Well this episode certainly had a few twists that I did not see coming and some definite wtf moments. Gotta give this town some props for making this vigil a right of passage, one full night in the woods? Heck no.

This one starts with some found footage which could be right out of one of the Blair Witch movies. Some kids in the woods, and some kind of creature around them apparently. Some bones of animals hanging from the trees.
SO Basically this is a double whammy of sorts. The found footage was found by a hiker in the woods. And Captain Lauren is texting her daughter, who is missing. Apparently it was her daughter that got snatched up at the end of the last episode.
So we got missing people everywhere! So INTO THE WOODS we go!!!! We come across all the hanging bones with Lauren's crew. And we've got bloody clothes!!!! Someone is screaming for HELP as well. We've got 2 kids, tied to trees. And of them has a slit throat. More bodies!!
Okay so wait, this thing in the woods, its a coming of age ceremony in VILLEFRANCHE, called the VIGIL. Everyone who turns 18 has to spend a night in the WOODS. But this time, it went 'south'. And one kid ended up dead. And come to find out when Lauren lost her fingers in the WOODS, that was part of her VIGIL as well. So her VIGIL apparently also went 'south'.
So the daughter was actually snatched up by this rebel protest group that is fighting against the corporate money that controls VILLEFRANCHE. Okay, CORA. Cora is Captain Lauren's daughter. I'll use that name from now on.
When the crew is reviewing this footage, they notice a figure off to the side, a shadow. They go to one of the surviving boys. Trying to find out if he saw something else in the WOODS. The boy says they heard a noise. The noise that they've all heard this creature making in the Cave, the WOODS too,.
So they find phone records that reveal that Alexis, the guy who got his throat slit in the woods, was having an affair with his high school teacher. And clues she gives lead to an arrest of a suspect at the funeral. A suspect who confesses to the murder in the WOODS. The crew, they don't believe it tho so they want to do a reconstruction of the crime in the WOODS. They are not done investigating.
+1 Star because this is a good way to try to find the truth of the murders.
Cora, she participates with her rebel group in blowing up a car in the Steiner's lumber mill parking lot at the end. This is sending a message that this rebel GROUP is serious about their PEACEFUL PROTESTS.
Oh, and at the funeral the MAYOR announced that he was prohibiting the VIGIL from now on. Quite a few townspeople were upset about this.
Okay and some weird stuff happens at the end of the episode as Lauren has flashbacks apparently to her own VIGIL. Where she gets snatched up by someone in the WOODS!!

Oh, yeah. Sex -hormone crazed teenagers in the woods at night, drinking around a camp fire. No adult supervision. What could possibly go wrong? Well, for starters, somebody decorated those trees with bones, a macabre Christmas. I'm going to go with campy, just because that's a favorite genre for my wife and myself.
