Radio North wants to host a sports quiz with the local clubs. Jack tells Selwyn that they are coming to feature him in the "This is Your Life" programme. When the gang feels the joke has gone to far, they show him the letter from Radio North. Now he believes that both shows are coming on the same night.

Selwyn is hosting a bingo game and promises the Sid Arkwright Band as entertainment. When they don't show up, he gets called into the office to explain why no entertainer ever shows up for his events. He explains that they can't find the club because there is no name on the building, and he promptly volunteers to paint the sign.

Selwyn sent the old folks on a day trip to Scarborough, only problem was, he was supposed to drive the bus, and they ended up in Bridlington. The club have to raise funds to pay for the fines and transport back, and decide to hold a raffle. The only prize Selwyn could come up with is a salt and pepper shaker set from his mothers kitchen.

The gang are loading the beer into the club, when Selwyn throws a case into a large stack and it tumbles down on him. He won't take the blame as usual, so he tells the committee that it is Ray's fault because he is over worked. They decide to hire a barmaid and his mother and Vera both apply for the job.

Clive pulls yet another prank on Selwyn. He calls him in a disguised voice and tells him he is needed for a special op by the government. Go to a construction shack down the road and wait for a special parcel and bring it back to the pub. Selwyn waits all night and in the morning it is there. He takes it back and opens it. Not exactly a military secret.

Ray and Vera are discussing holidays and looking at brochures. When Selwyn comes in, they keep quiet about it. He thinks she is planning a holiday with Ray. He thinks Vera is cheating on Maurice and she plans on running off to Switzerland with him. Should he tell Maurice or not?

Maurice and Vera are getting married. Selwyn volunteers to arrange everything. Just a few problems, like the camera has no film, the car is out of gas, the reception is in the pub, and the cake is a cardboard display from the bakery. In spite of him, the wedding goes ahead and the couple go off in the car pushed by the guests.
