know who is tuning into such a lovely show about beautiful places to be forced to listen to gangster rap in between scenes? Who's idea was this? Other than this, the show is amazing.

Fantastic with one giant fatal flaw
mw_dc11 June 2023
The family is charming and entertaining, the scenery is gorgeous, the homes are spectacular. Everything is classy. And it's all ruined with the awful ghetto music played between scenes. Whose idea was that? It really does make the show almost unwatchable. I have to mute the TV between every scene.

Anything else would be better, light classical, cool jazz, something French perhaps???? No, we get American hip-hop with all the vulgarity and charm of a swamp rat.

Many have complained about this, so perhaps someone at Netflix will get a clue. Yeah that will happen. For now, enjoy with the sound off and read the subtitles.

Love the show

I really love this show: the people, the images, the places, the narrative. It is great to follow this family around and see these amazing properties.

Hope to see season 3 soon.

Great show! Almost a 9
originalanglophile1 May 2022
Love the family and dynamics. They seem very genuine and it's fascinating to see the Parisian culture and lifestyle

My only complaints is that the music is AWFUL! Why are we listening to gangster rap in between with disgusting lyrics that English speakers have to read in between scenes. Also the subtitles move so fast that you are just reading the whole time and unable to really look at the properties.

Breath of Fresh "Parisian" Air
msmoothe744 January 2023
I love real estate shows and this one is by far my favorite! Firstly it takes place in France and several other beautiful European cities. Second it has an incredible family dynamic. The family works as a team and we are blessed with meeting their spouses and children. Third the estates and properties are FULL of incredible rich history! That makes for a fantastic series with architectural eye Candy. Plus the bonus of a lovely family who are all just good kind people individually. I cannot get enough of this series and hope for more and more! Majo melts my heart and the love between the family is touching.

Good family fun and insights into international vs domestic real estate sales
grhgeneric27 March 2022
A French family agency. Quite a different approach compared to US real estate. More casual and business is done on terms of liking each other. States more cutthroat, but more sales proficient and professional.

Season 4 Voiceovers Are Bad!
heatherrosandich28 May 2024
I loved the first three seasons on The Parisian Agency and was so excited to see season four just launched....but, I can't watch it...the voiceovers are so bad. It is distracting and makes it seem like a cheap foreign film. The voices of the family were part of what made the show interesting with them speaking french. Didn't mind the subtitles. Such a sweet family that shows how hard it is to work together yet how rewarding it can be. Maybe someday I will try to watch season 4 and learn to deal with the voiceovers, but not right now, it made me focus on their mouths moving and the words not matching what they were saying.

Sack the music supervisor...
Ilikeitbut8 March 2022
I love this show; the family, the properties, Paris. Bliss!

This would be a 10/10 but seriously, the Music Supervisor got it all wrong.

Big thumbs down for the noise (can't call it music) in the background. This could be such a great show and your poor choices have made it sound trashy.

Classy family selling expensive houses
oanalarissat24 March 2022
Enjoyable. Calibrated. It is light, not that much drama, you have the chance to see the process of selling houses from a trio perspective: the real estate agent, the seller, and the buyer. It is a nice family reality show I watch while on the elliptical; it makes me daydream of how my life would be if I had that amount of money. The fact that its audio is in French is a plus.

wish they engaged with the community
judylazcnm29 May 2024
I enjoyed the first seasons of this show. I appreciated the family connections and the humanity and care they share.

This season (4) just seemed over the top to me. Catering to people with so much money who can spend it on ultra luxurious housing - again, and again, and again. I wish there was some acknowledgment of and engatement in the world they live in - where there is hunger, and homelessness, and need. Do they engage in the world the rest of us live in? Is there any involvement with the community in any of the locations where they are selling? Local craftsmanship and materials were mentioned only in the context of a buyer's priorities - otherwise any thought of those issues does not come up alt all.

I am looking for more depth and substance in the show and was very disappointed not to see it at all this season. It feels like ithe focus in on how luxurious can a property be, how much does it cost, how amazing is it, and, in the rarified community they operate in, who can buy it? Where is the give back and the recognition of the rest of the world. Where are donations, fundraisers, supporting causes, giving back to places they frequent, like, for instance Marrakesh where they had an agency meeting.

I am really disappointed in season 4. Was close to boring because it was so repetitive by the last episode. More, more, more - important people, money, the family members being amazing. Would love to see omre of the 'real' world here.

Finished the whole season in one night!
imaanf-4816627 December 2021
I can't believe this show has been out for so long and I'm only watching it now. What a breath of fresh air. An overall theme of genuine, good family values with a hint of drama. Love it. I'm so tired of seeing girls in heels, 50 pounds of makeup, mini skirts, hair extensions, arguing 24/7 in these other type of agency series out there. Honestly, this show is a breath of fresh air. Only critic I would give is that substitutes are a bit draining to follow- can't easily just look at the video itself.

Ambivalent

Warning: Spoilers
Its absolutely addictive and I like the focus on the family. How much is real, I wonder.

I did find the father's emotions and the frankness of Majo affecting. I'm glad that the bothers stepped up and spent time with Majo. Valentin on the boat with the flowers (and his wife's show) was lovely. The section with the comedian seemed authentic.

Love the places they go. Love esp the scenes of Paris. BUT- most of the clients are entitled and beyond unpleasant and, after a while, the excesses start to be truly obscene. Kudos to the client who liked a property but requested something more modest. No one needs the type of money the clients increasingly fork out especially after seeing the property once (or not at all.) The clients aren't exacting and full of taste and class. Quite the opposite- they are often classless and entitled. As the properties get grander and more garish, the entire show sinks lower in its gleefully admiring portrayal of the clients the agency tries to please.

It's all class
mel-0842026 July 2021
I loved this show and the Kretz family. It's a show that has many gorgeous properties and the family is endearing and supportive of each other. There's not any back-stabby, fake drama and putting each other down that you see in a lot of the American reality real estate programs. This is a program of people who are actually nice to each other and also have a business together. It's all class. A refreshing change from American programming. I'm rooting for another season!

Typical French Family?
statchmo-317-1620865 June 2023
I've been watching this show since Season 1 and I admit it, I'm hooked. Just tore through the third season and was so sad when it was over. I'm an admitted Francophile and if nothing else I enjoy listening to this family speak French and with the subtitles, I can make believe I really understand what they are saying! (BA in French but it's been a few decades and I am rusty). I really want to know if they are a typical French family, apart from the high end nature of their business (luxury real estate). They are funny, smart, and so loving and supportive towards one another. It's not all hearts and flowers but I was honestly floored by how each family member, particularly the sons, stepped up when their grandmere admitted she is lonely and would like to spend more time with them. I think the brothers are particularly interesting because the 4 of them are similar in some ways, and so different in others. And each so charming and attractive in their own way. The locale and the properties are what made me watch in the first place, but it is the family interactions that keep me coming back for more. And yes, Majo is a remarkable woman and a real stitch!

Voiceovers Ruin it for Me
jasinski_ja24 May 2024
I've very much enjoyed the first three seasons of The Parisian Agency but I don't think I can continue with season 4. Am I the only one that greatly dislikes the jarring voiceovers? I miss hearing the family speaking in their own voices. I never minded the subtitles and, it being on Netflix, I could always pause and rewatch something I might have missed by trying to watch the action and reading the subtitles at the same time. However, this is not a complicated show and it was rarely a problem for me to follow along. It now feels like a cheap movie. It sounds fake and disjointed. The voices don't match the personalities and character of the conversations. I miss the sound of the beautiful French language. It was unique. What a huge negative difference the voiceovers have made for me. Why would Netflix do this? Did people complain? I don't even know how many stars to give. I would rate the first three seasons an 8 maybe but so far, season four is a total dud. I'm disappointed.

Thoroughly enjoyed.
susanhughestx22 July 2021
So refreshing to see a close family. They work well together and respect each other. The homes they show vary a lot. Enjoyed seeing the different types of architecture and design. From centuries old to modern design. Here in the states we do not architecture that old. The show has world renowned designers for some their properties. It is filmed in several locations in France, and Ibiza. The filming is beautiful. Netflix... please continue with more seasons. I will be there to watch.

Terrible music, enjoyable show
itsarobot26 July 2022
As another user has stated, the music is terrible. Who in their right mind pairs multimillion Euro properties with vulgar rap music? I'm a French expat and I know many people in my country like this music without completely understanding the lyrics, but any production aiming to appeal to a worldwide market should know better. Some of those lyrics are both offensive and misogynist. I happen to like a lot of rap and hip hop, but like all genres there's a limit.

That being said, the family is sweet, and close, Majo is awesome, the properties are amazing and the scenery is gorgeous. They must've really chosen their shoot days well to get that many clear, sunny days!

The sweetest show!

Love everyone on the show and the gorgeous apartments and scenery. Who is the girl with the dark hair who is sometimes in the show and in the Birthday video for Oliver?
