For a mid winter finale, this was quite impressive because normally villains aren't unmasked till the end, but Agent Liberty being unmasked was done surprising and very well done. Brilliant performance by Sam Witwer and I don't see why there is negativity on this show because honestly I'd rather these shows then stupid reality and crime shows which over here take up too much air time on TV

Don't listen to the conservatives.

That's really what best defines the anti-Supergirl "reviews" of the show. Occasionally there's a valid argument like Mehcad Brooks lacking chemistry with his co-stars, to which I mostly agree. His role would've been better suited like Flockhart was. The background character that lends a link to Superman, but no active plot-direction. No, he does not need a camera. He WAS a photographer, now he's an editor-in-chief. See the difference? But the complaints that being a liberal show is bad, including unlikely character developments to "pander" to the audience... Superman has pandered to white dudes for decades! The all-American quarterback with an unwavering moral compass. How is that not unlikely? And you can't even base his emotional state on being superhuman, because that has nothing to do with it. Raised in Kansas and American through and through. His family are his values, which raised him inclusive, empathetic and kind. *cough* Supergirl *cough* There's too many comicbook purists that doesn't like where their superheroes is headed, but think of how many young people who see these heroes now and relate because the world they are fighting mirrors their own, sans powers. The entire point of Superman/girl is that they are supposed to represent what's best in every human, to solve problems not through force, but through heart.

That said, the inconsistencies around Nia is not to be ignored. Born male, but somehow develop powers only female genes would lend her. That's iffy continuation right there.

A little better but still shallow.

Supergirl 4.08 (3.5 out of 5 stars).

The plot moves forward and thickens when Agent Liberty is attacked by Manchester. And Supergirl comes across them in a warehouse. Characters move into motion and setting up for another consequence of were the plot can go next. Brainy helps Nia from her visions that she has been getting.

There is plenty of shallow action to make this worth watching. When Supergirl gets faced with another consequence that may impact her with the government.

Say what you will about the shows agenda, but...

Warning: Spoilers
It really is REALLY stupid sometimes.

We all know that the writing of this show is mediocre at best, but we keep watching as it still manages to be somewhat entertaining.

But every once in a while there comes a moment when the writing is just SO stupid, that it really isn't acceptable any more.

In this episode it was the: Supergirl has to reveal her identity scene. Really? Who wrote this? Does everyone else in the DEO have to reveal their identities to the public too? It's a secret agency... and there is a reason why real names are kept under wraps. And it's the exact reason that Supergirl mentioned. ITS WAY TOO DANGEROUS for the persons family.

And yeah, I get that in this case not even the agency knows her real identity, but atleast the director does? And why do they need to know? Right, they don't. She's also not a regular employee and they can be happy to have her, cause without her the world would've ended several times already, soooooo

So a Few episodes ago Nia Caleb out as trans, now in this episode she has powers as She is an alien and female aliens on her planet develop powers. So trans one week and alien woman the next. Also supergirl on This show gets beaten up pretty much every episode. Show should be average girl.

It's hard to take this show serious sometimes...
Headsthalos200911 December 2018
You know it's a bad a show, when you start to side with the bad guy more than the hero. We've seen countless times of supergirl making a mess of justice to suit her own agenda. For someone who tries to uphold the law, she breaks a lot of rules to do so. This show continues to make dumb decisions with the story or the characters. The show is more worried about checking the boxes and virtue signaling than actually writing a good show. This is its 4th season and it gets worse each episode. Every so often I see a decent episode but it's so few and far between, it's rare. Maybe if the show wasn't constantly throwing every political issue down the viewers throat, it wouldn't be such a bad show.

Still horrible..
DraconianSlaughter18 December 2018
This show is still horrible and the writers still don't realize that nobody likes their liberal SJW garbage.

Please just cancel the show after this season, otherwise it's going to end up like Black Lightning. Lmao.

able to lift tall buildings in a single.....
glstrom-142604 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I am wondering if the writers are just trying too hard to entertain all age groups or on a mission to right all the wrongs they see in society today. Either way they miss the mark repeatedly by making the titular character of the show NOT SUPER. Oh I suppose actually lifting an entire building off the ground is supposed to make up for Manchester double crosser (oh, is he from Great Britain???? how could I tell with union jack t shirt in every frame and his very own personalized brass knuckles...give me a break) fooling her not once but twice....Super NUMB Kara. The strongest steel in the world...how did the guy go out of business with that as an asset?

Lena mad scientist, doing it alone, tells her story in a thoughtful way then kills the kid off in the name of science....isn't she supposed to be running CATco? And James, so easily swayed and played, so much for the crack reporter instincts and never once has the dude taken a photo on this show. Yes, Brainy will end up with Nia, that's nice, maybe they will get him a better make up job in the meantime. Back to Supergirl being less than super, especially in the face of the loser in chief acting like a president....she is Supergirl, not your employee, and should kick your a$$ considering all she has done for the planet. Nice to remind us that it is all about poll results after all, but where are the children and why would they give a crap? Was she about to cry at the end? I enjoy her no violence credo but seriously, you are Supergirl and NO ONE makes you cry. period.

Not logical.

Warning: Spoilers
They write that Supergirl doesn't subscribe to killing, but all of liberty people get killed except the guy who started it all and is responsible for killing Jon's friends' fiancee? Either don't let anyone get killed, or don't subscribe.
