Espionage
Hitchcoc1 April 2021
When a reporter familiar to the CSI's is thought to have died in a fiery car crash, the gang steps in. But there is more to the story when a big surprise occurs. Soon the FBI is at the doorstep and the people closest to the story are either arrested or stopped in their tracks. This is a little confusing in parts because sometimes we don't know what side figures are on and who can be trusted.

The Love Affair Resolved
claudio_carvalho16 December 2023
The reporter John Merchiston meets a woman that delivers him a flash drive in the name of Suvari. However, someone is spying them with a sophisticated apparatus. He goes to the parking garage and soon his car leaves the building. He is chased by the police, speed up, loses control, hits a pole and explodes. The CSIs cannot identify the burned body. Finn tells Russell that she had had an affair with John, and he was investigating government spying. John's attorney, Jill McDermott, requests his body for the funeral. When Russell goes to the parking garage, he is surprised by John that explains that the dead body is his assistant Brian Freeman. Soon Russell takes John to Finn's apartment, and they learn that the spying program Jericho is being used by the powerful General Lansdale. He also delivers the flash drive to Russell to check the encrypted content. But out of the blue, the FBI agents arrest the trio, and they learn that someone powerful is manipulating the situation.

"Boston Brakes" is a paranoic episode of "CSI". It is almost unbelievable that a general would use the government apparatuses and information to cover-up a love affair. The same way he is powerful, he certainly has powerful enemies that would use his cunning to destroy him. The plot about his conspiracy is totally unreasonable. My vote is seven.

Conspiracy! Domestic surveillence! Paranoia! oooooh...
koohii21 April 2021
This episode is... unfortunate. It tries to jump onto the illegal domestic surveillance scene about 5 years late. And of course the air force general is a cardboard cutout baddie with heavy fascist leanings. Honestly, he felt more like a comic book charactature. With writing this bad, it's small wonder this show was on it's way out. I just hope we don't end up revisiting this story line later.

Cluster of an episode

Feels like an SVU episode where if course some Rouge is against the government. It was pretty rough trying to watch and finish this episode because of how stupid and boring it was.

FAILED Script from another show or pilot.

Words that Don fit with characters we know.

Bad flow, none of the classic CSI beats.

Tropes and cliches

Boring boring boring.

Was it vacation week for writers and directors.

Feels like writer had a script from another procedural. FBI level etc. And just crammed dialog into our characters we what the show for.

Not sure how this made the cut.

Why do I need to write 200 more characters to get the point across that this is a badly adapted script that should have never made it past first read.

I would skip this episode for your own sanity.

You have been warned about this episode, do not watch.
