Good episode, but with some flaws
pauli_gomez17 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I liked this episode. It was interesting, and emotional and I did not know what to expect in the ending, so I enjoyed it. I also found the flashbacks very sweet, I liked to see Cat happy. And I approve her sincerity with her new beau.

I just have a couple of issues.

1) No one thought in calling Cisco to tell him that Ronnie is back? I am not saying they need the actor, just that a short mention to him would give more credibility to the story. "I called Cisco and he is delighted, but he can't come because..." or even "I could not reach Cisco, but he will be so happy to know..."?

2)The Iris subplot only distracted from the main event, and it made no sense that Sue did not call the Flash before. Yes, she did not have her own phone, but she could go to a cabin or just buy a new phone, she is a rich!

3) Chester has been sharing all his ideas and technology since the beginning, and no one told him it could be dangerous before Allegra? Caitln, Cisco, anyone? And especially Barry as his boss. STAR labs have no secrecy policy or something, even some agreement with the governmnet? I found this literally unbelievable.

Still, this season is much better than the previous one. I am happy.

Finally a decent story, about time
gareth-7544215 April 2022
It only took the best part of 6 seasons to finally do a decent story with a decent bad guy that wasn't a speedster, still too much focus on Iris & the pointless Flash fam/team/idiots, none of the dramady subplots add to or enhance any of the episodes, it's simply soap opera drivel for the sheep audience, too many pointless characters simply to tick boxes, about time this practice of putting pointless characters on screen for an idiotic viewer to "identify" with was stopped and just concentrate on telling a well structured story with interesting and exciting characters, get back to real storytelling and dump the soap melodrama, leave that to the endless TV shows that already pander to that and turn this show into what it's supposed to be, what it's always promised and failed at so far, an actual superhero show.

Better than last two ,but still not up to the mark
prometheus1987015 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is mainly focused on Caitlin which is not a bad thing. It's better than chuck or allegra or frost.

And this is the episode where Ronnie appears. He appear in flashbacks with Caitlin from the time he met to the time he proposed. It was nice to see Ronnie.

Regarding the black flame, yes it is Ronnie(sort of). And apparently wants to be saved from these flames, as everyone believes it is like hell for in those flames.

Barry and cecil believe that the black flame may not be the Ronnie they know, could be some evil guy. But Caitlin doesn't believe that and is adamant on saving her dead husband(as she should be). After a series of argument, Caitlin gets her way, and does end up saving Ronnie as we see Ronnie getting his physical form back.

The theme of this episode is about the resurrection of the dead/past. And it is shown that nothing good comes of it. Barry also gives some validation to the theme regarding the bad things that happened after Flashpoint which I thought was pretty nice when arguing with Caitlin. I think the theme fits this episode well, which had been lacking in the previous 2 episodes.

Back to the episode, now we see Ronnie stabilized in star labs with team flash apologizing to Caitlin about doubting her. Then some time later in the night, the twist happens, it turns out Ronnie isn't exactly Ronnie and he got what he wanted(the splicer thing which was used for firestorm)when Caitlin saved him. He says Ronnie is dead, and his death gave me life. And his villainous form comes out and says "I Am Deathstorm".

So the antagonist for this graphic novel is Deathstorm. I'll talk about Deathstorm in just a bit.

Now the iris part of the story.... So tinya gets mad as she thinks iris vapourised her mother and so uses her powers makes Iris go poof as well. LOL. Iris is transported to some other place mostly. Sue then tells barry of this incident and Barry is shocked. That's pretty much it.

This episode was pretty good honestly. It's not the best but still is not bad.

Overall:8/10.

The issues I have regarding this story as of now is that there is too much "talking" rather any action. When I mean action I don't literally mean fighting, I mean like doing things outside star labs with proper detective work. I just get the feeling that the writers are lazy to make Barry run around investigate properly and add more character to black flame in the previous 2 episodes.

Regarding iris, her story about the time sickness hasn't moved forward at all. We still don't know much about it apart from it making things go poof.

And this episode has been stuck with only 1 scene of iris which was her disappearing. The story for both the Deathstorm arc and this time sickness arc needs to go faster it is very very slow paced. Sure this episode picked things up, but its not enough.

Last episode, instead of really adding more depth to the black flame persona, it chose to go withwith the Snow family drama. The problem with the writers are that they do not know the priorities to give to the storylines of the episode. Even a rookie writer can recognize this. So that has to improve.

Now with Deathstorm, I hope they can show us his origins properly and can explain his goals with proper reasons. Now that he is tangible, it's high time we get some proper fighting, like with flash and maybe frost.

This may upset some fans but this story at this moment isn't a whole lot better than the forces story line AS OF YET. The pivotal point lies in the next 2 episode. The writers need to get their storyline priorities straight. And when they do, they need to pace it well.

Good and Emotional Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Deathstorm looks really cool, that's all I gotta say. And I am excited to see where this storyline with the new villain Deathstorm will go from here. It is gonna be really cool to watch him and the flash fight near the end of this season, and I don't know if the show was renewed for a 9th season or not.

This season is great and way better than the last one, the writers are doing their best.

I'm so happy that I'm finally excited again for this series!

I like how it feels like the first two seasons, which were the best seasons in my opinion, I hope they keep it up.🎉😁

The best episode this season after Armageddon!
b_yocum15 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode definitely continues to prove the Flash can be a good show if they go back to its roots and have a cool villain. To go into the episode, overall, I really enjoyed the flashbacks and of course, seeing Robbie Amell return to the show! To end it off, that was probably one of the best villain reveals we have had since season 3. Super hyped for the next episode!!

I enjoyed it, but there's some issues.

Warning: Spoilers
The only thing I wish for this show is the CGI to improve.

Pros:
  • Paced well.

  • Chester & Allegra banter got better.

  • Interesting stories all together.

Acting: Some parts of this episode didn't feel realistic in regards to how characters who should at least "feel" real, whenever something bad happens. Like when Iris vanished. Where's the panting or panic or screaming in agony, the extreme side to emotions when something drastic happens? Or when people at the campfire saw the skull. They just stood there, until the flash came and told them to run. Where's the realism there? And one guy just trips lol.

Cons:

  • Not the greatest CGI.

  • Needs improvement on acting.

I still give grant a 9/10 in his acting performance.

WORST EPISODE
paleowilliam15 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is so terrible I'm genuinely considering quitting watching the show. The Iris storyline is not entertaining at all. All the characters just piss me off now. Even Barry. The black fire is extremely boring. The flash should be fighting villains. Not some stupid fire. And then when the fire is revealed as Ronnie, Barry instantly decides to try to kill him instead of trying to save him? The flash doesn't even feel like the flash anymore. I don't blame Grant. It's the writing.

Good Episode
omtripathi-6810815 April 2022
Barry and Chester may have found a way to stop the Black Flame from hurting anyone else; Caitlin decides to handle a situation on her own, possibly putting more innocent lives in danger.

Warning: Spoilers
Season 8 has been a very good season overall.

This episode was very interesting, because it finally gave us more info about how Ronnie and Caitlin met each other in a very short time. Now DeathStorm is born I'm very excited to see how this continues. The Flash is getting better again!

A good episode
Bruh263_Movies16 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Alright this episode was good imo. I like the dynamic between caitlin and ronnie. The flashbacks for this episode were just okay and didnt really add much. I would like to also point out that caitlin was pretty stupid in this episode but you cant blame, she lost her husband afterall. I like to CGI for blackfire, pretty good cgi we will see if the VFX team can keep this up. This season is getting close to an 8/10 for me so far. We will see if the writers will continue doing good.

8.1/10-close to very good.
