Phenomenal sets and camera work
alanpuzey27 July 2020
The sets never cease to amaze me in this series. In fact the overall production hits a high level throughout.

This episode contains an amazing final 15 minutes centering on Mrs Maisel and Lennie Bruce which was film-making perfection.

Great episode. I've loved the chemistry between Lenny and Midge. The last scene has broke my heart because I had gone through the hope of love and the rejection in the end, in my life. I've understood Lenny.

I came here just to say that the last 15 minutes of this episode was absolute perfection. Rewatched it several times and discover something new every time. Superbly acted, filmed and soundtracked. Whew! The chemistry between Midge and Lenny is just palpable. I hope it get consummated in the coming seasons. Hope we don't have to wait too long for season 4. Lets hope they are in a bubble somewhere, filming as we speak!

Fabulous episode
csm-781195 August 2020
This is one of the very best episodes in the first 3 series. It has laugh out loud comedy, is magnificent on the eyes and the sequence from Midge meeting Lenny up to his line "sometime before I die?" is just sublime. This really is top drawer entertainment.

Amazing cinematography!

This was a very good episode, was maybe a little slower then some of the others and had some redundant filler moments, but what really stood out was cinematography during last 15 minutes of the episode; it was amazing! It really set the mood, you could feel it as you were there and you really didn't need any words to accompany it. A masterpiece! Well done M. David Mullen and Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Wacky Episode
Hitchcoc31 January 2020
So much goes on here. We have the appearance of the parents in Miami after some hilarious scenes at the in-laws home. We have Susie trying to balance her time between her volatile client and who learns to open a door. Then there is the relationship with the self destructive Lenny Bruce. Great cinematography and wonderful music and comedy to die for. Abe has an incredible scene on the subway after he gets thrown out for bringing "his friends" home.

Superlative

Warning: Spoilers
Entertaining. Wonderful and witty. In the beginning I thought Midge and Susie had become her parents, then I realized they were Moishe and Shirley. Only better. The swimming pool scene was Gold. It was Platinum! It was comedy, written and performed by women to a degree to rival creation level artistry. If God wrote comedy, he would have written this scene. And performed it. Both parts! Having the maid go rogue was evil, and genius. And I know what happens with Lenny, later in life, but now, in this moment, I needed this for him as much as he did. Everything about them in this episode felt like destiny. I know it's for the best but I'm heartbroken. 10 of 10 stars with a bonus of 2 stars because A) I laughed so hard I peed, and then B) I experienced the greatest date ever.

Finally, it's bacckkk!
Ddped11 December 2019
I do not know what happened in the first three Midge episodes of this series, but instead of it being "funny" kvetching, it was just kvetching! The proletariat scenes were simply irritating and the Abe and Rose downsizing annoying. Not just not funny, but grating! Finally in episode 5, Midge and Susie are back! Smart, funny, timing back on track. Great soundtrack. Whew! Glad I hung in there a little longer. I think Shy is more Johnny Mathis, but there is some Belafonte. Hopefully others will make it past the first three episodes. Clearly Joel will step more center stage this season. I am sure it is not easy to come up with fresh material season to season, but please come up with something better for Abe and Rose so their characters do not sour on us. Shalhoub is a fabulous actor but his cluelessness was grating with the proletariat invasion and the reason for downsizing not believable. Standing up for one's rights (Rose) is one thing but being stupid about it is another.

Anyway, it's finally back! And now onto other episodes of the Mrs. Maisel I loved and admired, minus episodes 1-3! Hopefully the writers now keep up the smart writing that has been acted by top notch actors, who deserve good material and produce when the writing is good and the scenes are believable and funny! End of my own kvetching! Now onto episode 6! The ship has finally righted itself!
