SUPERGIRL SEASON 4 RATINGS
OH MY GOD what an absurd season s.4 was, with ''Blood Memory'' being the worst episode i have watched yet!!!
All this political and social stuff about the ''aliens'', that the writers were preaching with every chance, made the season ultra exhausting. By the way, this is the first time i saw such harmless and normal ''aliens''. In fact i am positive i have never seen again writing so terrible and sloppy like s.4's. Unfortunately this worsened the characters even more than s.3 did. There is nothing super about Kara anymore. Leigh was in great form, but they made Alex look more like a man (and even though she is supposed to be the toughest character in the show, she was whining about absolutely everything). I will not comment at all on how they messed with the Danvers sisters connection. Jonn (the only constant success from the writers in the previous seasons) was lost. Lena for most of the season was given nothing meaningful to work with. James doesn't even earn his place in the show. Despite Brainie being the most likable and funny person in the show, he was portrayed too naive way too often. Nia is in the show ONLY because she is a trance. Saying the action scenes were laughable is the understatement of the decade, the fights, especially, are worse that a bad 2000's DTVmovie. There is an unbelivable amount of artificial drama.
Now about the villains. Yes as expected most of them were complete failures (like Manchester Black). Red Daughter could have been a remarkable and tragic figure, but after giving her some good teases and an excellent episode (= House of L), the writers dealt with her with zero respect and time. HOWEVER, through all of this disappointment, we at least took an outstanding incarnation of Lex Luthor. Not only the writers made a surprisingly good job with him, Jon Cryer's phenomenal performance made Lex a blast of a villain. If he had more than just 3 (good) episodes, he certainly would be ranked among the top three of the greatest Arrowverse foes
Overall rating: 6.3/10
