Justice League (2017)

Decent and fun but needed more

I know many fans myself included were the biggest fans of Batman vs Superman since it was considered rather dark and lengthy, I know Warner Bros attempted to make the movie under two hours as a way of greater aa faster paced film which seems to work but it feels like it lacked some character developments particularly cyborg, flash, and aqua man who were great additions to he film. Steppenwolf didn't make convincing film and it was hard to tell if ciran hinds wasn't playing e part. Gal Gadot is one of the films saving graces since she embodies Diana prince aka Wonder Woman well. Ben Affleck looks a surprise though he would rather be elsewhere and Henry Cavill is underused in the film.

Coco (I) (2017)

A great family film,

I will say while I had my doubts about the film, but I will say that coco turned out to b way better than I expected. It was interesting to see a movie deal with the topic of day of the dead which was awesome and dealing with Mexican culture. Th story deals with Miguel who aspires to be a musician even though music has been banned in his family because of his great great grandmother being heart broken over it and ended up in the shoe making business as a result of it. Miguel' ending up getting trapped in ththe land of the dead and did a out that he must return to the living or be stuck as undead for all eternity.

Boo 2! A Madea Halloween (2017)

More or the same

While the first. Madea boo offered a decent amount of laughs but I found the sequel to be somewhat lacking, while the movie features the return of fan favorites Madea, Joe, bam and Hattie Mae but it Felton like the similar tone of th first despite being the tenth Madea film. Brian's ex wife Deborah makes a return appearance since diary of a mad black woman, but played by a different actress.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

I can't believe it ha been two years since the first film which became a surprise hit. Since the events, Gary eggsy uwin has made his own name as a kingsman after an incident destroys the headquarters of the kingsman including most of its agents except Gary and Merlin, they end up teaming with the statesman who happen to be the American counterparts of the kingsman.

The Shack (I) (2017)

A touching faith story

While there have been many stories of faith, but I will say that I really liked this one. I thought what made it very interesting is how ones faith is tested through a personal tragedy and how to rediscover one shot faith again. The story tells with Mack Phillips who goes on a camping trip with his kids, josh, Kate, and missy. When an accident involving a canoe boat distracts Mack to save josh, and Kate, his youngest missy gets kidnapped. Mack goes through a depression blaming himself for his daughters death and goes through a spiritual reawakening of sorts wondering if one can really talk to god and tell them what's on ones mind.

Atomic Blonde (2017)

A female 007

I know that Charlize Theron character Lorraine broughon will be remind people of a female 007 in which both character kick ass and manage to hold their own ina fight while having a love interest.mi would say while the film lacks a bit in plot and substance makes up in action and Charlize Theron giving a great performance since Lorraine motives are a mystery. Is she a hero or a villain of sorts. That's for the audience to decide.

Girls Trip (2017)

A powerful tale of friendship

It seems like ever since the success of girls trip back in 2011, it seems like lots of other movies have tried to replicate the success of that movie and failed. However what makes girls trip rather powerful is its message of friendship and empowerment of women, I would say that the film had lots of laugh particularly Tiffany haddish whose Dina character is a lot like Melissa McCarthy character Megan but the film also has a lot of heart.

War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)

The struggle of apes vs humans

I will say that being the third time around, the story focuses on Cesar's fight against the humans who wish to exterminate the apes least by a vicious colonel played wonderfully by woody harrelson. I would say that compared to previous apes movies, it is very dark with little humor. I will say that certain parts of the movie drag particularly the middle part but it is still watchable. The humans end up losing their ability to speak as a result of the simian flu virus.

Dunkirk (2017)

a movie that could have been better

When I first saw the trailer for the Dunkirk movie, I will admit that I had rather high expectations for the movie since it did look rather stunning and amazing. Instead I felt that I was disappointed. While there were parts of the movie that were good particularly Harry Styles in his film debut and does his best with the role despite the limited dialogue. Kenneth Branaugh was also good as well as Mark Rylance. However I felt that diminished the film was the lack of character development and felt more like survivors waiting for a rescue and lacked a sense of likability or care for them. Despite that the film did have a wonderful musical score but felt a somewhat longer running time might have benefited the film. Maybe it might get an Oscar in 2018, but only time will tell.

Despicable Me 3 (2017)

The next adventure of gru

I will say that while the third chapter of the despicable me franchise is still decent that provides lots of laughs but it feels as though it lost a bit of its charm, the minions while still hilarious, are not often featured enough despite their hilarious moments in an Americas got talent type spoof which is hilarious. Also the absence of dr nefarious is felt. The premise of guru having a long lost twin brother named dru, isn't very original but an interesting one to see how the twin brothers are different.

Baby Driver (2017)

A younger version of driver

I would say that this film reminds me very similar to the 2011 Ryan gosling movie driver since both characters are somewhat quiet, are car drivers, have a love interest, and trying to get out of a bad situation. However what makes Ansel elgort character miles different is that he suffers from tintinus as a result of a car accident as a child and uses music a a way of driving out the ringing in his ears. I would say that the music is what makes the movie rather special just like the driver movie and a somewhat neo noir feel to the movie.

Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)

Five films in ten years

I can't believe it has been ten years since the first transformers film back in 2007. In the latest chapter, the humane and auto bots are at war. Optimus prime has been searching for the creators of the autobots but ends up getting corrupted by quintessa who dubs him nemesis prime and attempts to turn him against the human Allies.

I will say that I have been a big fan of the Brendan Fraser mummy trilogy and i will say it was good concept to have a mummy film in modern times.sofia boutella who plays the female mummy amanent an Egyptian princess who makes a pact with set the God of death to get the Throne that was suppose to be hears, in modern times, nick Morton ends up uncovering her tomb and finds out that he may be possessed by the set God.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (2017)

A whole new cast

I will say when seeing this film I had low expectations, because the trailer looks awful and the adjustment of a new cast after getting used to the original cast for the previous three film. While personally I would preferred the continuation with the original cast with Greg being older and in high school but it is what it is. I will say while it did have some good laughs but I agree the recasting of Roderick was a hard one to watch, since I felt like this version of the character seemed dumbed down.however the casting of Alicia silverstone and tom Everett Scott were one of the better aspects.

Baywatch (2017)

Over the top and silly but enjoyable

I will say that I had my doubts about the film, considering the bay watch series starred David hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson who have cameo appearances in the film considering the show was based off sex appeal. I will say that Dwayne Johnson who takes over the Mitch Buchanan role does a decent job in the role and finding a right balance between silly and serious. Zac efron take on Matt Brody seems to be more like the arrogant if somewhat dumb jock of sorts but with a good heart.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)

A return to form

Nearly 15 years since the first pirates movie back in 2003, jack sparrow is back with a. New adventure. After the mixed reception that was on stranger tides, Jack is looking for the trident of Poseidon which allows the one who wields it the control of the seas.it could prove to be rather helpful towards Jack especially when his old enemy captain Salazar who he trapped in the Devil's Triangle wants revenge against his old foe. I will say it was great to see will turner and Elizabeth swan again after their absence in the fourth film. It helps the plot is more straight forward and enjoyable.

Everything, Everything (2017)

Predictable but enjoyable

I will say when it comes to the genre of young adult love stories, they tend to be rather predictable with the boy and girl meeting and falling in love. The tradition continues but offers a somewhat different take in which the girl maddie is diagnosed with a immune disease that prevents her from going outside and lives Ina sterilized environment, the boy Ollie is the emo kid dressed in black who deals with an abusive father, the two meet and instantly fall in love.

Snatched (2017)

The return of Goldie hawk to the big screen

After a 15 year hiatus from the big screen, Goldie hawn makes her acting comeback since her last film, the banger sisters. She plays Linda,mother of Amy schumer character Emily who experiences a breakup and trying to find someone who will go to Ecuador with her since the tickets are non refundable, let's just say mother and daughter get caught in hilarious hijinks. I will say that the movie is hilarious and definitely something worthy of taking the movies.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

The guardians are back

Six months after the events of the first film, Peter, gamora, rocket, and groot are back with a new adventure. Peter also tries to figure out who his biological father might be and seems to have finally find the answer of sorts when he encounters a man named ego who claims to be peters father. However gamora senses something sinister and tries to warn Peter that there is something wrong. I will say that drax seemed more humorous than he did in the first film almost like the comedic relief of the group. Gamora sister nebula is also back and trying to get payback on her sister. Baby groot is adorable.

The Fate of the Furious (2017)

The 8th chapter of dom and crew

I know many fans were wondering what direction the series would take next considering how furious 7 felt like a swan song to the franchise considering that Paul Walker passed away when that that movie was filming and his character was retired. However things have changed when Dom meets a woman named cipher played wonderfully by Charlize Theron who happens to be the first major female villain in the series to betray his crew when he discovers a son he didn't know about. I will say one of the best parts of the film is the car chase sequence in New York. Helen mirren has a cameo appearance as the mother of deckard and Owen Shaw which was nice to see.

The Boss Baby (2017)

A great movie

I will admit that despite my initial doubts about the film, I will say that I was surprised how enjoyable the film was and having good values of family and brotherhood. The story deals with seven year old Tim who enjoys a happy life with his parents Janice and Ted. Tim's life changes when gets a baby brother who turns out can actually talk and works for a company named baby Corp which has babies with adult minds. Boss baby and Tim at first don't really like each other but come together when they realize how much they start to care for one another and attempting to foil a plot from puppy comthat wants to replace the love of babies with pets.

In a remake of the 1979 film, Michael Caine, Morgan freeman, and Alan Arlin playing three friends Joe, Williem and Albert, the three of the pm are retired workers in a steel mill and find out that their pension that they were suppose to be get is taken from them as a result of merger. The three friends each deal with their own problems, Joe having to deal with that possibility of losing his home due to foreclosure, Willie needing a kidney transplant and Albert being alone, however the trio decide to rob a bank as a way of taking back the pension that was stolen from them,

Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017)

The return of the smurfs

Four years after the second smurfs movie which didn't do well domestically but gets a reboot in this version, I will admit that I miss hearing the smurfs gags like the happy song and mentioning the word smurf but it should be enjoyable for fans of the cartoons. The film also has a new cast in which Demi lovsto takes over the smurfette role. Mandy pantankin takes over from the late Johnathan winters as papa smurf. Jack mcbayer takes over the clumsy role from the late Anton yelchin who was great in the role.

Power Rangers (2017)

A darker tale on the power rangers

I will say when watching the mighty morphin power rangers series as a kid, it was campy and cheesy as hell but also lots of fun, in that version as well as this version, deals with the original five Rangers, Jason, Trini, Zachary, billy, and Kimberly, however they are different version of the TV counterparts since trini is a hispanic lesiban, Zach is Asian, and Billy is black while suffering from aspergers. Rita repulse also returns but was once a rogue green power rangers who wants the zeo crystals as a way of gaining more power. She is also more evil and insane than she was in the TV series. The main characters are more flawed than the TV series.

Beauty and the Beast (I) (2017)

A classic retelling of a popular classic

I remember watching the animated 1991 film and hearing Angela Lansbury who played Mrs. Potts in the film sang the wonderful song beauty and the beast which is this time around sung by Audra McDonnell. I will say Emma Watson was great as belle since she looks the part and has a great singing voice. Josh gad was hilarious as Lefou the sidekick of the vain gaston who is gay in this version which brought up lots of controversy. I will say while it stays faithful to the animated film, but I will say that it was rather dark.
