Entertaining but it didn't look like the UK to me.....

I love the characters in this TV series and every episode so far. However I'm UK born and bred, which prompted me to write a short review. Let's just say the London scenes were a tad goofy. Surprising, since you filmed in Paris, so why can't you please film in London? The only UK clip was of the River Thames from the air.

Please guys try to spend a few $$$$ in Brexit London. The exchange rate makes it so cheap for you guys. It is an amazing city. The best!

US viewers deserve some beautiful London scenes of say Fitzrovia or Kensington, however if that's too expensive try Pimlico, Little Venice or Notting Hill, or even Uber trendy Camden would have been acceptable. A car chase perhaps in an old Jaguar!! After all we have had the Citroen DS in earlier episodes, we need a Lotus or a an old skool mini. We also need a London bus or tube scenes... The only real UK clip was of the River Thames from the air. A real shame since the family were so looking forward to this episode and see the old country on the small screen.

If you do need to film in another country doubling for another, then try to find one that works as an authentic double, kinda like you do with Toronto for NYC. Just bring in the trash and bad sidewalks and hey presto, a Toronto Street is now Manhattan. However in the case of this episode Prague is certainly not London and can never be.

Goofs: The shinny strategically placed red phone box hovering in the background like the leaning tower of Pisa was just laughable. The police cars even had cheap replica license plates (wrong fonts). Try harder chaps!!!!

The streets in this episode were far too soiled for London, sidewalks also had yellow painted curbs (unheard of in the UK with it's yellow lines on the edge of the road). The street graffiti wasn't art in the style of Banksy; it was all far too Euro-trashy. Still overall a good plot and entertaining.

Not London

I'm a big fan of this show and love the locations. I have visited all the places they have filmed in. As someone who lived in London for 28 years, I was looking forward to this episode.

The first outdoor scene in London was outside a church, which was definitely not an English church. The building behind the bench that they sat on had widows you would never find in England.

All of the outdoor scenes were obviously Eastern European. Did they think that an American audience would be duped? Certainly no European would think this was any part of the UK.

From the fake London interiors to just about everything else "English" in this programme. They got it wrong.

Funny and entertaining

This English job is funny and entertaining. Yes, you do occasionally need a bit of suspension of belief (not giving away anything) but apparently this is par for the course for this show. That is why it is listed as "comedy drama" and not "high art". The downer critics need to loosen up and give the rest of us a break. This is entertainment, not reality. And for fans of the now returning "Librarians" franchise, you would likely love this one too. And of Course Librarians is back on TNT.
