Sequins is the story of a gay teen's coming of age in Blackpool. He's bullied by a horizontally challenged classmate, to the point of being hit and spat on. He has a friend who is a girl. His Dad is sullen and disapproving. But our hero has a very specific dream: he wants to be a performing drag queen! Fortunately for him, an established night club drag queen (Blackpool has plenty of those) takes him under her wing and trains him. So he comes out with a big bang at the school talent show! The theme is not new, but it still manages to bring a lump to the throat, especially if you're gay!

nice surprise

For many reasons, surprising. First because, in admirable way, the film is the mix between different pieces, from high school bulying and drag queen show, from friendship and the trust in the lead hero of a night club stars, to the song and the reaction of audience and, sure d=for the refuse of general conciliation. So, a very surprise, well acted, well story telling craft and noble message in honest and admirable simple manner proposed.
