PHANTOM OF THE GRINDHOUSE is a spoof of the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA story, made by the director responsible for the infamously awful FILTHY MCNASTY trilogy. You'd expect by definition for this film to be pretty terrible and indeed it is, although thankfully not as terrible as Chris Seaver's earlier efforts.
The story sees a black guy in a phantom mask running around a theatre and butchering the occupants in various silly ways. Incredibly this film attempts to be a musical with a number of singing scenes and it's fair to say that the singing is better than the acting. While this film may indeed be a step up from the director's earlier efforts this is still an amateurish mess of a movie and one that's all but unwatchable.
