Okay, I love the fundamental comic archetypes(because it's very clear who you're dealing with, I like that in a story), which is why I'm going on a rant, because this show was/is almost getting it, but it's messing up, more, and more in S02.
In a comic-world you need someone to rise above, and so far this season, The Gifted is lacking an actual hero, everybody is coming up short...... very short. And in this episode everything could've been fixed, IF Lauren would've just said: "It's not you" to Andy in her dream, IF Lauren would've recognized this 'sway attempt' which clearly wasn't Andy(different tone, different word-use, different mindset, clearly the Triplets), everything would've been heightened. The same goes for Polaris, she's Magneto's friggin' daughter, with a baby who's threatened by the Inner Circle, she's WAY to held back for her character, again she needs to step-up(good or bad), Polaris doesn't just hold back like that.
By just letting 'the formula' roll on, The Gifted kinda sinks into a generic-formula show(which is kind of a Marvel comic handicap lately), which is a shame, the show could be a LOT better, but you need to let the heroes be heroes, and the villains be villains, this wishy/washy stuff just doesn't work.
