I rated this a 10 ... And my reason
25 April 2024
Born in 1969 I was a child in 1978 do the math.... That year 1978 many many many things happened to this at the time 9 year old which I'm mourning... FIRST you'll never seen talent like this ever again in your lives including Frank Oz ... Second in 1978 I saw Foul Play became a fan of Sat Night Live and fell in love with Goldie Hawn and became like many a HUGEEEE fan of Steve Martin ... Both of them now are about 78 years old .... I sit here crying for the past long gone that will never come back... I lived through too many decades... Being in the year 2024 with this internet culture. Lost....

This DVD box should of been a 10
11 March 2024
The reason I gave it a 8 was because of Shout DVD. Most of it was perfect. There was no reasom why Shout cut the live parts of A Wild and crazy guy. And two why that added a laugh track to Comedy is not pretty. They ruined these two classic shows . The first two I seen. In 78 and 80. They were fine the way they were. The HBO show was classic just a little rushed. The second disc as far as I know was fine the way it was With the concert in 1979 the commercial show and Best Show ever . And the TV appearances was great for what it was. There was no reason that Shout has to mess with the Ist two. ,

This Waits performance is just rare
26 February 2024
If you collected all the Pro Shot and bootlegs and then this which is like it during this whole 80's era. Did he even tour in 1992 I can't find Bone Machine concerts anywhere. And I think I know why .... 1992 since Waits has tons of footage from the 1970's almost nothing in the 1980's and 1990's except again TV... And after 1999 were all aud shot shots of probably up to 2008 tour. And all three era's including watching Big Time which to me was the most hilarious I ever saw him and and totally energetic... The aud shows after 1999 from what I scene he's more just into the performance. Recommended !!!

If you're a fan of The Band your in for a treat.
13 November 2023
I'm a huge Band fan ... And I knew Robbie Robertson who just passed away and was ever sullen for weeks when I heard about it ... Acts in this film almost as himself ... He's actually great in it with a great cast from 1980 Jodie Foster Gary Busey and wow Meg Foster is just so beautiful it's insane but has a small part .... Basically like The Band song about carnivals. I didn't know what to expect I just knew that Robbie was in this film more like the star of the movie... And also musical and story consultant ... I know he worked with Martin Scorcese and I''m curious if Robbie I know Levon did ..

Before watching watch behing the scenes
13 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I first saw this film in 2006 in a small theater and I dragged what I had then these few friends of mine. This was basically the end of my friendship with these people and second there interest in David Lynch ended at this theater with me panicking ... It looked terrible on this screen in the only theater it was playing in NYC. I think we we're in the village it was downtown for sure far from broadway. Sound was bad picture was really dark just a bad experience .,, But before I watched it again from DVD... I saw a documentary about this film.. And there was just something wrong with Lynch... He seemed angry at and yelling at what seemed like college students as his crew... He seemed a lot older then like Mullholland Drive and burned out ... And at the time he had this fixation for these tiny Sony Digital cameras that weren't even HD yet. It was the fact they were early digital and he didn't have to work with 35 mm anymore ( that's why in 2022 he re released this mess again but in 4K that should be out in a week which I'm interested in seeing just because the original looked so amateur ... That I noticed .. He seemed inpatient angry over details like the Poland sequences with graffiti on the walls..Yelling or just manic again at not the cast but the crew like they were incompetent. He was not known to be like this on a movie set .. There was a seen when he driving in cold weather in Poland uttering in a deep depression.. I don't know what the hell I'm doing ... ( which lead later on to Twin Peaks for Showtime same kind of madness. You wonder if he hasn't done but two works in 20 years ... Longer then Kubrick... Supposedly now in year 2023 he was supposedly working on something but I really don't think that's the case... He's close to 80 was a chain smoker and looks like he's near death .. Speaking of death.. After the latest Twin Peaks was made in 2016 I think many people in the original and new cast were dying left and right it was like freaky .. So many passed ... I don't even want to start .. As for the movie when I viewed it on DVD so I can see what I missed in that horrible theater ... It was a bit of a mess in a way a hodge podge of a work that was already done called Rabbits and the rest was just trippy and almost comical in a way ... Like Lynch on a low budget and one of the woman in the film that kind of turned me on Lynch actually married where I was like well that figures lol ... I swore she had a tiny scene in Mullholand Drive barely seen... So the movie is like about a director ready to make this film and then it turns out this was a second time they tried to make this film because the person who wrote it was murdered or something like that.. And then a warning from Lynch;s use of Laura Palmer's mother mentioning brutal murder a neighbor who lives in the woods of a affluent neighborhood and then the madness begins ... Is it a dream is it witchcraft... Who knows... But we watching a movie within a movie being made where in the end Laura Dern goes into shock she ends up on the Rabbits show she gets stabbed from well I'm not going to get into that... She's dying hanging out with this hilarious scene with this woman lecturing her ... And I'm going out of sequence .. There's all these hookers in it with pimps and then the guy from Mullholland drive who's married but has a thing for Laura but then doesn't LOL then she walks through a theater with Red Curtain goes upstairs to talk to some guy in a southern accent and I don't know if she's the rich actress anymore playing the role or goes into this like low class world and looks beat up ... I mentioned the Rabbits ... But this leads to the same kind of hallucination thing with Twin Peaks where it's the same kind surrealism.... What really happened when Kyle said what year is this ... I think Lynch lost it does meditation actually work or make you insane ...

This was one of the worst documentaries and a legit one.
1 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know who made this the director... Well if it was ... He should look for a different line of work ... First of all the only band member here that had any signficance what Robert Fripp. And something is bugging him... I don't know if it was because it was the end of Crimson forever .. But he just seemed like a bitter old business man... Which part of this is true. If you do you own view of Crimson which your going to have to ... In my opinion I look at it like this In the 1970's 1980's and 1990's up to when those letters. EG was dismissed and I forget if it was the 1990's or not. But that just symbolic. It's about when first King Crimson made their first box set which mostly everything has been compact discs since. From the first square CD box set with that black and white booklet square shape next the live The Great Receiver and then Crimson reunited in 1994 for Vroom to Thrak ... Technology was taking more control over the band they toured from 1994 to 1996 and then Robert thought up of a idea to somehow get rid of Brugord and Levin called The Projeckts ... This had the new technology of Sound scapes the Roland drum kit making the stick talk and Bruford doing some insane stuff on a acoustic kit some of the more far playing I ever heard him do ... And withoutwarning Crimson with Belew ( you have to wonder about that did Robert really want like David Sylvian or who he eventually got Jakko who I never really liked and even more his remixing on certain classic Prog albums were ruined the high end when he would mix stuff barely existed... You have to multi crank the high end to hear anything. But this was a beginning... It was DGMlive which gave me the creeps.... For a band who hated bootleggers basically sold everyone they could find of one and the whole control of flash photography.. Fripp was a different person in the 1970's and the 1980's but the 1990's he mainly sat in the dark directly in the middle between Pat and Bill with no light almost like he wasn't there and had no emotion. Like he just seemed distraught and the 1990's was a freaking long tour for 2 years. So what started at remastering kept getting remastered and finally he emptied the vault out which I was and Crimson fans were wishing for but then you get them and your so overwhelmed you don't even want to hear the band anymore... And from someone who probably didn't want to sell mugs and shirts of Crimson's career that's what you will find on DGMlive.... Box sets shirts buttons ties just everything Crimson.. When there was time you be lucky to get a live album... So Fripp in the movie has this strange I'm not sure what it is because every word I think of will probably be wrong. And the documentary this Crimson was 90 percent a well oiled cover band... With nothing but complaining. This is not what Crimson is about but that's what I saw...And that's why the Q and A people even I watching was afraid of Fripp he's like so how did like this piece of crap.

IN 2022 YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW IMPORTANT THIS FILM IS.
12 October 2022
I found out about this film because around 2010 I suddenly got seduced by Julianne Moore. I first point out one thing. I'm a little confused about some of the content . But this was made in 1995 and was the prototype for life in 2022 and on. This was really before the internet. Now I see Julianne illness which I guess was environment. But with the internet full fledged and smart phones. You see what it did to Julianne's condition. That's what's it's dong a billion times worse in 2022 ... We are diminishing and evaporating. We are not human anymore. We are letting machines taking lives like me.

Elvis (2022)

Another repulsive more money making movie for the dead king
11 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In this day we live in which I call The End ... We yet think we are watching another movie about Elvis... But who's the star of the movie making the most money... Tom Hanks yes Tom Hanks is behind all that repulsive obese make up to tell the absolutely most hideous story in music history... The fat lonely circus freak Sgt Tom Parker .. For that was not his real name nor was the US his real country ... He was a misfit from the then Netherlands .... Neither .... Lands .... Just a junkie of casino's .... Who probably was in more debt wasting his non existent life playing every game in every casino in that hideous place called Las Vegas.... By 2022 probably every second ( I don't know about Hanks creepy over acting the real Parker seemed like a cigar chewing control freak... It's true that if there was no Parker there would of been no Elvis freak show ... And frankly when I think about it I wish there wasn't ... I actually saw Elvis when I was 6 in August 1975 at the Nassau Coliseum I have to say it was a Earth shattering event nothing like being a Elvis concert ... Some how when I was two years old I was actually playing my mothers ( NOT MY LATE FATHERS ) my Mothers Elvis records... When I learned later about 50 years later... My mom knows about 10 songs he did I bet myself if I stuck out a piece of paper and said list 10 Elvis songs you know maybe she would fill out 10 .... I know a lot lot more including 200 FTD titles she wouldn't have the faintest idea what that even meant like I said yeah there's like 200 FTD titles I think I'm up to 192 a soundboard show in Atlanta or whatever it is most wouldn't ,,, I was a fan of him and his music ... Like James Garner guy who was on the Rockford Files and whatever else he did and hmmm a combo between Cary Grant and. Gregory Peck who to me look like the same person..But to me to sum a lot of this up Gregory Peck is this FRANK ZAPPA -- THE ADVENTURES OF GREGGERY PECCARY She won't admit it's more like she's a teen that's still stuck in the 1950's... This also has damaged her psychologically in ways I can't explain... She will keep sending me Elvis stuff articles calendars just all kinds of cheap Elvis stuff... She doesn't seem to understand there's like 5,000 items in this room which I own and Elvis is about .05 percent of it ... like I have a large FRANK ZAPPA catalog ... And that sums up the movie and that Elvis was really part of my 1970's childhood but know a days there is some kind of psychosis vs the authentication of reality and crap. ... There's no point in watching this POS ...It doesn't teach you just stay away from 400 pound people ...

sigh I'm afraid I'm living this movie
30 August 2022
But I can make a better one about myself... Is this a actor with all his head tics... Pulling his hair touching his face ... Just nervous around people lives with his 78 year mother and crazy sister... Graduated from HS where there was so much pomposity it winds up on Facebook. And it's the same ... No one likes you and you fade from Facebook to a lonely life no one loves you .. I'm not annoying like the character in this film but my life went by too fast I'm in my mid 50's thinking about where I can get Fentanyl Fudge. I feel life serves no purpose half of me wants to be Anti Christ and watch humanity just die and the other half knows it's not going to happen and I will on my own will make that sarafice .. So I'm up to The Who book scene which I have personally owned since 1982 . And still sits on my shelf.. I have a room filled to the brim with music video tapes records CD's computers just crap to fill the nothingness and know it's nothing ... I don't feel anyone loves me or cares... So you do the same you stop caring .. They stop caring or never did... Yeah I can make movie that you just die in the end. As I watch... Get it.

Two words Julianne Moore
6 July 2022
I didn't really like this movie . I don't really like Scarlett the actress or the character she played. She's every male's worse nightmare. Julianne Moore as a person actress model a gorgeous red woman. I first saw her in Boogie Nights. And here is the truth. There was a girl I graduated with that while in HS looked like Julianne Moore and just sparked like her and became the woman like Scarlett died her hair blonde married some bloated unattractive rich guy.. And crushed me or the fantasy. But she was my inspiration when I realized who Julianne represented. But Julianne especially if you look her name up and click images... There's 1000 of photos and every photo of her sparkles . She is the woman I'm waiting for not the real Julianne but someone that looks exact like just everything about her represents color beauty and more of all purity. I just turned 53 and I tend to like male character who I despised ... But what I realize is I spent my whole life wasting it on adult stuff started when I was a child lusting after actresses and singes and models then in the 1980's when video tapes came around and that could rent that happened..Which when DVD and then the internet happened it became a nightmare... And when I would watch on of these billions of this stinkin square icons on millions of these sites one thing that it did do was cause depression a bad self image of myself hatred for myself and those video sites and the people in those video sites. And like 53 years old the oldest virgin in the world. And I knew this earlier on that when I made money it didn't go on so much visual material it went on worse horrible women who get paid for it ... Which I stopped that also because it killed what was once the thrill and turned not really a video watcher or anything just someone who hates himself but is wanting needing almost to the point of taking my own life because I can't have. Someone like Julianne Moore. There's no happy ending to this and I feel alone on the planet ... Thank God life does end . So it will end my pain. God bless Julianne Moore for making me believe that purity exists but you end dying alone for it.

Not I'm working so hard.

A review for Lydia
14 March 2022
Lydia just watched this movie. In 2022 Didn't know it was made in 2019. Well here's not a review but something you didn't expect.

I don't believe in the Earth anymore Lyd. I think how can this Earth explode how can the earth become one with the sun. Or all those gigantic rock from the universe how come it keeps missing us. Where are the aliens to come and have zap weapons and Earth vanish. For I don't care about human suffering or humans period. I don't have to bring up Charlie or Adolf... I'm talking OUTSIDE INSIDE... I'm talking Earth destruction I'm talking Earth alienation annihilation... I'm waiting for like Saturn to just all the sudden move and smash into Earth... I don't have to even mention Earth cause it's not here... It's been Kaboomed. Earth explosion blow up so fast no one even knew they even has a self for a millisecond ... See it's like death isn't it... Nowhere No one Nothing... I am the mind destroyed through Earth evaporating... And it's basically the same bullsheet over and over again...

Life in 2021 is out of balance
22 February 2021
I saw the first film many many times... This was 1983 probably. I did not care for the 2nd or 3rd version... Because the first film what the director visioned was he not only correct .... Life has gone beyond that to where death for humanity is the only sense I can conceive now... The internet since it became a household item now the phone has crushed our natural ways of being. We are robots people to me are robots. And I have become robot. So a suicide is the only out of this I can vision. I don't even want to type this or anything anymore. Or be flesh anymore. I want to be nothing. And with Covid just spreading Trump before that. I won't know it but I'll know I won't be able to right this again.

Wow what the hell ?
5 February 2021
I saw this movie in 1982 I suppose ... I don't know who made this movie but it's like they had a deficient brain. I watched a bunch of crap and by the time the movie got rolling and more looking forward to Margot Kidder there was 30 minutes left of the movie... Like they had ideas for a story line but a 90 minute film didn't cut it or they should of cut most of the crap in the a prison cell and wanted him to sign some papers. Now I'm about to watch the last 30 minutes ... What in the hell are they going to even work out in 30 minutes that's with the 3 minute credits. I was a major Richard Pryor fan around this time and I remember being with my now late Dad watching this movie and walking out and being completely like what that movie any good ? I was 12 I guess when I saw this. So Silver Streak it wasn't I also saw Stir Crazy and in retrospect that wasn't really good either. I saw The Toy and that was a better made film... Although there was some issues about Pryor in the film I forget what... Even his third stand up film was bad. Live on the Sunset Strip was pretty good... His mastepiece was Live In Concert ... Probably one of the best stand up films ever made. Superman 4 sucked should I go on ? Then got MS in 1985 and that was the end of Richard Pryor. He made like a Moving film that sucked ... There was one good one in 83 I think where he drove a bus...

Oh no was this another bad Julianne film.
10 October 2020
I really love Julianne Moore... Just everything about her... But 2020 might be the end of her career... It seems like the last 10 or 15 years I'm not even sure... She has just been getting bad roles with bad films. I think since 2010 not sure of the year Juli has been making these movies that are just forgettable I can't even remember titles... And it's not her fault like the music industry it's effected many forms of art... It's more about the technology then the art. Or just before Covid hit... The so called 60's 70's even 80's actors been retiring dying or just can't get hired. Or just making crap. In many cases it's the film makers fault. And the ideas these days are just blah... And so I see 1 or 2 or 5 star reviews .... And that's enough to tell me in this case ugh another Julianne movie that bombed or whatever... Didn't work.... In 2014 or so she won that Oscar and I even then felt oh no winning the award for my last favorite film of hers which was ( see I'm trying to think of the name... ) I know her character's name is in the title. I have Safe in my head 1995 my favorite film of hers and pretty much her first... Glad they finally released that properly on DVD it's looks amazing.. Oh well time is up she dies at the end which I am currently battling .... My memory.

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Lohan what did you do !!!
13 February 2019
Touchstone films 2007 ... what the ... what did I just watch... My red headed princess this film absolutely made no .... how did this movie get made... 2019 I mean the industry is even more shot. But wow this was the beginning of the end. A corporate movie she made worse after this like home made thing whatever it was. Was this her last movie apparently in the so called mainstream industry. But ended on the ... Lohan wow this was bad. Nothing connected. It was like two non movies in one. Why was this made. How did it get out. How was the script ... I can't write full sentences. I watched this in 2019 cause I needed a Lohan movie to watch. Now I have to find another Lohan to make up for this one. Do Not Watch This Non Movie. This is a Zero... My pretty Red Lohan I'm sorry you made this. In 2019 it's probably worse to get a good role. 2007 marked the end for the cinema in my opinion. I'm not alone with the 1 rating... But since then few movies have been better. So much crap has been made since. I pass every movie that has a post 2006 date on it. I don't know. The End. No I gotta see if Herbie The Volkswagen was better.. Probably not.

Oh I wish Kevin Smith upped and passed when his time was right.
28 October 2018
I just hate Kevin Smith. His movies him and the fact that movies now are just pure crap. They got all the technology in the world. But there's no David Lynch's or Stanley Kubrick's or all those great film makers anywhere from before the year 1990. There all retired. So your stuck with this horrid theater crap. The seats are falling apart dirty multi plex's and probably recording sex in the restrooms on cell phones or the theater itself.

I keep watching it and watching it and watching it.... For what ?
2 October 2018
Oct 1 2018 episode. Long and what everything goes wrong... I guess that's the whole point to this show. I'll watch the last episode and then wait another year or more. This one seem to take forever to be aired. If they are ending it with Season 5. Please put this out of it's misery. It had potential. It just doesn't anymore. The idea sounded good before this got to paper. Once it did. I don't know. It's just whatever. Not Breaking Bad for miles.

I love Jane what can I say
28 September 2018
Always loved Jane Fonda. And excellent documentary. I recommend it. The part about Ted Turner was kind of shallow. But she seems to be doing well off. Cosmetic surgery ... Jane ??? Well the best for 80 I ever seen. You learned about her. Some I had a idea some I didn't. A lot on the Klute years. Not so much on the movies. I'm also a big fan of her brother Peter... The Trip and Easy Rider.

Julianne Moore needs to make movies like Safe
22 September 2018
Julianne was the only reason I even watched this. I felt bad that she thought this would be a good film. But the days when I was a fan ( I still am of her ) of her great films she really made acting happen. This filmed bombed so bad but it's not her fault. The movie industry has been more in a down state for years. And now and then a great film but luck gets made. The last film I saw her in was excellent when Still Alice in 2015. Since then I don't know. She reunited with Todd Haynes which I think was good I saw that. But 17,500 gross ??? How much did they pay her. This film made no money is just felt flat. With 4.7 I mean that's bad.

If you stay with the movie the greatness and the tears payoff.
11 March 2018
I'm very sad to see all the dislike reviews to this Todd Haynes film. Since he made Safe also with Julianne Moore. It was both there first films together. You'll like this film. I'm not going to give any of it away. I just want to save it from all the bad reviews I see here. It's a 2 hour Todd Haynes film. You have to stick with it even for me it was hard but sometimes with a film you have to go with it. And like the other films I see him do. There always beautiful and the tears for this one was hard to hold back. It all makes sense in the end. And it's a interesting story. The 1970's songs he picked were great. Anyway Todd great job on this. I didn't even know about it. Till today.
