Sex & Nudity

  • Grandpa's pantaloons comically show up now and then, but nothing suggestive is mentioned or done with them.

Violence & Gore

  • Sadwick has a really depressing sense of humor, telling himself things like how he's doomed to die, the world will end, how vicious creatures might tear his head off, etc.
  • Various characters are verbally mean to Sadwick. "Boss-like" characters bark at their servants apart from Sadwick as well.

Profanity

  • Some mild swears, like G*d and Da*n. The optional developer's commentary on the Special Edition includes other words like sh*t.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Sadwick comes across a still, which reminds him of his Grandma using one "to make booze from river elves". He also jokes to Spot about using it to make liquor (he can't).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A great deal of the game, including the opening narration, reminds you that Sadwick is destined to destroy the world, no matter how much he objects to it.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • One puzzle involves cooking small animals (although they're just dropped into a cauldron, make no noise, and we don't literally see them).
  • Loucaux talks about his plans to kill Spot and the old king of Corona.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • An incarcerated character sees a lump of nasty food, and frighteningly assumes it's the remains of their pet. (It's not)
  • The final puzzle results in finding a boy in a coma. Sadwick's connection to him is quite humbling.
