This was a touching tribute to the comraderie, loyalty and brotherhood between those in the military. IMDb did not list all guest cast. Dabney Coleman and Luke Edwards were among those with a significant enough role that they warranted a listing.

Side plot is main message: comrades

"main" plot about sailor and what happens to him and why has some interesting twists. Kept it from being average. The prime reason for my rating though is the side plot with Gibbs and an old friend of his father's. Dabney Coleman at 97! plays him, with grumpiness, an aged WWII veteran. Wonderful simple story about comrades in arms and what a child remembers about early life. Contrary to other reviewers, I thought Harmon and Coleman were both terrific. Doing this work at 97 and 67 respectively. I'm 66 and know what it takes to keep moving. Chuckling.
The Last Link, NCIS 2019 Terrific episode

Besides Mark Harmon giving another one of his fantastic jobs, Dabney Coleman, at age 87, was marvelous. A tearful conclusion of bonding and brotherhood, crossing generations. Wonderful directing from Rocky Carroll, BTW

Warning: Spoilers
NCIS tried again this week to give us a "powerful" episode, but Mark Harmon having about 50% interest in the script is not going to hook in viewers.
The actual case itself this week was kind of interesting. I just wish they explored the Torres and McGee comedy a little more.
