That's probably a much better rating than this thing deserves but it's just so dramatic that I know i'm going to be addicted. I found myself talking to Netflix and yelling at the characters more than once, which is probably a good indicator that i'm engaged. The whole thing has a very soap opera feel but i'm surprisingly a huge fan of soaps, (they're basically the mcchicken of the film world- nothing of value to it but damn does it taste good) and this thing is pretty much just a soap with slightly better production values. Sappy, fairy tale romance? Check. Laughable and awkward dialogue? Check. Histrionics turned up to 11? Check. I'll definitely keep watching this one and update you guys by the middle of the season as to whether it was worth it or not.

Warning: Spoilers
Renée Zellweger is going for a Glenn Close on Damages or Ellen Barkin on Animal Kingdom vibe, but it just is not working. She doesn't have the acting chops and the writing is all over the place.
The show is kind of interesting, but it needs to be better than this to develop a fanbase.

Rene's acting and face lift is not looking great...but Blake is....

Wow. This episode is pure trash...and not really fun trash. Imagine DALLAS, but instead in the San Francisco high tech investment world.
Blake Jenner looks amazing and is the strongest actor in the piece.
But, is he a bartender...or a firefighter...or a volunteer firefighter...or an EMT..he apparently is an ex Giant. I can't quite tell from this episode. He would benefit from a more dynamic actress as his love interest.
Rene Z should be the Joan Collins of this night time soap, but she is holding back way too much. So, her evilness and manipulation comes of as completely wooden. She also exudes zero sex appeal, which would be a necessary element of making the "drama" more believable.
