Strong start, not so great finish

Warning: Spoilers
Worth watching for Rupaul alone but it def could have been better. It was a funny idea to make Marge mistaken for a drag queen but I feel like they took it too far. And why are clearly straight members of Springfield like sideshow mel now dressing in drag? And even just because you are a gay man like Smithers does not mean that you automatically def want to dress up like a woman... my brother is gay and has no desire to. So why would they go there with this? Offensive much? I saw another reviewer say they were trying too hard and I def agree! Please drop the political agenda and get back to making episodes about Springfield please!

It was not meant to be

I'm a huge "The Simpsons" fan and I'm having the best time watching Rupaul, but put on this two together it wasn't one of the brightest ideas in this show. I was really excited but the plot was a big disappointed and RuPaul was trying to hard in his voice character. And then just a 2 seconds Stan Lee Memorial after a episode like this one? This was a forgetbell episode but still had a few good jokes.

Disappointing
Edvis-199725 December 2018
Well it was funny at first when Marge Simpson was called drag queen by accident but when she became one just to get self confidence really... I'm saying yes you can be anyone you want in your life but it's too much of propaganda. Also when Lisa Simpson helped everyone then failed how did everyone knew that she helped them? Nonsense....

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse... it gets worse

Well I'd heard things about this episode, and seen the rating number.... So I prepared myself for a train wreck.

I felt so much second-hand embarrassment in this episode. It was also offensive to drag queens, with the jokes just passing off as rude and tasteless. All the characters seemed so... well... out of character. Seemed weird for ALL the gay characters (and Mel) to suddenly be drag queens. Gay does not equal drag queen.

I'm so glad I watched this on my PC and not in a room with others, as I 100% would have switched it off in embarrassment.

Both plots seemed like boring B-stories, and paired with an infuriating faux-French narrator, I couldn't work out which part of the episode was the worst.

Every single aspect of this episode was terrible.

This was bad.

So bad I finally created an account. Thanks The Simpsons writers for finally ruining my anonymity. Ask yourselves, does this sound preachy? Are we trying too hard? Did we build an episode around one Eddie Murphy joke? I'm the last note, I hope you did. Otherwise I have no idea why this epusode happened.

Zut alors!

Warning: Spoilers
In the A plot: Lisa has been watching French films. In French. And sets out to be a like a character in such. Trying to make life better for folks. This is done with touches a la a French film of that kind. With a certain style of cinematography. French style music. And a narrator with a French accent. And it's delightful. There's a real joie de vivre, to coin a phrase, to these moments. The narrator is funny. The music is great.

In the B plot: Marge tries to sell Tubberware. Only succeeds as people think she's a drag queen. And gets into the Springfield circuit of such. A homer marge plotline follows of the kind we have seen so many times. But there's great support with the guest characters to this one. And a wonderful musical number. Thus even the predictable reset moment actually works rather well and is nice.

An episode that like the best Pixar movies, leaves you with a spring in your step and a smile on your face. That feeling they call joy.

The best episode of this season so far
RubenGoMoRadioboyplus23 November 2018
The 30th season of the simpsons is being bittersweet to me. After an improvable first episode, they have shown us bland episodes that did not finish closing a blunt, acid or funny plot.

I was starting to see the episodes of the simpsons by commitment, and not with the joy of someone who enjoys the acid humor to which we are accustomed.

But everything has changed in this episode. At last, there is a mixture of spicy humor (on the one hand, with Marge) and a conciliatory and entertaining plot (on the other, with Lisa).
