Science Fiction Films from the 1970's - A list of 20 favorites

Oddly enough, IMDb does not classify Star Wars as a science fiction film, which surprised me. I can see their point, somewhat, they classify it as Action, Fantasy, Adventure. But to me, spaceships, laser swords, and talking robots = science fiction. It's not on this list for that reason, and also because nearly everyone is familiar with it. Anyway...as a result of that movie's mega-success, there was an increase in the amount of science fiction films made in the last few years of the 1970's. There were some great 1970's sci-fi films made before 1978, just not a great abundance of them. But even with the low tech special effects of the day, many of these films are considered classics. Here's 20 of my favorites from the 1970's, I think your likely to enjoy.
