Shell Suit

High gear now as we approach the final straits of this second season of "Lost In Space".

Maureen (Molly Parker) and John (Toby Stephens) are trapped outside of the ship and unable to keep up with the Resolute as it orbits the gas planet, cleaning its water supply. Will (Maxwell Jenkins) and his sisters attempt to hide the robot Scarecrow from Hastings (Douglas Hodge) and the security team.

Again, as with most of this season, I think it's really good stuff. It's visually very strong. It makes a lot more sense logically than the first season did - and once you accept that the show is about the constant peril that they're in, it improves your experience no end.

More action. More suspense. More human villains. I loved the original series but this is really better.

This episode centers mostly around the robot.

Warning: Spoilers
The robot shows considerable compassion for "scarecrow" - the robot damn near killed by Hastings and his ilk.

This episode is one of my favorites because it shows the robot to be practically the only character who seems to understand the spirit of humanity and uses this against the humans "he has adopted" - not the other way around. It puts all efforts to assist the humans on hold and engages all his energies into assisting a fallen comrade/friend/family. He eventually accomplishes this by appeasing to the compassion of the humans - in particular, Ben Adler. Adler had brought his electrical weapon intending on recapturing the robot to power the Resolute but in a last plea for assistance "Help. Ben Adler" "Ben Adler. Help Family" as he points to "scarecrow". Adler is overwhelmed by the compassion and understanding of the robot as showing itself more than just a non-organic artificial life form. Ben had been fighting an internal battle of his wits as he watched the robot learn to care for other life forms on the amber planet. Ben ultimately helps Will pull scarecrow onto the J2 and they take him to the ring on the amber planet where the lightening storm strikes. Ben Adler sacrifices himself in this endeavor but dies with the satisfaction that his boyhood dreams of meeting and interacting aliens has come to fruition.

A good very dark episode
marianthenightman11 January 2020
The story is getting much better, just as the ratings are showing, but i'm very bothered by the Star Trek Discovery and Killjoys woke style of the uniforms, which are absolutely crap compared with the uniforms from Stargate ,BSG,B5,SAAB,DS-9 or Andromeda ,so please stop this stupid tendency ,just stop it ,it is so painful to watch them used over and over again ,even if anybody doesn't like them ,i mean the colors are ok but those uniforms have nothing realistic .

It just gets worst and worst
steliosoik-1536327 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is the most illogical tv series I have ever seen. The physics are not there, the actors are not there, the story is not there. Really the best thing of the tv series is the robot but is unbearable to watch because of the low quality script. In this episode again the Robinson family proves to be the smartest people in the galaxy where they always find solutions using maths and physics while the maths and physics don't make any sense whatsoever. The "bad" characters are laughable with Dr. Smith being the worst character closely followed by the safety commander of the ship. The plot just doesn't make sense! The tv series has amazing graphics but instead of "interstellar" we get fast food for the eyes.

Very bad
natashaconnor-9192431 December 2019
It got worse. More stupid lens flares, new creation of unnecessary villains, stupid one liners and just bad. Really bad.
