The reporter John Merchiston meets a woman that delivers him a flash drive in the name of Suvari. However, someone is spying them with a sophisticated apparatus. He goes to the parking garage and soon his car leaves the building. He is chased by the police, speed up, loses control, hits a pole and explodes. The CSIs cannot identify the burned body. Finn tells Russell that she had had an affair with John, and he was investigating government spying. John's attorney, Jill McDermott, requests his body for the funeral. When Russell goes to the parking garage, he is surprised by John that explains that the dead body is his assistant Brian Freeman. Soon Russell takes John to Finn's apartment, and they learn that the spying program Jericho is being used by the powerful General Lansdale. He also delivers the flash drive to Russell to check the encrypted content. But out of the blue, the FBI agents arrest the trio, and they learn that someone powerful is manipulating the situation.
"Boston Brakes" is a paranoic episode of "CSI". It is almost unbelievable that a general would use the government apparatuses and information to cover-up a love affair. The same way he is powerful, he certainly has powerful enemies that would use his cunning to destroy him. The plot about his conspiracy is totally unreasonable. My vote is seven.
