A spooky and surprising short film

"Esconde-Esconde" ("Hide-and-Seek") is a thrilling, frightening and quite humored short film about a bored couple (Raul Barretto and Fernanda Torres) stuck inside her big house on a rainy night when they decide to play hide-and-seek just to spice up the mood. The woman teases the guy, who isn't much into playing a game but he gets easily seduced in trying to find her. That's when things will go really weird and dangerous for him as he walks from room to room.

Well, it wasn't a pleasant experience for the man and it was a real bizarre and surprising experience for me since I wasn't expecting any of the obstacles faced by the poor guy. When I read about the plot in some other film site it was explained that dangerous things would happen to the man, I was pretty much expecting that the woman would show a dark side of hers that he never seen before (it's sort of that) but I could never imagine that strange visions would affect him, little creatures would come his way and he would fall into despair without finding the woman. I honestly thought she would commit some murder in the house but against my expectations everything was turned into a out of this world experience.

I loved every minute of it, specially seeing Fernanda Torres again delivering an amazing performance, very seductive, at times really bored but always in the mood for changing her mind and involve her partner in a silly game, to which at first he plays along by showing his exact kind of play he'd like to do and then he gets immersed in the actual hide-and-seek. It's all dark yet humored with many twists on the way. One of the short films I've ever seen. 10/10.
