Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan ...
11 January 2022
The story revolves around the life of Mary Anning, one of the greatest fossil hunters of Britain when the scientific world was dominated by men, and her bond with Charlotte Murchison. At those times women were not allowed to attend university, to hold a public office or to cast votes. The chemistry between Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan is impeccable. This is a love story between a hardworking independent woman and one wealthy married and depressed. Summing up, I think the director did a good job and I really loved the beach scenes where you see Mary Anning working.

A journey of change
11 January 2022
This is a journey of change, a story about survival in the wilderness. The interaction between Barry Pepper playing a cold man who doesn't respect the natives and Annabella Piugattuk a native girl with warm personality who knows how to survive in those harsh environments. Summing up by quoting Kanaalaq : "Walk Well My Brother".

The king and his gardener
11 January 2022
This is my first movie with Alan Rickman as a director. The other one which I hope I will see soon : The winter guest. Sometimes a little chaos brings more light than too much order can. The performance from Kate Winslet is as strong as in the other movies she starred. She and Alan Rickman are a delight to see on screen: The king and his gardener. He really chose the perfect actress for the movie.

Nice idea, decent movie
7 January 2022
You can easily relate to this movie being in love with beer and having constant blackouts. Nearly every single time I found out about the happenings the second day or sometimes never. The train being life played on fast forward with just glimpses of other's lives. Just like me sitting here and reviewing this. I've seen some movies with Emily Blunt, but I think in this one she displays one of her best performances.

Shining despite everything

Never imagined Geoffrey Rush delivering such a strong "goofy" performance. Schizophrenia isn't mentioned in the movie, but the leading actor offers a perfect show. The mental illness can be there, but can be further developed living in a hostile environment. Regardless of these things, the movie manages to set above ugliness the beauty of powerful music scenes.

Post apocalyptic, but more...
7 January 2022
I don't remember seeing any other post-apocalyptic movie or series so artistic. Usually these post-apocalyptic movies/series are about survival, are fast-paced, too much action and no character development. Station eleven is presented on multiple timelines and has so many scenes and shots so beautifully taken combined with some awesome piano scenes (Liszt - La Campanella the conductor scene). Seems like a more alive society after these apocalyptic events and quoting a character: "This strange and awful time was the happiest of my life".

Empowering drama
6 January 2022
I've not seen too many movies starring Casey Affleck as a leading actor, but in this one he probably performs much better than in the other movies I've seen ( Gone Baby Gone, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford Robert Ford , Light of My Life, Gerry ). Empowering drama seems to be the words for this movie. The only downside I can think of is the runtime, I would've liked to see more. (seemed like it ran just for an hour .... that fast it felt).
