It felt like reading an interesting & short book in one hour, I really loved it.
15 April 2022
It was the first movie I saw that felt exactly like reading a book, which to me is a great thing if the book is interesting and well narrated. The flow of the movie is perfect, it's funny, the cinematography is top notch and it was very well acted. I liked the narrator, C. S. Lewis himsefl, played by Max McClean, being inside the story and being filmed as a travelling shot. The text is engaging and delivered with expression, if you care to follow the change of mind of a man's position before the belief in God, pay attention to what's being said and you will pick up well constructed arguments against materialism that I see myself using to explain my beliefs to others, because this movie achieves that kind of clarity. It's like watching moments of epiphany, without the fireworks of other lives and stories of people that converted to something spiritual. Christianity is not oversold and it's actually not the main theme of the movie. This is about C. S. Lewis spiritual journey and it fits many beliefs and religions, it's just a personal path, but one that can be universal if people want to read it like that. Some critics here say it's too slow, too short or boring but I think if it was longer than one hour it would ruin its effect. Didn't feel neither boring and certainly not slow, the story is always told with movement and the entire movie flows very smoothly, never getting stuck or dragging. I already think that I will share this movie with some friends, hope more people do that too.

Professor T (2021– )

An excellent crime series with a surrealistic comedy side.
7 June 2021
I didn't see the Belgium original series and I'm glad for that, now I can enjoy the British take on it, without spoilers. It's a perfect cast, I love their acting and how they interpret the characters. The filming is superb and has a fantastic scene composition. Also has a good soundtrack, attention to set details and overall design. It gets better with each new episode, don't be discouraged by the simple crime plot of the first episode, keep watching and you will be rewarded. I can't wait for season 2. For me it's a solid 9, I think talent like this, both on filming and acting, must be recognized.

The Suspect (2013)

Excellent action flick, in the line of the Jason Bourne movies.
12 May 2021
I usually don't watch much Korean cinema, but I love action movies and so, when I read the reviews on this one, I decided to give it a try. And I wasn't disappointed in any way. Solid action, with fight scenes that are not martial arts based, but instead are more like the Bourne franchise, brutal and practical. Very tense moments of manhunt, and two excellent car chases, rivaling with the best that Hollywood puts up. Acting is solid and characters are well developed, the background stories consistent, without breaking the action and never slowing down the movie. The plot also makes perfect sense and you don't need to suspend your brain or logic, nor is it necessary to waste a lot of dialog to explain things. I can say that I am pleasantly surprised by this movie and I hope that Korean cinema can gives us more films like this. A solid 8.

I've seen The Matrix, I'm gonna do another movie
8 December 2019
It's made in 2002 but right from the start it seems more like 1992. But the whole movie is constructed like if the director and the producers just came from watching "The Matrix" and so now they want to do the same thing. It's a mediocre imitation, you'll see right away where they just went for copying "The Matrix" instead of being original. It's in the action scenes, right down to the moves and weapons, it's atrocious and will have you screaming pretty soon. It does have a consistent script and it could have been a decent action movie if it wasn't for the mediocre imitation of another movie, a blatant rip-off of all the ways and scenes from someone else's work. This said watch it if you don't mind the close copying and if you're able to turn your brain off. Many times that's exactly what we want, so I give it a solid 4 out of 10. No, not a 5 and that's just because the scene-by-scene copy of "The Matrix" really annoys me a lot. It's so in your face that you just can't ignore it. There's a reason why it's so difficult to find a copy of this movie and it isn't because it's rare, it's because it's crap.

Very entertaining with solid acting and non-stop action.
29 September 2019
If you just want to be entertained and away from worries and other crap that your brain puts in your way for 2 hours, then this movie is definitely for you. If you want a very deep script, profound story and stuff like that, look elsewhere. I spent a good 2 hours, loved the solid acting, the fact that nobody takes it very seriously and the non-obstrusive humor and refined funny that are present in a good equilibrium all through the movie. Also there's very good action, fights, vehicles, tech and a sensible, conducting plot. As other reviewer said, if you liked Deadpool 2, you'll love this one. A solid 7 out of 10.

Killjoys (2015–2019)

Infantile, shallow, futile
27 August 2018
I'm just gonna say this about Killjoys: bring back "Dark Matter" please. Killjoys has the correct name: it kills all the joy of Sci-Fi. It's nice for numb teenagers maybe and then again no... Even teenagers need some sort of solid stories. Killjoys is boring because it doesn't care about the plot or the density of the episodes. It's a piece of crap and I'm not gonna waste my time with it.

I don't understand the bad ratings, viewers ratings are dead on IMDB.
22 August 2018
Well I decided to watch this, against all the bad ratings and was surprised to find a decent action movie, never boring, and way much better than some titles that I see here getting 10's, 9's and 8's, which by the way any person these days gives to a movie. If you analyze the quantity of B movies or 3rd rated pieces of crap that get 10, 9 or 8 as a rate in IMDB you'll be horrified. So IMDB ratings are now completely pointless. And that's why I'll stop using the site, log off and never come back again. If IMDB can't fix this problem, well they deserve to be shun away by the movie industry and by all the viewers. Maybe I'll come here to read the Critics reviews but not to read the viewers reviews. Because I could be stop from having some fun watching this movie which has a solid plot (no plot holes), good action and it doesn't pretend to be something which it isn't. It's a good action movie, that's it. It will entertain you, trust me. There's a ton of crap getting better reviews here. So IMDB is dead for user reviews. Because viewers are stupid. Goodbye.

Gets boring after an hour. Should be shorter.
18 August 2018
Should be way shorter than 2h30m! That's reserved for really special movies and this one it's very far from being special. I had to stop it after 1 hour because I was getting really bored. I'm giving it a 5 because the movie is not that bad but I feel it deserves a worse rating because of those 2h30... Plus it's full of American clichés and the usual American bullcrap. If you don't see it, don't worry, it's just not worth it. I wouldn't even think about watching it again. No, it's not a good movie and it's not even a good "heist" genre movie. If this is a "heist" movie it's the most boring I ever saw.

I hope they don't make more Thor movies
25 January 2018
Well this was an huge disappointment. I wasn't expecting infantile jokes, the nuisance of having to suffer with that stupid jerk Jeff Goldblum character, plus the one paper thick argument, full of imbecility in all the wrong places. I'm giving it a 2 because of the CGI, the Dr. Strange sequence and... nothing else really. This is probably the most overrated movie of the year. I can tell you right away that the DC Comics movie, "League of Justice" is way much better than this Marvel utter crap. I just hope that Marvel gets back on its track and PLEASE NO MORE THOR MOVIES!!! I'm pretty sure if we all wanted a patched eye Thor behaving like Captain Jack Sparrow, being a childish character the whole movie, we would have Marvel cast Johnny Depp for the part instead of totally ruining Chris Hemsworth previous Thor movies. Now it's "forget about it!" because Marvel can't get back at making more Thor movies with this Chris Hemsworth guy again... Get another actor for the part because this one is ruined forever. You kind of almost ruined Hulk too but I'll leave that for the future. Maybe Hulk is still salvageable... Well Marvel I think you deserve the prize for the most childish, idiotic and worst movie of the year. Now if you excuse I'm gonna watch Lego Ninjago. I'm totally sure it will be so much better.

The Ranch (2016–2020)
10/10
It's the perfect blend of true people's comedy and drama
17 December 2017
I never write reviews of anything but if that's what it takes so Netflix keeps "The Ranch" going I'm doing it. This is not your regular comedy show nor your regular drama show. Somehow it manages to be both because it has a rare alchemy between jokes and personal, truthful, feelings. It's a Family, lovers & friends thing. It just works really well. Since somebody is running "The Big Bang Theory" for so long without even being questioned about it, I think "The Ranch" deserves a far superior kind of respect than that shallow comedy about nerds. It's not about fake stuff, it's about a real small town Family, friends and strangers (always welcomed to stir up things). It's about real Americans. I love it, although I'm an European citizen, it just shows the best about American persons and why the rest of the world should care about Americans. More than that, it shows our common ground on being Human, jokes, drama and all. I hope "The Ranch" goes on. I did something I never do: I gave it a perfect 10. I only did that for such movies as "2001, An Odyssey in Space" and "Blade Runner", among a few handful of others. So either I'm crazy or this is one of the best TV series I ever saw. It is, trust me. Love can't be questioned so easily and this is a case of Love. Hope you enjoy it too.

People of Earth (2016–2017)
A very special and funny series!
4 November 2016
Man this was an absolute gem discovery! I love it. It's about a very special support group of alien abductees. Compare this with "The Middle" (which I stopped watching this season because it's NOT funny anymore) and you'll get it. This series is genuinely funny and yet it has some profound meanings hidden behind the humor. The cast is awesome, we get to see Wyatt Cenac at his best but the other actors, such as Ana Gasteyer, are really tailored for their characters and very funny. I wish comedy would go this way rather than the boring and totally not funny other specimens. What can I say more? Well, give it a try! The episodes only last 20 minutes and I'm sure many of you will love it.
