I am glad this show is still on. It is hilarious and deals with real issues. But the new Mandy doesn't work for me, at all.

Depth not found in today's sitcoms

Warning: Spoilers
Last Man Standing after winning it's time slot every Friday night over at ABC. Moves to FOX after it's cancellation in 2016. LMS continues to win the same time slot and to grow despite a few changes in the cast. Season 7 episode 2 was a masterpiece in sitcom writing and acting. Tim Allen provides a Mike Baxter that is not a cardboard cutout. But rather a man of layers and contradictions... You know human. Never was this more noticable than with his imaginary conversation with his dead father, Bud. Choosing not to settle for the pat "I Love you" and a sappy happy conclusion, LMS chooses the ending that's more heartbreaking. When informed by the vision of his father that he too "had never told him that he loved him." Mike says "I was going to." That's perfectly imperfect...human. Sure the final act when Goodwill comes to pick up Bud's stuff we're reintroduced to our favorite TV family in their familiar form. Last Man Standing didn't just move networks to phone in paper think TV tales instead they gave us depth rarely achieved in a scant 21 minutes. Leading to the conclusion of...Yes it is "Way better on this Network."
Best sitcom on TV!

This is the most touching yet funny episode in the history of the show. NO SPOILERS but the new Mandy is doing something I don't believe Molly Ephraim was capable of, mature. She's great as the character but brings an edge she didn't have before. For example Larry Linville as Frank Burns on M*A*S*H was a hilarious character but was not that could mature and grow without destroying it's essence. Brilliant casting and a wonderful episode...A little dust got in my eye watching it.

I think it's harsh that people are making their whole review about the change in casting of Mandy when there's so many great things in this episode.
A 'Tim Taylor' clone Mike Baxter could have been, but the beauty of this show is that Tim Allen here is actually allowed to play some emotion, and he does it extremely well.
A wonderful episode. Give Molly McCook a chance!

Laugh track is ruining it for me.

Been a fan since day 1, but I don't remember the laugh track being quite so obvious in the previous seasons. Every time someone says something even remotely funny/joke-ish, out comes the laugh track. It's almost like they dont think the average Fox viewer will understand they need to laugh and give them a clue, an overly obvious one at that.
