This is an informational episode.
It doesn't excite too much which is why I gave it a 7. It accomplishes its task of being an episode that will set up the future. Especially, following a pilot that is visually and story-wise stunning; this is an episode built-up to wow us later. So, for that I'm excited.
Also, there is some awkwardness in spacing for the story. The idea of going for the rope, finding the wall, letting Ray in on the plan, and introducing sister Krone is a lot to undertake in one episode, so either it's just awkwardly spaced and they wanna push the story forward (which would be very indicative of how the rest of the show will go), or they wanted to push the story along in order to spend time on things later on. The latter excites me deeply, especially with a few ideas of where they would spend their time further along in the storyline.
Ultimately, this is a solid episode that will, hopefully, set up the future of the show well, but as a stand-alone episode, it's a little dull.

Warning: Spoilers
Idk if this is a thing with all anime (shows) or what but the constant exaggerated movements and melodrama is so so irritating. The voice acting is just so annoying. Also, how is this kid so smart??? He's between 6-12 and is figuring things out in no time like he belongs on university challenge. Also, I really really don't like the music. Also, this episode was literally just talking and explaining, explaining and talking. We got pretty much nothing out of it. Very little creativity, very little to hold my attention. I'll admit that even though his character is very unrealistic, I do still quite like Norman, and at least the episode seems to have given us a proper direction for the rest of the season. I just don't know if I've come into anime with the wrong expectations, because stuff like Studio Ghibli or Satoishi Kon is much more nuanced and less melodramatic than this
