J'onn J'onzz : Well, most of these are from the aliens in my support group. This box is from members of a Crime Watch I helped set up to catch taggers who were spraying "Free Ben Lockwood" up and down the block. And these flowers are from a Toomian whose, uh, lost family I found.
Alex Danvers : Well, it is amazing how many clients you've already helped. I mean, you left the DEO with the goal to change your life, and you have.
J'onn J'onzz : I sense discontent in your voice. How are things with Haley? Better?
Alex Danvers : Um, she's been in Washington, so that's good, I guess. It's just, seeing how much you've accomplished, it reminds me of how little I've done since I took over the DEO.
J'onn J'onzz : You have not done little. Mercy and Otis Graves. Agent Liberty.
Alex Danvers : I mean in my personal life. I took over the DEO to use that stability to finally be able to pursue the things that I want. And I did, you know, at first. And I dated a lot.
Kara Danvers : Oh, we know.
Alex Danvers : Yeah, well... you know, and I was also working on my adoption portfolio, but, you know, when President Marsdin got exposed, it kind of all just fell to the wayside. It's weird, because I feel like I have this capacity for so much more lately and I'm doing nothing.

Alex Danvers : Colonel Haley? I didn't expect to see you so soon.
Colonel Lauren Haley : Yeah, well, I came back early to help my daughter.
Alex Danvers : You have a daughter?
Colonel Lauren Haley : Don't look so surprised, Director. I do have a life outside the service. She was having trouble on a school project, so I came back to help her. You'd be impressed by what I can do with a glue gun.
Alex Danvers : It must've been nice for her to have some time with her mom.
Colonel Lauren Haley : You know, working with her was much more pleasant than my time at the Oval.
Alex Danvers : I take it that part didn't go over so well.
Colonel Lauren Haley : The president wanted answers I couldn't give him about the rage drug you dealt with the other week. He's also dismayed that Ben Lockwood is polling better than he is.
Alex Danvers : Well, we are all dismayed by that.

Alex Danvers : It's like the creature extracted his heart perfectly. There's minimal tissue damage. There's no blood loss. It's like it cauterized itself.
Querl Dox : A sophisticated killing. Much like its ship, which presented as solid rock. Also, what's interesting is this creature's shed skin suggests that it underwent some sort of metamorphosis quickly after arrival, which I do find comforting. I would much rather face that anything snake-like, which I do have a deep phobia about. As any rational being would.
Alex Danvers : You hate snakes?
Querl Dox : Yes. Much like the hero of the Spielberg epic "Raiders of the Lost Ark". A terrific picture.

Alex Danvers : Any luck narrowing things down?
Querl Dox : I'm working on it.
Alex Danvers : Then why are you looking up Valentine's Day gifts?
Querl Dox : I am 85% focused, which is the equivalent to a very capable CSI team. Now, I just have one other matter of importance to take care of, and once I do, I guarantee you 100% of my mind. Unless, of course, you'd like to help out? In which case I could stop multitasking sooner. I'm sure of it.
Alex Danvers : I hate Valentine's Day.

Colonel Lauren Haley : Two more victims were just discovered. They lived in a mansion a mile from where that pod landed. Same exact cause of death. We need to find whatever killed these people before we have a panic on our hands.
Querl Dox : If my interpretation of the data is correct, this is what we're looking for.
Colonel Lauren Haley : [seeing his rendering of the alien] What is it?
Querl Dox : Unknown.
Colonel Lauren Haley : I've updated the president. He wants this kept out of the press. Humans are already feeling so vulnerable.
Alex Danvers : We'll do whatever we can.

Querl Dox : Today, Nia Nal invited me to attend a Valentine's Day party. She said "It's a date." Yet her intentions were unclear.
Alex Danvers : "It's a date" does not sound unclear.
Querl Dox : It never occurred to me that someone as amazing as Nia Nal would be interested in me.
Alex Danvers : Well, then I guess the bigger question here is what do you want?
Querl Dox : I want her to be my valentine.
Alex Danvers : Well, then bring her a gift that expresses that.
Querl Dox : What a bold idea from a very bold person, Alex Danvers.
Alex Danvers : Ugh, if only. I mean, here you are in the middle of a crisis carving out time to figure out your life.
Querl Dox : Multitasking.

Alex Danvers : Hey, J'onn, is everything okay?
J'onn J'onzz : I have a client whose husband, the Director of Alien Affairs, might have been the victim of a hate crime. I-I could use your help tracking down a potential lead Kara helped me come up with.
Alex Danvers : I'm sorry, I've got an unidentified alien threat that I'm trying to track. But you should call Brainy; I'm sure he could help. He's great at multitasking.
[she sees him shopping for Valentine's Day gifts again; seeing her, he quickly closes the window]
J'onn J'onzz : [hanging up] She re-directed me to Brainy. So much for my matchmaking skills.
Kara Danvers : Well, the lead was bad, anyway. There's no release address for Roberts because he's already back in prison.
