The storyline is developing well and some backstory established. The time jumps are still a bit disjointed and I'm not sure it really adds much to do it this way.

Episode 2

If I have one reservation. The makers of this series wanted to highlight the victims rather than glorify Charles Sobhraj.
By the end of the first episode we knew that the young Dutch couple had died. I thought it would be left there.
In episode two, we see how they were mistreated by Sobhraj and Marie-Andrée Leclerc.
Sobhraj method was to poison their drinks and slowly nurse them better. Then make them ill again. I was wondering if this was really needed.
This was his modus operandi with others as well. Leclerc watches how he poisons and robs a wealthy western couple that Sobhraj disliked.
This was an episode that also sees Marie-Andrée Leclerc being seduced by Sobhraj's charm and evil. All he had to do was convince her to act as a fashion model and show her an insight to a more glamorous life.
The hero and moral centre really is Herman Knippenberg. For a diplomat he is not very diplomatic as he tries to get to the truth.
Knippenberg is still alive. I doubt he will sue the makers of this series for libel regarding how he has been portrayed.

[8.5] Fear will become your food

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 2: A terrifying continuation with very good acting, many unrealistic situations, naivety and nonsense in the victims' heads way bigger than a whale and a piece of work that exploited all that c_r_@p to his advantage.
The acting is very good, the atmosphere and setting superbly arranged. The fear in her eyes speaks worlds.

Bad translation of French, It's horrible

I'm from Québec and I can't even understand what Monique is saying. Should have a least take either a Québec actress or translate her dialogue correctly. Still going to watch the serie for the story but my hears are bleeding with the accent she shouldn't have.
Non French speaking actors speaking French

Well that was super painful to listen to non French speaking actors struggle with French dialogue!!!! Why? And if you know the lead actor is French, why not hire other French actors to speak French with him? Or if the actors you have can't speak French, they they shouldn't try ... it was awful and distracting. Otherwise I love the show.
