At no point was this movie good or even ok. Obviously only reviewed by people who worked on or are friends with people in the movie.

Seriously ?
mathiassorrow24 July 2020
At the time of reviewing this garbage had over 6 stars ? Apparently, according to this movie, the height of post apocalyptic fashion consists of tearing one arm off of whatever shirt/jacket you happen to be wearing. I managed to watch maybe 20 minutes of this nano-budget excuse for a movie before the nausea got too much. Dire acting, choreography, and script. I can't comment on the plot as I didn't notice one in the brief time I endured the movie. In short, if you like post-apocalypse movies, don't waste your time on this.

Good Job, good team
grimebattard10 October 2019
I liked this work for all those winks to various films or directors. The actors made the effort to learn their text in English and for a first (or second) film I think we must salute these young Belgian actors, I also loved the scene of fighting!

What a joke.
Top_Dawg_Critic26 June 2023
I can't decide weather writer, director, editor and actor Tony Pana should go to film school first, or take acting classes first. Or better yet, take up a new hobby.

This was as bad as it gets. Terrible dialogue, 1970's SFX, horrible sound (have they heard of boom mics?), cheese editing and directing, lame boring and dragged out story, and horrific acting. There is nothing redeeming about this mess. A 5th grade drama class could do better.

Don't get fooled by the reviews, out of the current 61, all 7-10/10's are new account/bogus reviews, only the six 1/10's are real. Pana should've invested in film school and acting classes instead of paying for all these clearly B. S. reviews. It's a generous 1/10 from me.

A virus sweeps the world
directortim201223 April 2020
With a real virus sweeping our world, it was an interesting time to watch a virus infested, post apocalyptic movie. But this film was so entertaining, I forgot about COVID for a while and gave myself over to this story's original premise. Beautifully shot with a stunning setting, you'll often forget you're watching an indie. Great action and two leads I really cared about. I was cheering for the brothers the whole way.

utter nonsense
Call-Me-Mr-Smith13 December 2019
The failures of this self-indulging movie are so numerous that it would be difficult to say if there is a single thing that works at all. Perhaps camera work at times and that's it. It is not campy enough to make it an anti-movie or a potential cult classic, it's not student-naive so one could show more leniency. And above all, the pathetic upvoting makes it all so more irritating. Skip it...or, better yet, run away from it, run as fast and as far as you can.

Cool new action/sci-fi film!
JGReviews23 October 2019
I just checked out this New Release on Amazon Prime and I have to say I was really glad I decided to watch AB Negative. I like indie movies, but rarely are they legitimately cool like this. The movie is shot in Belgium and it's gorgeous -- made me want to go there. I feel like I'm always seeing LA or New York in movies so it was just really refreshing to see somewhere new on screen. The premise of the film is also great and a perfect setup for a movie: most of the world has died from a virus except for those with the rarest blood type (AB negative, of course). But if someone can drink AB negative blood then they help counter the effects of the virus. This obviously creates a really interesting and savage future world where everyone is out for those with AB negative blood and will do anything they can to get it. The movie is a bit more deliberately paced at the beginning, but the film really takes off as it progresses. There's a really cool fight sequence that's in and out of falling water under a bridge that I really liked.

If you're into indie sci-fi action films then you should definitely check out AB Negative.

Great film that seems all too real
williamgway28 April 2020
Wow. What a movie for our current pandemic times. A well shot film with plenty of action. It is an entertaining ride in a post-apocalyptic thriller where only those of a certain blood type survive. Needless to say that there is a rush to get the blood - at any means possible. Won't spoil any more but it is worth a watch.

The High Reviews Are Bogus
rachelceporter13 February 2021
There are many movies of this genre, some good, some not so great. This one is definitely not the greatest going, I feel like it's an am dram group that decided to write and film a movie. Only a wee bit better than some stuff on YouTube, but that genuinely what I would compare it with. The high ranking reviews are definitely from people that know the cast or crew.

Whoa...which High School acting class made this ???
hodsdonjorge8 December 2019
If you like Jedi level cheesefests with nice scenery and Pepe Leipew accented English...this is for you. Otherwise take a nap, paint the kitchen or make a un-needed dentist appointment...way more fun.

Least enjoyable movie I've ever seen
tamicasears15 January 2020
While I do appreciate fam coming out and giving all of the positive reviews for the movie that their people were in, let's be honest here. This movie was pure garbage. It felt like something an eight-year-old came up with and filmed with their iPhone in their backyard. No, an eight-year-old could do better than this.

Cool Indie Thriller
artistgp14 October 2019
A really interesting premise that I haven't seen before. It really sets the stage for the "cutthroat" nature of people as they try and survive. If you're into post apocalyptic stories then this one is definitely for you. There's also some really nice visuals and a lovely backdrop for the film.

A Post-Apocalyptic Thrill Ride
TheAll-SeeingI10 October 2019
During the Cold War, seemingly imminent nuclear war gave rise to now-classic films like "The Terminator" and "Mad Max," reflecting our fears of an encroaching dystopian world. Yet oddly, the gripping terror permeating our current geopolitical climate hasn't elicited that same abundance (or quality) of films. That's surely why the science fiction-action thriller "AB Negative" feels stunningly of our times in its contemporary presentation of a freshly reimagined apocalyptic landscape.

Shot in the idyllic landscapes of Belgium, Anthony Reese and Tony Pana play two brothers wandering a pristine, forested Earth in which a blood infection has gutted the planet's populous; only those with an AB Negative blood type -- or those that drink the AB Negative blood of others -- can survive. It's a terrific premise, and Reese and Pana flex a rare chemistry as the protective, tough love-driven older brother and the idealistic sibling he lives to protect from a population of gangs and human strays, all in desperate need of AB Negative to see another day. The film is visually unique -- earthly thickets are counterpointed against filthy, nocturnal catacombs littered with zombified blood donors and now-useless gold bars and art pieces; forms of antiquated human plunder rendered irrelevant in a world in which only AB Negative blood is a recognized currency. This is also an action-packed ride, with an aggressive and unrelenting assault of hand-to-hand, close quarters fight scenes.

At its core, "AB Negative" somehow succeeds in balancing magical images of our beautiful planet with the gritty rawness of a recruitment video made by an underground resistance. It's a truly aspirational movie in that way, shrewdly manipulating some of the same visually jarring levers pulled by director Danny Boyle in "28 Days Later" (and the best of the fast-moving zombie flicks that film helped to spawn). Throughout its 86 minutes, "AB Negative" hints ominously at a world which feels both otherworldly and yet potentially just around the corner, and it does it in a way that's highly entertaining and engrossing.

Indie semi-zombie mayhem for ya
kennyhughes30 May 2020
It's indie, with a lot of fights, and that horror kinda vibe, but its more of a thriller with some morality tale woven in. You won't know any actors in this. AB Negative is the rare blood that can keep you alive from some crazy virus...kinda creepy especially when I am thinking hey...maybe I drink some ab positive blood to keep the covid away from me. They all have these cute accents too.

This indie still has a big budget feel
caseykilloran2 December 2019
I love apocalypse themed movies. And this one delivers. The locations are great the fighting is impressive. This indie still has a big budget feel and that is great to see. I liked the apocalypse story with the use of a rare blood type. Smart. Recommend it.

"9" stars for me
craigahrens16 October 2019
What a terrific film and so timely given our planet's current dynamics! I'm not much into sci-fi but... this film had me from the beginning and didn't let go! I thought the acting and the story were spot on. I really enjoyed Anthony Reese and Tony Pana. They played two brothers and had great chemistry! I thought the director did a masterful job keeping the film at a good pace. Clearly a thumbs up from me!!

Action flick with strong BLOOD ties
jimlewisjr30 May 2020
While the titles AB Negative and Bloodsport are both reference blood it is the action that ties these two movies together. Watching Anthony Reese is a lot like watch younger Jean-Claude Van Damme. Amazing fight moves and one action scene after another makes this film AB POSITIVE.

Very interesting concept! When a blood disease decimates the population, the rarest blood type becomes the most important currency. Really made me think about how useles all our material possession are when health is at stake. Well acted and beautifully shot. Highly recommend!

Great movie
contactpharmaguillaume16 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I Liked the film from start to end, espacially the focus on the brother relationship during the epidemic. I was surprised by the quality of the movie towards the small allocated budget. All the characters are credible and I had no problem to get caught by the storyline. In fact, i didn't noticed any big flaw and that's a very good thing. For a first movie, I can say that the team has done a excellent work, even the music sounds pro! I'm just frustrated at the end because I would have appreciated to see the so-called earth. Good job to all the team! Looking forwards to see the next film!

Scary that this could really happen!
lbruhnca15 November 2019
The best action, thriller or horror films are usually about things that we all fear. AB Negative reminds me of an episode of The Blacklist where I learned about the Golden Blood Rh-null (less than 50 people have this rare blood type and its difficult to live with). With the plague, H5N1 virus, and so many other strange weird virus's poping up in our world, this kind of sceanario is not so far fetch, which makes this apocolyptic story even more intriguing and scary.

Very interesting content.
PerryVangoethem22 June 2020
This film is very interesting:

  • Interesting storyline
  • Interesting fights scene
  • Interesting editing
  • Interesting VFX
  • Interesting locations.

This indie film made with only 7.000 euros is great, they have some good qualities that are very promising for the futur!

It also have flaws, with only 7.000 euros, you have flaws, but it doesn't take away all the good stuff we can find in here.

Hope to see more!

Amazing Action
kjs114426 November 2019
Wow! I really enjoyed this movie! AB Negative is a smart, stylish action movie set in a dark future. The film takes you on a thrilling ride. The fight sequences were phenomenal. I also liked the use of slow motion. The locations were fantastic as well. The cinematography and color correction were stellar, and I especially like the look of the green vegetation in the forest. The directing was excellent and the soundtrack was very effective. Some moments are so cinematic, it may give you chills. This movie is very impressive and I highly recommend it!
