With the best opening scene in Brooklyn nine-nine history they've managed to make this episode so average, very sad.

Pretty interesting and quite good!

We can all agree that the Cold Open is probably one of the most memorable and iconic of the entire series. However, I saw several comments saying that the episode was not good, which rather surprised me, since I really enjoyed it.
Indeed, I really like when the episodes go outside the ordinary frame of the series, in this case, when the characters are not solving crimes or investigating. So I have to say that taking an interest in Jake's family pleased me a lot, and that it was a brilliant idea, even if other series have already tried the case. The story followed well, I liked the fact that there is a contrast between the two characters, knowing that Kate is rather delinquent, and that Jake is part of the NYPD. This story had a good ration of jokes, and it flowed well.
If we talk about the secondary stories, I would say that the two were not great, but they complemented each other well. On the one hand, the B-plot with Holt, Terry and Charles had a rather interesting story to follow, without a lot of jokes, whereas the C-plot was more joke-oriented, with a story being less memorable.
In short, I would say that this episode is still well done. The main story manages to juggle the jokes and the story well, making it all interesting to watch, while the two side stories, together, manage to entertain the viewer quite well. Without forgetting to mention, once again, that this Cold Open is simply unforgettable and cult!

Warning: Spoilers
Nasim Pedrad who plays Jakes sister in this episode, also plays the part of Aly(Winstons girlfriend) in New Girl. The fact that these two shows have had a "crossover" in the past, completely undermines this episode. It's still a good episode, it's just frustrating.

Warning: Spoilers
Nasim Pedrad is a talented comedian, but this wasn't quite the right role for her. After the first episode we get a second episode of a pretty generic and cliched sitcom premise again from B99.
There were some funny moments, but the over the top yoga injury and the silver Statue/Robot Man was painful.

That Cold Open Alone Was 10/10 . Rest of the episode was nice . But Just For That Open And Charles Lifting Terry. This Episode Was Perfect For Me.
I Don't Give High Ratings And Reviews Easily But That Open Was Worth Watching Million Times.

Nashim who played Jake's sister is just annoying as hell in this episode. Her loud screeching voice got stuck in my head and it gives a cringe. I'm not quite sure whether to blame the script or her acting. She was pretty relatable in Scream Queen although that show also has a super over-the-top story line.
I love 99 especially when the story goes nuts, but the main part kinda killed the side stories in this episode. Great opening though.

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Rosa gets mad remembering Gina's set her up with a guy because he rode a Yamaha. However, Rosa owns a Yamaha - a black YZF R1.
On a different episode from an early season someone shows up holding the handlebars from Rosa's bike. However, her R1, like ALL sport bikes, doesn't have handlebars, but clip ons.
If the writers are going to mention motorcycles, they should at least check out some of the more obvious stuff about them... Or at least go out and see a motorcycle for the first time in their lives...
