Warning: Spoilers
This administration is certainly giving Jim Jefferies and other comedians a lot to talk about. The video package is a segment I usually complain about but this week it worked because he did a good job of showing just how divided people still are on Confederate symbols being displayed publicly.

Glad there was no guest. They do that on other shows, no need to do it here.

Warning: Spoilers
My ancestors from New York fought against the confederacy. I am all for removing the confederate leader and militarized monuments.

But Jim again shows just how bigoted he is himself. He's Australian. Australia has monuments, and towns and roads and schools named after genocidaires. In fact if you have seen "The Terror", the expedition commander, was in real life a former governor in Australia Tasmania colony who was hounded out for attempting to reform what was an outright slavery system of both convicts and native and imported populations that lasted long after the US civil war.

Bu the issue of leaders, is a very different issue that tearing down and defacing of all memorials, including with criminal and violent means advocated by most of the groups attacking the statues. There ARE people on both sides of US poltical extremes who are nasty, violent and criminal.

About the same time, in Texas a BLM supporter targeted and ambushed white police, shooting 14 and killing five outright. left wing "Antifa" group members perfected a riot technique where they filled soda cans with cement to make them lethal weapons they could throw at opponents and police. They had instructions on how to construct "protest signs" where the support was a 2x4 or iron pipe. People have been blinded, paralyzed and killed with those.

Trump was 100% correct to say extremists on BOTH sides have been to blame for killings, severe injury and general violence and mayhem on both sides. There certainly have been more murders and severe injury committed by the BLM/Antifa supporter side.

Jim appears to be saying anyone in the US who says something a simple, as you are entitled to your opinion, is complicit. That is absurd.

Lastly in intelligent and INFORMED discussion need to be had about the past. In the long view every human is the descendent of slaves and slave owners. Historians will be able to explain that slavery has been endemic, broadly spread and that forced labor has been the likely the condition of most humans since the invention of centralized economies that occurred with the adoption of agriculture. Most human females were chattel until modern times.

On the issue of confederate monuments, schools, town and road names we need to parse out which were renamed to confederate names in the 1950's, since this was a reactionary element the civil rights gains of the 50's and 60's. All the evidence shows that such a dialogue garners wide support for removing the names. That said this means we need to look at say schools named after Malcolm X who was profoundly misogynist and an anti-Semite.

My school, Princeton, won't remove racist Democrat Woodrow Wilson's name from buildings due to a double-standard because he is also a "progressive hero" and 70% of alumni identify as Democrats or progressives.

And Trump condemned both sides givne both sides were in fact enagadged in violnce
