The Morning Show: The Interview (2019)
Season 1, Episode 10
4/10
Unrealistic ending
21 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I think this ending was too binary, simplistic and unrealistic for a subject matter that was handled so subtilely in the episodes leading up to the closing chapter.

This felt almost like a poor version of a Mr. Robot episode, where suddenly 'corporate corruption at the top' and 'evil' had to be stopped and the 'network had to come down'.

The Times Square(?) shot of the TV screen showing the network being 'disconnected' was over-dramatic, out of place with the rest of the show. I also didn't feel a suicide was very realistic in this context either - not at that point in time really. Again, very over-dramatic and creating a binary good guys vs bad guys scenario that this show didn't need. There were more of these 'meh' moments but I'll spare you those.

I totally get why people will rate this 10/10, because it clearly points winners and losers, and we all cheered for the victims who finally won. I just felt the show would have been better if their little secret-interview scheme worked out (without the lame suicide) and they aired a great interview where Mitch first went his old ways, got cornered, broke and finally confessed - from his heart.

By far the weakest episode of an otherwise great season 1.
