Hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
This guy was hilarious with many of his stories and experiences. I love how he talks about his past with his mother basically being evil, mean, rude and racist around him. And I love how he talks about his moments with his son his joke about buying toys and games for his son and himself so he can be silly driving a hover board.

Hilarious...

I never heard about this stand-up comedian before stumbling upon the show by sheer luck on Netflix. I decided to give it a chance without knowing what I was getting myself into.

And it turned out that Jo Koy is truly a hilarious guy. He really nailed the Filipina stereotypes right on the head, and it was done in a way that had me laughing out loudly all of the time. He delivers good and solid jokes with a great punchline, and his timing is good.

The "Jo Koy: Live from Seattle" stand-up comedy show is crammed with lots of laughs, good jokes and puns. And I will say that it is definitely worth taking the time to watch "Jo Koy: Live from Seattle".

After having seen this stand-up comedy show, then Jo Koy has certainly cemented himself as a talented stand-up comedian for me, and I am definitely looking forward to catching more of his shows.

Legit laugh out loud funny

I'm only familiar with his material from those short skits on Facebook. I didn't know he had full length comedy shows available on Netflix. I decided to tune in as I fall asleep. Well hell no! His first anecdote grabbed my attention and I was laughing out loud. Everything he's talking about had a lot of truth.

I thought the whole show was too short and I had to admit, he ended with a weak story. But all in all, worth the time! Don't let the hateful comments fool you. This is hilarious! I think they're reviewing Amy Shumer's show and clicked on this one by mistake.

Laugh Out Loud

Hysterical!!!! For those people who did not enjoy this routine - something is horrifically wrong with your sense of humor. I shared this routine with numerous friends and family & not one person did not find this guy funny, actually he's beyond funny!!!! So for those of you who gave this guy a bad review - shame on you - take the sticks out of your a**es and lighten up. Seriously - this is great entertainment if you enjoy comedy and a great laugh. It's a shame there are so many haters out there, don't let their reviews ruin it for you. Watch it and judge for yourselves - keep those jokes coming Jo!!! Great job.

Starts at the top but falls short.

It's the usual Jo Koy. Pretty funny, pretty down to earth. The show starts with the usual Koy flavor, getting into family (mom) issues, cultural differences, but slowly and exponentially dives down in the last half of the show into a more unwarranted, provocative downfall that brings the intelligent observational humor to a halt and gets more raunchy-based chuckles and nervously-shocked laughs than the genuine you-got-me belly laugh. It might take the amateur audience members by surprise and make them laugh but anyone who watched a few comedy shows in the past few years will find the landing a little rough and make some people look at their watch hoping it's the last few minutes of the show.

A chicken and flip flops

"Women will laugh and pee at the same time!" Jo Koy tells us in his latest special. Koy did not fail to leave the pants of some, a bit moister than when he started in, Jo Koy: Live from Seattle. Returning with his latest special since 2012. Jo Koy: live from Seattle is a perfect encore to his 2012 special "Jo Koy: Lights Out". Sticking to his self-Deprecating moderately wholesome style Koy steers us down a path of his childhood paralleled by comparisons of his own sons. Listening to Koy tell us how his father "only married his mother because he likes Chinese food" is funny, but hearing Koy respond that "mom's Pilipino" was far funnier. I found his creative sense of storytelling coupled with his unique enthusiasm enthralling, to say the least. Koy will not fail to keep you laughing the entire time. "A chicken and flip flops" professes Koy, is what a comedian in the Philippines makes per show. Watching a 1400-person audience cheer Jo on makes me think that he'll be bringing home more than a chicken and flip flops. Koy's family friendly-ish humor is fun for all and I would give it a solid 9 out of 10.

Great special...
haywoodyoudome31 December 2017
...for anyone lacking the ability to change to something better. So bad that even the laugh track can't save it. Yes, the show is so bad they felt the need to include a laugh track. How he managed to get his own special is beyond me. His manager must have dirt on someone at Netflix. That's the only explanation for something this bad seeing the light of day.

This 'special' has been presented by someone who has been told that she's funny so many times that she's fallen for it. It's like the chubby girl who has been told by her parents that the peach dress she's wearing looks great - and then when she wears it outside, still stubbornly believes that it looks great because her mum and dad are right and the rest of the world must be blind or something!

It's a train wreck. he is not funny, intelligent, clever or thought provoking. he goes out of his way to be as raunchy as possible but there is no point to it. No talent what so ever. he talks about subjects that people really don't want to hear about and gets bitchy when the jokes don't land and then blames the alt right because his reviews are in the toilet because he failure couldn't possibly be that he isn't funny.

bad

I hate to say this, but this is not as good as the previous one or even as some of his podcasts or appearances. Some bits I've already heard on Conan and elsewhere he appeared, others felt overly long and acted out too much. I'm afraid being married and expecting / having a kid might have reduced his "psychosis" as he admits to trying to being less angry and stuff. It's really difficult to come up with 10 lines of review, so I recommend listening to his podcast for those who haven't until now.
