Only if it could have Ended S2 Better
nagpalniraj18 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Yes , Season 2 starts right where the season 1 ends and answers almost all the unanswered questions of season 1. I will list down all the aspects what I liked and I didnt in the story of S2 ( beware: spoilers ahead) What I Liked: 1. The complete arc of storyline and justice given to Gaitonde character 2. The crossover in the sixth episode of Gaitonde and Sartaj character from loving and hating the place at the same time 3. The way guruji manipulates all his disciples into Satya Ved by prompting a nuclear attack

What I didn't like: 1. The disappointing climax shown where they try to diffuse nuclear bomb and the dumb scientist trying random patterns 2. Sartaj having a moment of realization and switching at the last minute trying to save the world in a typical Bollywood fashion 3. Gaitonde character should have had more daring that was shown in Season 1. Somehow it was lacking, the way he killed Guruji was also so very bizzare. 4. The movie that Gaitonde made on himself was also kind of stupid and could have been edited out. ( I know the trivedi angle in the storyline)

There were also missing loopholes in the story as to why Malcolm killed himself in front of Sartaj ( dont tell me , that was balidaan please )

Acting was at par with Season 1 with Nawaz and pankaj tripathi outshining in the cast. Nawaz dialogue delivery is pitch perfect and Pankaj has a very calm , subtle and poetic influence in the storyline. Saif is sincere in his efforts , could have done better though. Surveen as Jojo makes an impact in her small but limited role. Kalki and Shorey are underutilized to their potential with the screen time not giving justice to their characters.

Special mention for the cinematography and dialogues. Direction of Saifs part had a lot of scope for improvement , sometimes having a feeling of being all over the place . Nawaz story part was excellently directed by Kashyap having a consistent flow in the storyline.

mohammedsulemanbalwar17 August 2019
I think the season 3 will come because the last episode is incomplete

It end when Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) enter the pattern

It also not shown whether the last input is right or wrong

Waiting to watch season 3 😍😍

AMAZING!
coolprinceofbaroda17 August 2019
Man, season 2 could not have been any better. I think a lot of people expected this season to be just like season 1 and hence they were disappointed. Season 1 had jokes, funny characters , Nudity, earthly mumbai life and a lot of Bunty. S1 kinda gave off that gangs of wasseypur vibe that we all love. But for S2, They took a different approach by choreographing the story in a very serious and poetic fashion (Well they had too because its the endgame). It totally worked IMO. The way story unfoldes in a poetic and dark manner was amazing. If you pay close attention to all the hints Guruji makes, you will understand that he actually made a lot of sense. Kinda like Thanos from the avengers. It is such a shame that the majority of the viewers could not get past the dark comedy of season 1 and appreciate the intellence behind season 2.

Bachaya ya nhi bachaya?
deepakdst29 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This show makes me surprised every time it ends a season, it is really awesome to see that much of action in a single episode, I wish that was for every episode but no, they try to unfold all the secrets in the last episode of the season, no matter how confused and bored we feel throughout the season. This is the biggest mistake. It does not makes any sense that you only keep the last episode perfect. Whatever nobody will ever get bachaya ya nhi bachaya but I think he falied because Dilbagh Singh was not that much important to put his pattern as a password. Ganesh's pattern has much more chances than him. I enjoyed this episode not the whole series that's why 10/10 for this episode and 7/10 for this series.

A very good ending unlike game of thrones. All actors did a great job. Cinematography, directions and story all are excellent. Great job Netflix.

Acting triumphs but story diappoints

Warning: Spoilers
SACRED GAMES Season 2 (8 episodes) Series Review. My rating: 3.2/5

Season 1 left us with many questions, season 2 not only delivers the answers but will leave you numbed, brainfused and also disappointed. My thoughts about season 2 were unexpectedly echoed on screen from episode 3 onwards and I had a feeling of Deja Vu. For someone like me who haven't read the novel, it was so perplexing. Yes, there were a few scenes that surprised me and cleared some doubts, but certainly I missed the thrill at the end, having guessed the ending by episode 5. A very unique twist that nobody had thought of was revealed in the beginning of episode 8 which gave a complete arc to the story. The story begins with Gaitonde (Nawaz) in disarray and Sartaj (Saif) racing against time to find a bomb. Season2 introduces new characters Kusum Devi Yadav (Amruta Subhash) a RAW agent who takes Gaitonde to Mombasa, Shahid Khan (Ranvir Shorey), a man bringing destruction to Mumbai, Batya Abelman (Kalki Koechlin), a die hard disciple of Guruji. The arcs of minor season 1 characters are shown way bigger and Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi) leads the way with everything Sacred in sacred games. Guruji is a calm as well as chilling presence and raises questions that will disturb your mind specially in correlation with the International events shown. Oh! That silken buttery mesmerizing voice of Guruji. Jojo (Surveen Chawla) is another important part of the Gaitonde story and her role in every major Gaitonde event is explained. How Jamila became Zoya is also shown. The open ending was intelligent. The high points: 1) Nawaz, Pankaj scenes and their insane acting, one in self-doubt and lost in ego while the other calm and mayavi. These two actors remind me of the classic acting duel between Nasser and Om Puri in many films. 2) Saif Ali Khan excels as Sartaj with all his frustrations, guilt and self worth. At one point he crumbles and that scene is so effectively portrayed that it should be a included in acting School syllabus. 3) The female cast is superb. Amruta Subhash, Surveen Chawla and Kalki shines in their roles and in that order. Amruta brings a subtle deadpan yet expressiveness to older Kusum that is praiseworthy. 4) Neeraj Ghaywan's direction is spot on. 5) Cinematography, sound, screenplay is very good. The low points: 1) Muthu's romantic storyline was unnecessary. 2) The subtitles were coming much before the dialogue and the quality was also bad. 3) Editing is not tight enough. 4) The ending is too abrupt and hence after finishing you feel dissatisfied. 5) I liked the open ending but there were plotholes that were completely neglected. 6) Characters of Parulkar (Neeraj Kabi) and Bhonsle (Girish Kulkarni) were not given a logical arc. Finally, the season2 of Sacred games left me with some great scenes, excellent acting, good camerawork and an unfulfilling story. A definite watch but don't expect much.

Illogical and pointless
vinnyns7718 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Imagine you are a brilliant scientist and you are given 5 chances to save the world by drawing a pattern to de-activate a nuclear bomb from going off..

do you strat drawing patterns randomly and start looking bewildered at your crew and say it didn't work for 4 freaking times!!?

what the hell were the creaters thinking!? how could they have imagined to get away with such things..

thank god for Nawazuddin, else S2 deserves to be in the gutter... disappointed..

Itna bakwaas kaise bana diya. pehle k baad.

Without counting the dots, Sartaj tried the pattern with 6 seconds left. Is it that easy to draw?

Common storyline and also tons of loopholes. Unnecessarily dragged episodes.
rahuldalal-0478816 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Story was unnecessarily dragged. Entire suspense turned out to be a common storyline repeated in many other movies of a troubled person who turns into a terrorist who vows for revenge and another character who becomes the hero while going through his own personal crisis. Add a mixture of Osho type baba who brainwashes people into believing that world is a crappy place. Add another mixture of a gangster and corrupt politicians/cops who are all involved in a grand masterplan.

Among the many loopholes in the storyline, one big one was how in the world this terrorist was able to easily get hold of Nuclear (fission) bomb that was capable of 5 times bigger blast than Hiroshima/Nagasaki bomb?

When authorities found out the exact location of the bomb, (which itself is another mysterious flaw in the storyline), they decided to drive to the location (in Mumbai traffic) rather than use air transportation?! You talking about bomb that could wipe out most of Maharashtra here! This is lazy writing.

Writer has basically picked stories from different places and combined it into one story. There seems to be no originality in the storyline at all. I have not read the book so I cant comment on that front nor compare.

Nawazuddin is a brilliant actor and for that very reason I have given this series a 3 star rather than a 1. His acting, delivery of humor etc. made this series somewhat watchable till the end. It seems there will be Season 3!

Loved Season 2 overall, not a fan of the last episode
Jesse_JFI31 August 2019
Overall Season 2 of Sacred Games has been amazing. It turned into a mixture between Wild Wild Country and Chernobyl. That ending though. The whole bomb-code thingy... It's a shame a perfectly fine season gets a bit ruined by this ending.

Climax like a 1980 Bollywood Mogambo film
pranaysanghavi18 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Just take whatever weirdness out there there is which is borderline on psychopathic tendencies (except bordering on minors) and try to glue them together to weave a story. Yes season it with the garnish of nuclear bombs, criminal mastermind Guru, divorces, pregnancies, LGBTQ, etc and there you have it. Sacred games.

Anurag needs medication. Or rather our Indian fans needed this dosage to shrug it off.
