Reminder: The Goldbergs Are Jewish

From an artistic standpoint, the writing is dreadful. From an historical standpoint, the plot is insulting and idiotic.

So, the underlying problem is that Jewish people have no idea what it's like to suffer as a people? Ironically, Adam's movie is an analogy for slavery and Jim Crow laws... not the wholesale genocide of an entire race of people... which isn't worth noting. Gotcha.

Horrible Thanksgiving episode and may be the beginning of the death rattle for a show that has had a great run.

I don't know how they did it, but this episode feels nothing like the 80s or the rest of the episodes. I'm guessing this is the last season sue to Giambroni gerting too old so they are ready to set the ship on fire.

Admittedly, not one of the funnier episodes, but it was poignant. It seems to me many people were butthurt about this episode. I thought it was well done and the irony is that people who reviewed this and dismissed this episode as politically incorrect or whatever, are probably the racist people inferred in this episode. Very sad. And about the people making comments about THE GOLDBERGS ignoring that they were Jewish; They were mistaken. The Grandfather did make mention of that sort of thing. Remember this is America 1980 something, not Germany in the 30's/40's. I am disappointed in the reviews that seemed to just want to gloss over the bigotry in our nation. I think an episode like this actually will help people who realize that maybe they should think about how their actions and words could hurt others. Is it wrong to be concerned about others feelings? I don't think so.

I hope there's an apology coming for this episode

The Goldbergs used to be funny. And on occasions when it wasn't funny it was often poignant. This episode is neither and I can't think of any redeeming features.

People are focusing too much on the politics of the episode rather than whether it was funny or not. It wasn't the funniest episode but it is funnier than most of the episodes from S7. And the movie is one of the funniest things from the season so far.

I can handle an episode about racism, but this feels like those films in high school where teach you not to drink and drive. This can not be the original writers. The characters feel off and every scene seems to be some type of indoctrination. I guess I'm done with this show now SMH. Time to abandon videos and go back to Ham radio, wood working and electronics.

A Terrible Lecture

I'm a huge fan of The Goldbergs but this seems to be the first nail in the coffin.

This show is supposed to be a comedy but I found myself being lectured to. I'm really disappointed that this show felt that it needed to bring politically relevant discussions of today into an 80s perspective.

It wasn't even worthy lecturing, just classic obviousness and "You're a bad person, you oppress black people, you don't do anything to help black people, we need more black people in books because all black people think the same." Thankfully Mr. Glascott came through.

Holy Cow, this was poorly written episode and the masses agree. I don't understand so many people are getting on the woke bandwagon. Clearly many people agree and the saying is true. Get woke go broke. They usually do a good address the holiday episodes and etc but this was to force just to please people, but again didnt work.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about racism this and racism that.....I watch this show to be entertained, not to be preached to. If this is the direction this show is going, then it deserves to go off the air. I hope those that make the show read the reviews so they don't make another self-righteous episode like this again. Enough already!

Finally a tv show willing to shine a light on racism but to think of all the lives that could have been saved if Adam had heard of spike lee one year earlier,still I'm sure the future will now be brighter.

Clearly worst episode of this show. ABC had to force this in here as doesn't fit with the series whatsoever. Tried not to be offensive but clearly a swing and miss. Episode is worth a skip.
