The Undeclared War: Episode #1.3 (2022)
OMG I have to read subtitles!!
What on earth is wrong with subtitles FGS?!!
So very realistic in it's depiction of worldwide affairs, as in deceit and lies. A great episode. Great.
Did I mention the word "Great"?
S.W.A.T.: Madrugada (2021)
Family
Another expert episode; beautifully choreographed. And great to have the family back. And this UK viewer means "1great" with a capital "G". As I said in my review for episode 1, this is feature film level.
S.W.A.T.: Vagabundo (2021)
An amazing episode
Now this review is from a Londoner who has never been to the US or Mexico.
But from the stunning, opening location travelogue; this genuinely transfixed me.
Val Dorantes - who I had never heard of before - was incredible and there must be so, so much more to expect from her career. As for Shemar Moore, I could never understand why he wasn't a movie actor. A really unexpected beauty of an episode.
Taken 3 (2014)
Who gives a damn what a "critic" says.
This is a well crafted thriller with loads of suspense. How can a "critic" give it a 20?
Lovecraft Country: Sundown (2020)
Stranger Things for liberals (in a fabulous way)
Fascinating. Intriging. Brilliantly compulsive.
There is so much to be learnt from this premier episode.
As a lover of H. P. Lovecraft's tales of terror, this raised numerous questions about his racial views. Some would state that he reversed his opinions with age. Further investigation will prove or deny this. But this apparition is memorable. Memorably memorable.
Tides of War (2005)
Not as bad as you may want it to be.
Look, the special effects were very much 'SYFY' specials and the acting in the lower echelons left a lot to be desired. But the Machiavellian nature of the plot were quite rousing.
A Christmas Carol: Chapter Two: The Human Heart (2019)
Unbelievable
A sick rep of a stunning novel. Why on Earth would someone - anyone, anywhere - do intentionally?
Marple: Nemesis (2007)
Sadly and simply awful
Considering all the amazing talent on show, I so wanted to enjoy this version of a Joan Hickson classic, but it quickly reveals itself to be a sadly horrendous, vacuous and vulgar experiment. Honestly, what where ITV executives in the UK thinking? Thank goodness for the Dominik Scherrer score and DoP Larry Smith.
