The "captain" also helps after hours: Werner Träsch lends a hand to his boss Dorn, who is cleaning up his inherited parents' house himself. However, the two garbage workers discover highly toxic asbestos in the walls - this not only creates work, but also additional costs. Dorn's new neighbor Mona recommends a surprisingly cheap service provider. When the charming educator talks about her fight against an illegal garbage dump in front of her forest daycare center, the "Mülle" boss wants to support her with his expertise. However, the fact that his own waste, which was actually professionally disposed of, appears there leaves him in need of an explanation to her. Together with his friend Werner, Dorn sets out to solve the brazen fraud. Unfortunately, Werner transfers his girlfriend Gabi. Disappointed, she goes to the theater with her "ex", the cultivated Hendrik. Now the "captain" has to do everything he can to save his relationship.

The opposite of good is good intentions. On the anniversary of getting to know each other, Werner Träsch surprised "his" Gabi with a vacation trip: ten days on Fuerteventura - everything already booked. To his disappointment, Gabi would rather experience culture than lie in the sun and let him know that too. Werner has to digest this disappointment first. Sometimes he lacks empathy, but his heart is in the right place. The "Captain" wants to help immediately when he meets the young homeless Luna on the tour. Not only is she afraid of a gang of boys, she also runs away from something. Together with his colleagues Ralle and Tarik, Werner lends a hand to put the teenager's life in order. Meanwhile, the garbage collectors have to drag an uninvited passenger along. While they are heaving heavy tons, the consultant Felsenhain clacks every emptying into his laptop. Neither his job nor his demeanor make him likeable. Only after a violent exchange of words does the captain discover what is really going on with the consultant - and that he has something in common with Felsenhain.

Burst water pipe plus aerial bomb - half of Berlin is closed. For the garbage collection trio Werner, Tarik and Ralle, that's no reason to leave work behind. When the computers go on strike, the three have to improvise completely without the help of Dorn and dispatcher Gerald. After an emptying, a stowaway suddenly sits in her cockpit: the pensioner Boris, who used to be a long-distance driver himself. It's not that easy to get kicked out, because the single pensioner can clearly no longer cope on his own. He also reminds Werner of his father, with whom the "captain" no longer got along during his lifetime. When Boris unexpectedly escapes into the exclusion zone, Werner doesn't hesitate for a second to look for the confused man. Meanwhile, Gabi is turning her kiosk into an emergency shelter for people who have fled their homes because of the bomb threat. She particularly cares for a six-year-old, whose parents are now being searched for.

"Captain" Werner Träsch, Ralle and Tarik prefer it when they can do their work "from above" without stress. When Werner slips his hand during a schoolyard demo by "Fridays for Futures" and causes a shit storm on the Internet, his boss Dorn forces him to iron out the lack of restraint on duty in an unusual way: Dennis, who is slapped in the face and is about to be kicked out of school, should do his one-week student internship with the "Käpt'n", of all places, and put the "garbage" in the best light with positive blog posts. But the 16-year-old environmental activist has little desire to pull other people's rubbish out of the backyards for unpaid - certainly not with supposedly teacher-like announcements from an annoyed boss. Werner soon realizes that the rebellious boy is hardly inferior to him when it comes to Berlin snout, that private troubles are bothering him, but that he is actually hard to be okay. Together with his team, Werner gives him a second chance. Meanwhile, Werner wants to make a "real" new beginning with his girlfriend Gabi. To do this, he finally has to finish with the death of his wife years ago. Despite the best of resolutions, Werner, who hates nothing more than change, finds it difficult to do so.

A wild pile of junk on the sidewalk and a condescending house owner - "Captain" Werner Träsch and his colleagues have little understanding for either. When the angry businessman Waselitzki shows them a large graffiti on a house front that makes him look ridiculous as a ruthless frog prince with a mustache, it dawns on the garbage collectors how crooked the house blessing hangs. They soon learn that Waselitzki is pulling out all the stops to "de-rent" apartments and then re-rent them at exorbitant prices. Whoever is behind the graffiti discovers Tarik by chance: his former buddy Chris, who hides behind the well-known anonymous "Flash". Of course Tarik holds tight. Chris and his girlfriend Lea and their child want to put Waselitzki down anyway. And now he also has to deal with the rubbish. Meanwhile, Werner and his boys find themselves in a dilemma: After a hectic clearance operation in front of an art gallery, the main attraction and at the same time the core of the exhibition, an avant-garde installation, is missing. Ironically, the art lover Ralle is suspected of having accidentally disposed of the metal part. Of course, Werner won't let the desperate gallery owner Eddi, the sister of his colleague Specki, down. Although the "captain" - unlike his colleagues - understands little about art, he knows a lot about creative problem solving.

"Captain" Werner Träsch and "Späti" operator Gabi get serious and move in together. The widowed nostalgic has not yet fully arrived at the new togetherness: Instead of helping Gabi to set up the common apartment, Werner is committed as a rescuer for his old local pub "Zur Traube", an example of how Berlin pubs are dying out. Landlord Lothar Schenker and his wife Regine have even sublet their apartment out of financial difficulties and are secretly sleeping in the garage. So it's no wonder that the problems affect Lothar's health. To prevent his friends from going bankrupt, Werner first drives in the open lids of the regular guests and takes a debtor who has been avoiding himself for a long time. The "captain" can rely on his colleagues like Ralle and Tarik as well as on Gabi, who helps the Schenkers reorganize their finances. The fact that everyone suddenly stands up for them releases new strength for Lothar and Regine. However, when Werner temporarily billets the host couple in the new apartment without asking Gabi beforehand, he goes too far with her. Now Werner has to master the next relationship crisis.
