Things escalated quickly
patrickgamer69028 March 2019
What seemed to be an usual hunting episode quickly turned out to a battle between nephilim and angels.

14 seasons and supernatural keeps surprising me. The directing , acting and pacing were all just perfect this episode. The first twenty minutes are gonna throw some people off thinking this must be some filler but damn oh boy that final 15 minutes just hit the ballpark for me.

10/10.

Definitely didn't see this coming

"I'm not a child. I'm the son of Lucifer. I'm a hunter. I'm a Winchester!" This is way too cool, well....... like Dean level cool! Definitely didn't see this coming! I didn't even know archangel can be killed like this! This show has gone way to far from the beginning. But what can I say, I just love these Winchester boys. I didn't realize how much I miss John Winchester till I watched the last episode. So I restart watching the first episode on Blu-ray and still bench watching the now!

Jack comes into his own
Kingslaay11 March 2019
A great episode and possibly worth the wait. Great acting from the whole cast, a deep episode and a lot covered. I couldn't believe this was the standard running time when so much was shown. Great twists and turns. From a great snake villain or demigod who did quiet well to some big story changes featuring Jack. I love how Jack came into his own in this episode. This is great character development. Many will say the Winchesters are an exclusive group. People have come close but still not in that circle. Jack finds his place as a Winchester. Can't wait for the next episode. The show must have changed writers.

Was a great episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Some people here have to understand that a Nephilim is a being that has not yet fully developed in history. We dont understand yet what the true and real power of Jack is (unless he is a powerful hybrid) and clearly this will be one of the main points that will be developed next. And I'm anxious to see!

"I'm not a child. I'm the son of Lucifer. I'm a hunter. I'm a Winchester!" < THIS WAS EVERTHING!

Noah was a great villain, probably the best mini villain that appeared on this show.

Surprise

Warning: Spoilers
Seems like the season finale was upped a few eps early! Now what?? We deal with Jack and his regained all powerful self and wonder if his soul is gone or not? Personally? I do not think Michael is gone... I think he is in Jack hiding. He is in the grace Jack consumed from him as he left Rowena. We'll see.

And Rowena is someone the brothers care about now? She used to be just a last minute go to reluctant favor granter (in exchange for something) and now she's one of the gang! TV does that to evil beings who become popular. Give them a nice side.

And what happened to the girl they took the spear from? Spear broken by Michael. She said if it was not returned to her she'd kill the brothers. Where is she??

The deaths. I personally never understood the confidence Sam had in Maggie. She seemed meek and unable to protect herself yet alone be put in charge of the "fort" while everyone else of rank was away. Maybe we'll never know what he saw in her.

I'm really shocked by the higher rating on here
CubsandCulture30 October 2021
I don't think this is a bad episode or anything but I am apparently more cool on it than a lot of the fanbase. First I think the waste the gorgon. Much more could have been of the cat and mouse game that the Winchesters found themselves in. Second, the episode is overstuffed. You have the Gorgon stuff, the Michael stuff and Rowena worried about Jack stuff. None of it is given enough time to breath.

As much as I liked the Gorgon as a character, concept I do think the bloke who plays Noah goes a bit too far into being fey. The character is a borderline stereotype of the killer queer person.

Well

Warning: Spoilers
Everything about this episode was amazing and don't get me wrong Jack was pretty badass but him downing the oldest and strongest archangel that easily ? Without even having his full powers and just a tiny bit of his soul ? That was really really weird in my opinion. Michael was really interesting and just poofing him like it was nothing was just bad writing.

Season 14 might be back on track, but at what cost?
carlathemom10 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First, spoilers. Second, am I the only one who is glad the bunker is finally empty? These people were coming and going and some not very smart person put Maggie in charge. She was never a good leader and it is a sigh of relief that she is gone. They are starting to sneak in political views as well. One of my favorite things about Supernatural is that it left our worlds crap out of Dean and Sams world. Even the president was a random guy. But they blatantly told all of us women that we have all been held down by the patriarchy and we are just now waking up and finally being strong. Oh, and men can never be helpless. We have seen many helpless men on this show. They are humans too.

The bad guy can not see Castiel or Jack, so they go to kill him. Then Dean and Sam show up. How did he not see them coming if they were coming and he saw it every other time they showed up? It made no sense. Then they let him monologue and get the drop on Cas. Then Sam and Dean take turns attacking. When did they forget how to kill things? And how did this demi God just beat up Cas? Castiel seems like he is just another human until the plot needs him to do something else.

Then Jack just kills Michael. The end. Wait what?! It was so easy, barely an inconvenience. But, at least we don't have to suffer through Jensen playing Michael anymore.

Michael is dead. Everyone in the bunker is dead. Dean blames himself, of course. And he will inevitably yell at Sam and blame him as well for not locking him in the box. Jack lost his soul. Whew. So, can we get back to hunting things, saving people, please!

Decent motw with plot coming through
shwetafabm15 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the motw was interesting. His dialogue didn't hit the nail for me much but the story with Jack was good. At this point we'll probably see Jack be a bigger part of the plot. I started caring for him a bit so i guess it's fine. I think the parallels between him and Sam a tad too much and so are the parallels between Michael Dean and Moc Dean. Like we went through the throw me in the ocean thing then and the suspense and worry of when Dean puts himself in a real risk of getting killed and turning like how here he should not be hunting if he is possessed...anyway i didn't really like how Rowena said yes... Maybe she thought she could do what Dean did and control Michael... As for Michael... I had found out that Dean gets possessed but i didn't know it would be an alternative Michael. I was pretty disappointed at the set up. His intentions seem like whatever, we don't really know anything about him until his last appearance, I think the writers dropped the ball in setting up his intentions well enough. If he wants to catch upto God how big a deal is it that the one world it opens upto had God just a few years ago and the people involved have a connection to him, you would think that would be harped on a bit. Also explains why in S13 finale he lets them live because he wants to see if God cares enough to show up since again personal connection. I liked Jensen's creepy tv Hannibal performance though a bit of it forced inorganic like why is Michael so obsessed with how pretty Dean is or why does he drink. Also thankfully Maggie or whatever is dead. I don't know what the writers were thinking with the character but we got zero depth there.

What a WASTE!!
StorieLuver8 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Michael story arc has been the best thing on "Supernatural" since the Mark of Cain, and the writers chose to end it like this?! Since the first episode of the season, when it was revealed that stabbing Lucifer with an archangel blade killed him but NOT his vessel Nick, was there really a single fan out there who wasn't fully expecting this season's finale to be a teary-eyed, desperate Sam stabbing a Michael-possessed Dean, hoping his brother survived? That moment would've been AWESOME, but instead we're given some garbage with Bambi Boy? Ugh! And Rowena as Michael? Nope. There had better be something MINDSHATTERING in store for us come April to make up for this farce. The ONLY redeeming scenes in this episode were Dean's heart-to-heart with Cas over coffee in the diner and Sam tending to his brother's head wound in the infirmary.
