This is what finales are supposed to be like. It was poised, confident and knew what it was about. I was at this show's mercy for an hour as it dug it's claws in and I just want to go back and do it all over again. Phenomenal performances, gorgeous cinematography, and some seriously brilliant final moments. Over the past ten episodes this show has grown into something truly special. The wait for season two will be torture

Unrealistic ending
jeroen-10621 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I think this ending was too binary, simplistic and unrealistic for a subject matter that was handled so subtilely in the episodes leading up to the closing chapter.
This felt almost like a poor version of a Mr. Robot episode, where suddenly 'corporate corruption at the top' and 'evil' had to be stopped and the 'network had to come down'.
The Times Square(?) shot of the TV screen showing the network being 'disconnected' was over-dramatic, out of place with the rest of the show. I also didn't feel a suicide was very realistic in this context either - not at that point in time really. Again, very over-dramatic and creating a binary good guys vs bad guys scenario that this show didn't need. There were more of these 'meh' moments but I'll spare you those.
I totally get why people will rate this 10/10, because it clearly points winners and losers, and we all cheered for the victims who finally won. I just felt the show would have been better if their little secret-interview scheme worked out (without the lame suicide) and they aired a great interview where Mitch first went his old ways, got cornered, broke and finally confessed - from his heart.
By far the weakest episode of an otherwise great season 1.

This episode was so freaking good!!! I loved the way that the story wove together, and the music, directing, cinematography, acting, everything worked SO WELL together!! I did not want it to end. I am so excited that there is another season. This is such a timely show, too!
trigger warning for this episode

I feel obligated to post a trigger warning.
it is a great show, a great episode, one of the best season finales i have seen in years!
but
please be aware that things heat up and some real consequences catch up to the characters. i felt fine and engaged this whole season, but this episode triggered something and for those who know, just know what i mean. please be extra aware and look out for yourself.

Speechless.

I have no words right now. I don't think I've ever cried THAT hard watching tv. One of the best season finales in the history of season finales. It was heartbreaking, nerve-racking and extremely powerful. The entire cast's performances were just...out of this world. I'm so happy this got renewed for season 2. I seriously don't understand why the professional critics haven't been praising this show as much as they should.
An atom bomb

Warning: Spoilers
Oh my , oh my god!
I just finished seconds ago and can't believe what i just saw! It's in another level.
If you wanna make a season finale make it like this!
The background music, the plot twist (Hannah's death, Bradley's not doing the interview, chip leaking the news, alex came into realisation of what she did), the dialogue delivery everything made it masterpiece a season finale.
It's like an atom bomb. From episode 1 to 9 those show writers made the bomb and in episode finale they decided to drop it!
Can't say more because i am still trembling and shaking from the shock of this bomb!
Just watch it. I am gonna promise you that you're not gonna regret.

The best ending to a season I've ever watched
justapeachperth11 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this show all the way through but I was completely left on the edge of my seat saying "oh my god!" To no audience because I was so impressed, moved and gob smacked at the ending. The final scene is perfect as well. A long slow shot of Mitch sitting alone at his big table in silence. What a perfect metaphor
One Of The Best Season Finales
cocoman_9221 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I have thoroughly enjoyed this show from the very beginning. The characters stories really captured my attention. So many people played such crucial roles. The finale was such a masterpiece. Seriously one of the best I've personally watched from a show in a very long time. The emotions, the pain, the loss. Such a tragic and heartfelt end to the first season.
The Most Powerful TV Episode We Have Ever Seen

What happened?!
kingkass21 December 2019
The show was going well but everything fell apart in this episode. Everything was a failure. The dialogue, the acting, the direction, the editing. It was so over the top it was laughable. It's like a child made this epsiode. Totally ruined it for me. No subtlety at all. The slow build up and intrigue and moral complexity from the last few episodes blew up here in the worst way possible.
Just WOW! ... WOW!

Now, this is how you end a season!!!
Astrid_52321 December 2019
The episode builds up minute after minute effortlessly. Fantastic direction and editing. Meaningful dialogues, a rollercoaster of emotions and a somewhat anticipated ending, but -and that's the whole beauty- without losing any of the power, meaning, suspense, emotion and fulfillment that a viewer should get from it.
This is the TV we like. This is the quality of TV we need.
Bravo!
